Is it lawful to do good on Sabbath?

Matthew 12:9 – 13 (new international version) Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10 and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

What is your opinion about divorce?

Matthew 19:3 to 9 new revised standard version  “The Pharisees came, testing Him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?

He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” 7

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?” He said to them, “It was because you were so hard-hearted that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery.

What are the tradition you are following that might offend God?

Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands before they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? Matthew 15:1-3

“Then the disciples approached and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?”  Matthew 15:12

Jesus answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind.[e] And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit.”

15 But Peter said to him, “Explain this parable to us.” 16 Then he said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth enters the stomach, and goes out into the sewer? 18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this is what defiles. 19 For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile.” Matthew 15:13-20 (new revised standard version)

When faced with decision in your life do you fast and pray with humility?

The disciples of John asked why they had to fast, but Jesus’ disciples were not required to (Matthew 9:14).

Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

This was when Jesus Christ was with the disciple during his mission. But now, we are encourage to fast and pray.

Jesus Christ fast and prayed for forty days and forty nights Matthew 4:1-2

Moses fast and prayed for forty days and forty nights Exodus 34:28

Paul and Barnabas prayed and fast Acts 14:23

Isaiah prayed and fast Isaiah 58:6-7

A widow prayed and fast Luke 2:37,

Peter said to Jesus, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore, what shall we have?” (Matthew 19:27 (new international version)

Peter questioned, was a self-centered, but the Lord honored it with a serious answer.

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

What self-centered question have you asked Jesus Christ regarding your life situation? Your question will be honored by the Lord. Feel free to ask Him.

Thank you for listening.

Jesus saves, but whom does He save?

Jesus saves all who will receive His gift of salvation. Jesus saves all those who fully trust in His sacrifice alone as the payment for sin (John 3:16; For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Acts 16:31, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” English standard version)

While Jesus’ sacrifice was perfectly sufficient to pay for the sins of all humanity, Jesus only saves those who personally receive His most precious gifts (John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (English standard version0

Jesus saves, but how does He save?

Jesus saves us by dying in our place. In the person of Jesus Christ, God sacrificed Himself on our behalf, paying the infinite and eternal penalty only He could pay. You can read (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 2:2).

Jesus took the punishment that we deserve in order to save us from a horrible eternal destiny, the just consequence of our sin.

Because of His great love for us, Jesus laid down His life you can read (John 15:13 ), Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

paying the penalty that we had earned, but could not pay. Jesus was then resurrected, demonstrating that His death was indeed sufficient to pay the penalty for our sins (1 Corinthians 15).

Jesus saves, but how does He save?

Jesus saves, but why do we need to be saved?

The Bible declares that every human being who has ever lived has sinned (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Roman 3:23).

To sin is to do something, whether in thought, word, or deed, that contradicts God’s perfect and holy character.

Because of our sin, we all deserve judgment from God (John 3:18,

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.)

God is perfectly just, so He cannot allow sin and evil to go unpunished. Since God is infinite and eternal, and since all sin is ultimately against God (Psalm 51:4), only an infinite and eternal punishment is sufficient. Eternal death is the only just punishment for sin. That is why we need to be saved.

Why do we need to be saved?

Thank you for listening

What does it mean that Jesus Christ saves?

Sadly, few who see the phrase “Jesus saves” truly and fully understand what it means. Every religion in the world views Jesus as a good teacher and/or prophet. And while those things are most definitely true of Jesus, they do not capture who Jesus truly is, nor do they explain how or why Jesus saves.

Jesus is God in human form (John 1:1, 14)

Jesus is God, come to earth, as a true human being (1 John 4:2).

God became a human being in the person of Jesus in order to save us.

Jesus saves, who is Jesus Christ to you?

A rich young man asked Jesus Christ, what must I do to inherit eternal life?

Jesus looked at him and love him, and he said, Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. Mark 10:17-21 (niv)

What two questions you will ask Jesus Christ and why?

Jesus loves to answer any question, just like how he look and love the rich young man.

He too is now looking at you and love to listen to your question.

Thank you for listening.
