Taking action today for the needs of tomorrow
Doing business is becoming increasingly complex, with ever-changing societal and environmental issues that require our attention, in order for organisations to continue to thrive sustainably.
Sustainable innovation is about creating and integrating new business strategies, products, and services that accelerate positive social change and protect and preserve environmental integrity, whilst enhancing business performance. It is a process through which environmental, social and financial considerations are integrated into company systems, from idea generation through to research and development and commercialisation.
In this episode, Impact's Scott Rose is joined by Ryan Hamilton, Chief of Staff for the Environmental Defense Fund, to discuss how change can be influenced within our organisations.
A New Learning Organisation with Grahame Broadbelt
The issue for organisations isn’t that they are not learning organisations; it isn’t that they can’t learn. The issue is whether our organisations can actually learn something new.
Human-centred organisations are new learning organisations; they are committed to learning new things that change mindsets and behaviour, that help them to grow, to move beyond frozen mental models, identities, fears, and previous experiences.
But what does ‘new learning’ really mean?
In this episode, we listen to Impact’s Jo Appleby and Grahame Broadbelt as they discuss A New Learning Organisation.

Ecology is Everything with Grahame Broadbelt
No organisation is an island. Every organisation is intrinsically dependent for their success on the wider social, economic and environmental context, on both local and global scales. Human-centric organisations see no boundary between what is happening inside and outside their organisations; instead they see only relationships, interconnection and interdependence. In this episode, we join Impact's Jo Appleby and Grahame Broadbelt as they discuss why Ecology is Everything.

Human-centred Management & Leadership with Grahame Broadbelt
It’s a common misconception that leaders and managers are different roles, but in human-centered organisations, leaders and managers operate on the same continuum, defined less by their job title than the work that they do. Because leadership isn’t a character trait or a job title; it’s a special and particular form of action that anyone can take, at any time.
Join Impact’s Grahame Broadbelt and Jo Appleby as they discuss human-centered leadership and management.
The Importance of trust with Grahame Broadbelt
Extremely difficult to build, but quick and easy to erode - trust is the oil that makes relationships work. Listent to Impact’s Grahame Broadbelt and Jo Appleby discussing how organisations can foster an environment of trust, and why this enhances business performance.
To learn more and download the whitepaper, click here.
Human centred-change with Grahame Broadbelt
To successfully change an organisation people need the right conditions and the right motivators. Change initiatives that work are initiatives that start and end with people. Here Jo Appleby talks to Grahame Broadbelt about how to create those conditions and explore successful examples.

Challenge, innovation & change. Ft Alan Lane
Stories are everything. They help us understand the world and reflect on how we should live in it. They help us engage with the big unwieldy issues we encounter in our lives. At their best, they allow space for dialogue and celebrate collective experience.
In this storytelling episode, we hear from Alan Lane of Slung Low Theatre company. He shares a story of challenge, innovation and change associated with their relocation to the oldest working men’s club in Britain, The Holbeck in Leeds. Alan joins Impact’s head of creative change, Dom Fitch. Dom wrote an article about the power of storytelling, you can read that here.
A massive thank you to both Dom and Alan for taking the time to record their conversation for us.

"How can we be human when we're digital?" ft Alice Wroe
Should we be challenging the design of technology platforms to enable more accessible, inclusive consumption? How can we harness new technologies to transform the ability for employees to learn at the pace of change?
To learn about this and more, we listen in on a conversation between Hannah Baron & Alice Wroe. Hannah leads Impact’s in house digital design agency – Zinco. She and her team were integral to the creation of Impact’s own piece of learning technology, called air- a digital tool that would allow Impact to seamlessly take experiential learning to scale and deliver in both blended and virtual solutions.
In her role as Augmented and Virtual Realities Lead for Atlantic Institute, Alice researches and commissions innovative ways the global community of leaders can be together when physically apart, exploring the question of “How can we be human when we’re digital?”

Impact's digital transformation
Every organisation has had to embrace the digital world in some way. Here's our story about how we've done just that.
Shift Happens
All organisations are facing unprecedented changes in their competitive environment. Whether the disruptors are political, environmental, down to consumer expectations or unicorn start-ups, organisations need to be adaptive, agile, creative, innovative and more. The necessity for organisational transformation is critical.
The more people are involved in the Why, What and How of organisational change, the more they will own the future of their organisation.
Change is about learning – people learning to work differently or to do different work. So, what skills and mindsets will you need?
Impact work alongside organisations using our consulting frameworks to help find answers to these questions and release the full potential for lasting change within your organisation.
United we stand, divided we fall.
Is your team a high performing team? What does your team need in order to achieve its purpose?
Impact's Team Performance Inventory (TPI) is an assessment tool which helps a team see its performance clearly. Using the 6 domains of our trademarked Team Performance Model, we can help you equip your teams and their leaders with the tools, mindsets, self-knowledge and reflective capacity to build teams that are a joy to work in and that will boost the productivity of your organisation.
It works. And if your teams work, so does your organisation.
Leading remote and dispersed teams
It's no secret that COVID-19 has brought many challenges to our working world. With the increase of remote working, leadership is being tested. What can we do to stay more connected? What can we learn from this experience? Scott and Sue join Dan to share their experience and best practices.
Diaries of a task force leader
“I think fast, I talk fast, and I need you guys to act fast if you want to get out of this. So pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the f***** car!”
- Winston Wolf, Pulp Fiction
Extraordinary times call for extraordinary teams and potentially extraordinary leadership. That can be confusing when you have an established culture, but we all know in times of rapid change we don’t have long to make decisions. The better a team functions and the better clarity it has of its purpose the more likely it will be successful.
Andy joins Dan to talk through his experience of what it's been like leading a team through the extraordinary times due to COVID-19.

The what, why and how of coaching.
What is coaching? Why do we need it? What are the benefits of coaching?
Using our experiential learning approach, we partner with leaders to inspire, develop and maximise potential.
We offer a unique set of leadership coaching services that are designed to support leaders, managers, teams, project groups and networks.
We see in organisations everywhere that the skills and expertise that created success over the last 10 years are not the same as the ones that will create success in the decade ahead. For organisations to change, leaders need to change; to do that they need to become active learners and help others to learn. No learning, no change.
All our coaches have a wealth of coaching experience and participate in ongoing professional development. What makes Impact coaching uniquely effective is that all of our coaches are also leadership development experts, experiential learning designers, and expert group facilitators.
