Episode 44 - Interview with Peter Bennett (Fitness Coach)

Happy Friday, everyone! In this episode of the #IDPodcast, we got the pleasure to talk to another amazing fitness coach, Peter Bennett! Growing up, Pete was obsessed with any physical activities, sports, or doing anything active outside. He loved all these from the start, and that's what got him introduced to fitness. Pete says that he used to be obsessed with working out, but after seeing the transformation that happened to himself, after getting better with social interactions and getting that confidence boost that he once never had, he wanted to make sure that other people get to experience that as well. So from being obsessed with working out, Pete became obsessed with helping others.

Episode 43 - Interview with Alex Marshall (Nutrition Coach)

Happy Friday, everyone! In this new episode of #IDPodcast, we got to talk to an incredible nutrition coach, Alex Marshall! Alex works with a lot of women who tried almost all diet programs and are really not seeing results. A lot of them are not really sure what to do with their food so they end up eating less. Mainly because there's a stigma out there that women need to be skinny, need to eat fewer calories, need to eat less to avoid being bulky-- which is all wrong and crap! Alex helps these people find their level of physical activity, ramp up their food intake, and really finds the tune in all of that. Alex works with a lot of Mindset stuff as well...she helps fight back against the wrong diet culture, the incessant desire to be skinny, and she works toward more on body acceptance-- so one could think that "I am perfect just the way I am!".

Episode 22 - LatinX Roundtable: What does the industry look like to us at Accountex

Hey y'all!  Welcome to another episode of the #IDPodcast!  This episode starts our series of interviews we did at Accountex!   This is a meaningful episode for me because of the topic.  Tony Martinez from the Latino Tax Professionals allowed up to use his booth and we were able to sit down and have a round table discussion with my fellow latino and latina colleagues about the industry and how we see it from our eyes.  The few latino/a accountants and tax pros that were there all were able to migrate to the LTP table and I wanted to pick their brain as far as where they stood in the industry.  We talk about what it is like servicing our clientele and some of the problems that we come across and some of the solutions we offer to their problems.   It was a great discussion about what we see from our eyes and how we are servicing our own people.

Unfortunately I did not grab Erika's information but we do have info for the rest of the speakers:

Loyda Moreno, Jonathan Jimenez CPA, and Tony Martinez.

Hey y'all!  Welcome back to another episode!  I am so excited because I get to interview the one... the only... T Lopez!  For those of you that do not know T is kind of a big deal.  She is a recording artist, writer, television personality, producer, podcast host, empowering the Latinx community and women worldwide, mother, wife, and just all around superwoman!

I met T on Instagram after I saw her post about family and how she juggles her family (which she puts first) and working in the entertainment industry.  She focuses on helping working mothers with her two podcasts Mama Morsels and Mom Life Yo.  She always has such a powerful and uplifting message and its awesome to see her be such an advocate for putting family first.  Her husband DJ Hapa (who has an awesome podcast named A Tribe Called Dad) and her are raising two world changers and it is awesome to see them interact on social media.

I got the pleasure to talk to T about a variety of topics.  We discussed disconnecting when we are away with our significant others and how that can be a hard thing to do.  We also talked about how family is the most important thing in our lives and how we try to model everything around that.  She also gives some tips as to the state of the entertainment industry and what someone needs to do in order to be successful now.

It was so amazing and refreshing to talk to someone that actually gets it!  Trying to build up the Latinx community, trying to empower mothers, and making sure she is still present in her daughters lives!  Guys... this is a great podcast and I highly recommend you listen to it.

Episode 11 - Getting to know NAHREP Houston

Hey guys!!!  It has been a really long time and I want to apologize!  Things have gotten hectic and it has been busy but we are back to it!  I want to start off by saying that the audio for this episode is bad.  Real bad.  I tried to do the interview in person and it did not work.  But... we will move on with it!  This episode we interviewed Veronica Martinez and Charles Villafana of NAHREP Houston.  NAHREP stands for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.  They are an amazing organization that supports the Latino Community in real estate.  I came across them and while I was doing an event and loved what they were about.  I have gotten to know Veronica and Charles a lot and I can honestly say the are the best!  I would highly suggest listening to this especially their 10 guidelines to success!

