• Obtain an index card for each person, place or thing that needs forgiveness • Write the person’s name on the front of the index card • On the back write the offense • Lay out all of the cards face up with the person’s name showing • Pick up a card and say out loud: I declare my forgiveness to you, ________. I am declaring that as Jesus has forgiven me, I am forgiving you and for whatever my feelings don’t yet allow for – the blood of Jesus will surely cover. As you read this color over the offense with a red magic marker. This symbolizes the blood of Jesus covering the sin. The Process: I acknowledge that forgiveness is both a decision and a process. I acknowledge that I need the Heavenly Father to do this. • I am making a commitment to walk through the process of forgiveness • I am making a commitment to turn from my sin of unforgiveness and obey God • If I am revisited by memories of the offense in the future, I will honor the process by saying out loud: For whatever my feelings will not yet allow the blood of Jesus on the cross has covered. I forgive you, _________
