Yog Nidra -2

Yog Nidra -2

Enjoy a deep state of relaxation through Yog Nidra also known as Yogic Sleep. For Yoga Nidra practice practitioner lies down in a comfortable position. Yog Nidra practice brings a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. Practitioner is asked to follow instructions easily , comfortably and moving along with instructions-without pondering to judge , analyze or concentrate on instruction instead simply follow with full awareness. Practitioner is asked to stay aware and not sleep. This state of consciousness is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In yoga nidra the practitioner remains in a state of light withdrawal of the 5 senses also termed as “Pratyahara”, with four senses internalized, that is, withdrawn, and the practitioner simply hears through their auditory channel- following instructions. Yog Nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness . Practioner stays fully aware and if possible should stay awake and not sleep. If one falls asleep its ok! one can reaps benefit of good sleep. If you are trying to use this meditation to fall asleep than actually do follow instruction “of not falling asleep” during YogNidra, instead make a “Resolve” during Resolve time-at the beginning and at the end of Yog Nidra: A resolve to develop a great sleeping ritual for a resting -rejuvenating - natural sleep every night. It’s said resolve made during Yog Nidra does eventually manifest, so do take time to make a purposeful resolve to develop wellbeing in your life!

Awareness to unfoldments in our life | Avani’s Guided Meditation

Awareness to unfoldments in our life | Avani’s Guided Meditation

We are always asked to let go of our Ego! But when we have achieved or failed at anything in our life by putting our mind, efforts, emotions, and money our Ego definitely has an opening to get involved. Ego now has a chance to get inflated to deflated depending upon the outcome. Ego gets involved because, “I” as mind, and the body was involved, “I” in the form of thoughts and emotion was involved, “I” in the form of identity of power, positions and designation was involved - in those actions and interactions, In achievements and failures. And to Let go of that very subtle energy of Ego is very challenging, and actually Ego is a great asset to be used with awareness and truthfulness. The universe is always working towards our soul evolution either by rewarding with pleasant situations to us or teaching us through some tough lessons. So Today instead of working to let- go of our Ego. Let’s bring awareness to those unfoldments and those incidents that were unfolded by the universe in our lives, where you had nothing towards it, neither you used your mind nor any efforts towards those interactions, those achievements or failures. You did nothing towards creating pleasant or unpleasant situations, it just happened without your active knowledge or participation. Those are moments of our life where we cannot take credit and should be aware of how calm and blissful it feels to see no ego involved and should be happy and grateful to the universe. With the same approach to unpleasant situations that happened to us without our knowledge or active participation then instead of asking why me? Do we ask what’s there for us to learn? send love and light to it to diminish the darkness with the creative response and feel the calmness towards it.

Meditation Happens! Chitta Vritti Nirodha | Avani’s Guided Meditation

When we choose to create silence within, we try to make the external environment and our physical self conducive to take steps towards meditation and allow meditation to happen. When meditation happens it’s a phenomenon which is beyond space and time and therefore we do not know when we slip into meditation, we do not know while we are in the so-called divine gap, in that inner silence, in the touch of our inner divinity. We can only know that when we start seeing the positive transformation in our lives. When life starts flowing effortlessly, when our desires and intentions starts becoming reality easily and when we start seeing enhancement in our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, This inner and outer transformation happens through meditation, we start manifesting those divine attributes of inner silence inner wisdom that we had touched based when we slipped into meditation. When does meditation happen? In the Yog Sutras of Patanjali, Sage Patanjali offers us actual steps and practices for spiritual growth, the path towards meditation, towards yoga, and ultimately to self-realization. The second Sutra of chapter one: “Yoga Chitti Vritti Nirodha” tells us that yoga is silencing -Nirodha of the varieties-fluctuation, movements, patterns of our mind- Chitta. When we stand still those movements- fluctuations of the Vrittis: the past memories, desires, fear, greed, judgment, and so on in our Chitta-mind, Yoga happens! Meditation happens! In this meditation, we bring awareness towards Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirdoha.

So Hum | Avani’s Guided Meditation

So Hum | Avani’s Guided Meditation

In this meditation, We bring awareness to “So Hum” mantra. The Vedic mantra "So Hum" is a reflection of the vibrational sound of the breath as cognized by the ancient sages and seekers: “So” of the inhale and “Hum” of the exhale. It also carries a contemplative meaning: "I am that" (so = "I am" and hum = "that"). In the Vedic philosophy it means identifying oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. That in whom reside all beings and who resides in all beings, who is the giver of grace to all, the Supreme Soul of the universe, the limitless being -- I am that. Amritbindu Upanishad “That which permeates all, which nothing transcends and which, like the universal space around us, fills everything completely from within and without, that Supreme non-dual Brahman -- that thou art.” Sankaracharya The So Hum meditation is a simple but powerful tool that uses the breath and the repetition of a mantra to quiet the mind and relax the body. This meditation has used the background ‘So Hum” Marta sung beautifully by A Choir group played on Youtube by the meditative mind. This meditation will help us move beyond our mind’s busy chatter to the peace of present moment awareness. This meditation is also about connecting to mother earth and feeling grounded, connected, and supported. To touch base to our inner silence, the source of infinite creativity, infinite potentiality, infinite connectedness, peace, love, and blissfulness to manifest the same in our lives.

Simply “I am” | Avani’s Guided Meditation

Today we bring awareness to our Heart center, Awareness to the action of Grasping and holding, and learning to let go by meditating on simply ‘I am “ According to ancient wisdom, the human being is seen as a building that has ten doors. Five incoming senses: the sense of Sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch are the entrance doors, and five outward actions: elimination, procreation, movement, grasping, and speech are the exit doors. Consciously, actively and intentionally witnessing these ten senses as they function as we interact with our own self and with the surrounding physical world, manifest nourishing creative response towards our interactions. Cultivating to withdraw them termed as “pratyahara “ to see it non judgmentally, staying detached towards our actions and sensory input is a very important part of meditation. It does not mean that we do not enjoy life, and its actions and sensory experiences. Rather, these are enjoyed more fully, in a spirit of wisdom, freedom, and non-attachment. It surely enhances our life experience and brings maximum efficiency. At the same time cultivating this awareness helps us identify that "Who I am is independent of my actions and sensory input and fulfillment". I am is a silent observer of our actions. Bringing awareness to our outward going actions can help us to make nourishing choices towards our interactions with the physical world. This meditation is about announcing our trillions of cells to stay aware of our actions to keep it in harmony with the physical body and cosmos. It’s about calming our mind chatter with a positive affirmation. It’s about connecting to mother earth and feeling grounded, connected, and supported. To touch base to our inner silence, the source of infinite creativity, infinite potentiality, infinite connectedness, peace, love, and blissfulness to manifest the same in our lives.
