After Matt Webb tries to start a fight in a nightclub with Richard Rogue, Mrs. Webb tries to hire him to investigate her husband. Rogue declines the case but finds himself involved the next day when Webb's body is found.
Al never seems to want to talk about his family. Al has told his mother that he's a success in life. He's the president of General Motors, General Mills and General Electric! At last, Al's mother comes to dinner.
This episode begins with a man named WILLIAM DEVEN being kidnapped by a group calling themselves THE WHITE LEGION. The legion are a group willing to make attacks in broad daylight without fear of retaliation. The Legion accuses Deven of conspiring against the group and is killed as his punishment.
Lamont Cranston and Margot arrive in a fishing village where a cult that engages in human sacrifice has set up shop in the home of a rich and slightly senile old woman which is suspected of being behind the death of the preacher who objected to their presence.
It's Christmas Eve, all is serene and quiet in Apartment 3b. Irma is reading and planning a surprise Christmas party for her friends. The surprise is on Irma though as one by one her guests have an excuse not to come.
A demented old hag living with her hunchback son kidnaps four boys and holds them captive in their mansion. Two criminals also stay in the mansion, using the place as a hideout. When The Shadow tries to rescue the boys, a pack of vicious dogs are released and chase him up a tree.
Irma is tired of her job and depressed. She feels she's meant for greater things. Irma is fed up with her job as a stenographer and finds herself being offered a job in show business. She is going to be paid $50 a week plus expenses and for that, she just has to be sawed in half by the Great Cardoni.
An evil businessman kidnaps his partner and keeps him in a burial vault. He wants him to sign a confession stating how he killed himself by drowning. Once the confession is signed, he will then kill his associate, take over the whole business and marry his partner's daughter. As The Shadow investigates a fake passport racket, it leads him to the mausoleum where the helpless prisoner is being kept.

Irma finds a purse in a gutter and she and Al ring up the owner to return the purse and collect a reward. Meantime Mr. Rhinelander’s secretary turns up at the apartment to drop off an envelope for Jane containing $100. Al assumes she is the secretary of the “lost purse” lady and takes the envelope and sends the secretary off bewildered with the handbag.
Jane is worried that Richard Rhinelander family will think that her husband can’t possibly marry her a girl who works. The Rhinelander’s are mentioned all over the society pages but Richard tells Jane that his family doesn’t like publicity at all. However, Irma and Al think they are helping when they arrange lots of publicity for Jane.
The Somaliland diamond was stolen from the home of wealthy old gem collector James E. Lee. The insurance company put Richard Rogue on the case and he went out to Lee’s secluded country mansion but Lee wouldn’t talk to him about the robbery. Rogue left picked up a few more clues and returned but was knocked unconscious on the lawn
The most famous radio show of all time. Mars invades New Jersey. The wireless is interrupted by a special bulletin. "Professor Farrell of the Mount Jennings Observatory reports observing several explosions of incandescent gas occurring at regular intervals on the planet Mars. The spectroscope indicates the gas to be hydrogen which is moving towards the earth at enormous velocity". What is this unexplained phenomena? Most definitely the most famous radio drama ever broadcast and still as gripping today as ever.
Irma's fur coat. Easy come, easy go! Oh dear Irma is one of the unsuspecting citizens who has bought something from a fake seller on Second Avenue that the police have now begun to clamp down on. To the despair of her friend and roommate Jane Stacy, Irma has bought a fur coat for $80 that the seller has told her was worth $5000!
A young woman visiting Paris is kidnapped by a man claiming that her father owes him $150,000. Her adventures in the sewers of Paris include a madman who makes jewelry from the bones of the dead bodies floating past.
Richard Rogue solves an attempted double murder, tire tracks in the rain supplying the clue. Richard Rogue had accepted a case from Mrs. Harvey Burgess of the Burgess’ millions. She was a suspicious wife who suspected her husband of having a rendezvous with Helen Stark his secretary at the home of Clarence Roma his best friend. When Rogue gets there he discovered Mrs. Burgess and her husband who was dead.
Both Jane and Irma lose their jobs at the same time. Al backs a friend in a poker game to ante up some cash for the girls. This is the show from which "Here's To Veterans" was taken. + The loveable but dumb Irma is fired by her boss for her inefficiency but she isn’t worried about losing her job because she has a roommate Jane who will take care of her because she has a steady job and works for her boyfriend so she can never get fired. Meanwhile, Jane Stacy has resigned from her job because she has come to the conclusion that it is better to be the boss’s wife and worry about the secretary than be the secretary and worry about being the boss’s wife. Jane isn’t worried because she believes that Irma has a steady job and will take care of her!
Several bomb explosions are caused by a man who hates crowds. The police are unable to make any progress and the town becomes more scared. When Margot Lane claims that The Shadow can catch the criminal, Commissioner Weston scoffs at the idea and challenges The Shadow to try and uncover new evidence that the police may have overlooked.
When Linda arrives home with her friends making a rabble of a noise an argument ensues with her husband accusing her and her friends of behaving like a pack of yowling, screaming ally cats and he announces he's through with her. Then she cruelly informs him that she only married him for his money. He accuses her of being a cat a big white heartless cat, with unexpected consequences.
Joe Layton came to see Richard Rogue to see if he had received half a map showing where Duke Dickeson had hid some money. Joe Layton had one half of the map and he and Rogue were to go and uncover the money together and it was worth $1100 to him. Trouble was Rogue hadn’t received his half of the map and then Layton turns up dead.
Irma gives Al the girls' rent money to bet on a seedy prize fighter he's managing. Friendship is a thing that’s been around all through the ages, like measles but measles you can get rid of but not Janes friend Irma. However, Jane wouldn’t want to get rid of Irma because she sincerely loves her so she’s going to continue to live with her through thick and thin although at times Jane finds it trying living with her lovable friend Irma like when she was trying to fix up a budget for her. Richard Rogue was extremely busy when Mrs Eccle a little old lady called in for his help concerning her granddaughter. Mrs Eccle reminded him so much of the grandma he spent so much of his youth with that he couldn’t resist helping her. When Rogue went round to the girl’s apartment there was no answer so he went in only to find a girl dead
Irma & Jane meet and Jane moves in with Irma. Jane is in love with her boss, Richard) and tells him she lives in an "intellectual atmosphere" and that her roommate is a novelist. Unknown to Jane, Richard calls up and Irma invites him to dinner, at their place. Mix in Irma's boyfriend, Al, who has so many crazy get-rich-quick schemes that never work, and you have a hilarious dinner party.
Debut episode. A man who's looking for a job mistakenly becomes involved with a bank robbery. He is later sentenced to death for a cop killing he didn't commit. The Shadow investigates and locates a missed piece of evidence, which helps free the wrongly accused man.
