Welcome back! This is Episode 22 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed!

Literally three days after we said we were going to expand the scope of the podcast, Will Smith delivers the slap heard round the world! While we don’t exactly do a deep dive into that topic, considering it has been covered ad nauseam over the past two weeks. It was important to approach that topic from a certain perspective politically. And no, he did not set black people back 100 years, or even 40 years, Texas is single handedly taking care of that all on their own.

Additionally, we saw the first black woman CONFIRMED to the United States Supreme Court. We discuss why this is not only a big deal today, but why it will continue to be a moment over the next 15 to 20 years because of the symbolism.

Midterms are coming up so it’s time to address, in a real way, why Democrats, progressives/liberals and leftist lose so damn much. Unless, y’all not ready to have that conversation? Well, I am. Oh, and Tiger Woods is back. Tiger, Tiger Woods y’all!!

Welcome back! This is Episode 21 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed!

It’s been a long time … a long, long time. I shouldn’t have left you, but I needed to go and get my mind right! After a long hiatus, we are back with episode 21 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed, and this week we get right into the historic Senate Confirmation Hearing for the future Supreme Court Justice Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Of course because this is America, rather than celebrating and applauding this historic occasion, the GOP did what the GOP does and tried to run this sister through the mud for their own personal gain. But are we surprised? We have known for a long time now that the party of Fowl Neck McConnell and company are less about actually helping move this country forward and more about taking us back into time. But, they didn’t account for the grace, the poise and the spirit of the black woman as Judge Jackson sat there and welcomed their challenges with the spirit of a fighter; a woman who has had to work her ass off to get to that moment. She didn’t let the mediocrity of the United States Senate steal her shine and for that we celebrate her this episode … while also kicking Ted Cruz in the teeth every chance we get.

We also celebrate Dr. Russell Ledet, a former janitor turned doctor at the University where he used to sweep floors. This episode is full of black excellence, what a week to come back!

Having to defend Representative Liz Cheney after she was ousted as the No. 3 in the GOP House leadership. All because she wouldn’t go along with the big lie that the election was stolen from Donald Trump.

Also, The Biden Administration has spent its first 100 days trying to get things done, but Joe Manchin of West Virginia has decided to throw as many wrenches in the plans as he can. Not like West Virginia can use the help.

Welcome back! This is Episode 18of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed!

D-M-X! That’s it. That’s the statement. There’s a lot happening in politics right now, but for me, none of that is more important than losing one of the greatest to ever walk this Earth. Not just bless a mic, but to walk this Earth period. X was one of those people that you couldn’t help but love because of his energy. In an era defined by “Keeping it Real,” X was himself unapologetically. It was what drew people to him. It was why so many people connected with him. It’s why so many people felt him.

This loss is impactful for several reasons that go beyond the art. X connected with people and touched people in a way that they could identify with. He wasn’t on that “I’m a superstar” bullshit that so many famous people get caught up in and that’s why he’s loved universally. Through all of the stuff he went through, he stayed level-headed with his heart in the streets. The community is going to feel his impact for a long time.

There was some other political stuff to talk about too, and I spend a little bit of time talking about how the media and Republicans want to criticize President Biden for his lack of “bipartisanship.” I explain why that’s bullshit! The rest of the stuff, we’ll get to another time. This one was for X.

Welcome back! This is Episode 16 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed!

The honeymoon is over. Two months into a new Congress and almost 6 weeks into a new Presidency and the honeymoon is over!

We’re back to the partisan bickering and fighting over what could all be so simple. The Senate is dissecting and “fine tuning” the Biden Covid Relief Plan to their specifications aka gutting as much from it as they can so they can still NOT vote for it. Two Senators that call themselves Democrats are helping Republicans rob the American people of the relief they want and need.

Governors across the country are putting their incompetence on full display. Whether it’s Gov. Abbott of Texas lifting business capacity restrictions and the mask mandate or Gov. Cuomo of New York and his inability to keep his hands to himself while hiding the total number of deaths in New York’s nursing homes since the Covid pandemic started, not all of the action is happening inside of Washington.

This week we’re giving flowers to Chadwick Boseman, Andra Day and Daniel Kaluuya for their well deserved Golden Globe wins. We don’t know much about the Golden Globes or the Oscars around here, but we’re rooting for everybody black!

Where’s the Stimmy Joe? It’s the question that everyone wants to know the answer to as we sit here wondering why we don’t have the checks he promised on Day 1. People (Not me, well I’m mad for a different reason) are mad because The Biden Administration gave unrealistic expectations to millions of people and folks WANT. THEIR. MONEY.

While much of the country is wondering where the money; I’m trying to figure out why Democrats are continuing to allow Republicans to control the narrative and hold them hostage. There are a lot of positives in Joe Biden’s $1.9 Trillion Recovery Plan, but no one’s talking about them. Public perception is a b-i-t-c-h and right now, it looks like the Democrats are being played. Even if they tell us they aren’t being played, it looks much different from over here. And how are you being played by a political party that is literally eating itself, fighting amongst itself to protect anarchists and reject half-way decent patriots? Do better!

We also pay our respects to Ms. Cicely Tyson and Mr. Hank Aaron. 2021 starting off real suspect.

Inauguration 2021! Donald Trump is no longer President of the United States. As happy as I am for Joe Biden, I’m MORE happy about the fact that he is no longer our president. I have waited for this day for four long years. Seriously. I am not exaggerating. It was a dark day when Donald Trump was sworn in and he didn’t take long to be the trash president I always thought he was going to be. But It’s A New Day! I’ve opened my eyes and the path is clearer! (Shout out to Patti Labelle)

I give a pretty deep dive into the inauguration, what it means for us as a country, what it means for me personally and what I am looking forward to most from the Biden Administration. There is a lot of work to be done and so far, they are off to a fast start. However, the world won’t be changed by Executive Order alone. Biden will have to work with Congress to really tackle the issues we are facing as a nation, but thankfully he has the experience to do so and a pretty bad-ass number 2 by his side. Expectations are high!

Oh, and we are giving flowers to Ms. Amanda Gorman’s, whose poem gave voice to the feelings of a nation! Stand up and take a bow young Queen. Oh, and Ted Cruz is still trash!

Welcome back! This is Episode 12 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed!

2021 has gotten off to a roaring start. New Congress, Who This? Even though there is nothing but drama on Capitol Hill, we’re starting off the new year by celebrating the good news coming out of Georgia. By winning BOTH Senate Run-Off Elections, the Democrats will officially have control of both the House and Senate when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn in on January 20th. You know what that means? NO MORE MITCH! While he may not technically be politically dead, being the minority leader is a far cry from being the majority leader and holding up every bill Democrats pass in the House. No more Bill Blocking.

The other big news of the week forced me to pivot mid-prep of my show and instead of talking about the Electoral College Certification, we have to address why America continues to be TRASH. This country cannot have nice things. Let me tell you why. RACISM.

Not letting our first episode end on a sour note, we show love and give flowers to Stacey Abrams and the other black women of Georgia that led the charge in turning that state Blue. What can we learn from their efforts?

OK, maybe not, but that was the feeling so many of us got when after 4 days of, “will he won’t he, will he won’t he” the election was finally called for Joseph R. Biden. From highlighting the reluctant media to the ass-backwards polling, in this episode we want to go into what shaped this election and how right WE were in predicting the outcome (I told y’all it would be 306-232 for Biden)!

And make no mistake about it, just because Biden won doesn’t mean the nightmare, or the work, is over. The election is not the end. It’s just the beginning. The real work begins now