I hope you enjoy and if you like it please like, subscribe, and share!

Episode 10 - Interview with Tony Martinez of the Latino Tax Professional Association

Episode 10 - Interview with Tony Martinez of the Latino Tax Professional Association

Hey guys!  We have another amazing episode of the IDP Podcast!  This week we had the chance to interview Tony Martinez of the Latino Tax Professional Association.  We did a live webinar for the interview and it was very nerve wrecking but was a great experience!

The Latino Tax Professional Association is an organization that advocates for the latino tax prepaper and for the immigration community.  They are positioning themselves to be the experts when dealing with immigrant clients for all of the accounting industry.  They are a great organization that provides training for their members and access to experts if you have any tax related questions.  They also teamed up with Tus Tres Maestras to be able to provide their members with bookkeeping training.

Tony talks a little about the history of the organization and how they got started.  He then discusses the annual conference that they hold for their members in Las Vegas.  Finally we go on a Xero tangent, because you guys know I love it, and talk a little about their podcast and the partnership with Tus Tres Maestras.

Episode 7 - Mental Health and Business Growth

Episode 7 - Mental Health and Business Growth

Hey y'all!!  Welcome to another episode of the IDP podcast!  I appreciate you guys listening in!  This week we are mixing things up a bit.  I could not lock down an interview and decided that I just wanted to talk to you guys.  I wanted to open to you and have a real conversation with y'all.  Mental health is a topic this is not touched on or is always hushed and I want to make sure we talk about it more.  You guys get to learn more about me here and my thoughts about it.  I also talk about breaking out of your comfort zone.  We all know that doing new things are scary but sometimes they can be very rewarding.  The last topic I touch on is delegation.  We as business owners cannot do everything and we need to be ok with passing some items to other people that may specialize in that.

This episode is real and I do open up to you guys a little more than I probably should but I want y'all to know I am speaking from the heart.  I am all about empowerment and I hope that at least my words helps someone out there who is struggling.

Thanks guys and if you like this episode please like, subscribe, and share!

Episode 5 - Reality of Accounting with Justin McAuliffe of CPA Enterprises

Episode 5 - Reality of Accounting with Justin McAuliffe of CPA Enterprises

Hey guys!!!  We have another hot episode of the IDP Podcast!  We are a little late but we have a two and a half hour episode that took forever to render!  This episode is a little different because this is a little bit more personal.  Justin and I have a conversation about the state of public accounting, the different type of people we worked with, and touch on some more personal issues including mental health and fear of passing the CPA.

This episode is raw and real.  This is NSFW and our takes may offend some people but I feel like this episode is for those that are unhappy and stuck in a toxic situation at their firm.

I know it is long and drawn out but I think we touch on some awesome things that a lot of people in this industry can relate to.

I hope you guys enjoy and if you do then please like, subscribe, and share!!  Thanks guys!!

Episode 2 - Interview with Tax Token

Episode 2 - Interview with Tax Token

Hey guys!  I am pumped up about this episode of the IDP pocast!  I have Michael Foland with Tax Token as the guest today.  Tax Token is a software that makes it easier to file your crypto taxes.  I am excited about this one because I get the chance to talk to a young entrepreneur who saw a need and decided to jump into it head first.  It is very interesting what people are doing in the blockchain and crypto space.

I will say this being my first real interview I was a nervous wreck!  I was lucky that Michael was great and made it an awesome interview.

Make sure to check them out next tax season if you need help with your crypto taxes at www.taxtoken.io.  I know I will if my clients invested in crypto.

And as always I appreciate you taking the time listen to us!  Please like, share, and subscribe!  Happy Holidays ya'll!!
