Episode THREE: Lee and Flo on making Perfect Show For Rachel

Episode THREE: Lee and Flo on making Perfect Show For Rachel

Join Lee Co-Artistic Director of Improbable and Flo O'Mahony Artistic Director of Zoo Co as they chat about the processes behind making the ward-winning Perfect Show For Rachel to the Barbican Stage.

Rachel is a theatre-loving, enigmatic 31 year-old who loves Kylie Minogue, people falling over and heckling from the front row. She is a learning disabled care-home resident, and sister to Flo, Zoo Co’s artistic director. Perfect Show for Rachel was developed with Rachel, to create her ‘perfect show’ on her own terms. It explores who defines artistic taste, and questions who that currently excludes.

Hear Lee and Flo discuss where the idea for the show came from, how they created a process which celebrated Rachel's creativity and made them leave behind their own pre-conceptions about what makes 'good theatre'.

Perfect Show For Rachel has been created by Zoo Co, presented and co-produced by the Barbican, and supported by Improbable. The show won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award and is created with support from Arts Council England.

Perfect Show For Rachel will run at Barbican in the Pitt Theatre from 18 - 26 November 2022. Buy tickets here: https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/2022/event/zoo-co-theatre-perfect-show-for-rachel
