And just like that, it’s time for a new episode! On today’s show, two former guests (Joey Moser, of Awards Daily, and Ryan C Showers, host of “Scream with Ryan C Showers”) head back to chat about the season finale of the HBOmax hit series, “And Just Like That”. The fab trio discuss all the plot lines from season one that had everyone talking: the introduction of Che, the fabulous new characters of LTW and Seema, and the development of Charlotte’s relationship with her child, Rock. They also discuss Carrie Bradshaw getting her own podcast, all those incredible fashions from the season, and even speculate on how a season two might go.

Well listeners, the time has come to talk about the film that your host, Zacary Landolt, has been looking forward to for so long. That’s right…it’s time to talk about Scream 5! Or…Scream. Scream 2022? Honestly it’s a choose your own adventure for the title. On today’s show, of course Zacary is joined by Devyn Ray, who was here through most of the Scream franchise, so it only seemed correct that she’d be back for the final (for now) chapter of this iconic horror film series. Also just a SPOILER WARNING! They will be unpacking EVERYTHING in the film! So if you haven’t gone to see it yet, and don’t want to know who lives, does, or ends up at the killer…or killer(s)…then come back later! This movie is far too fun to have it be spoiled. So tune in for their chat about it all: the first opening, the scares, the newest additions to the cast, the return of Sidney/Gale/Dewey, the new directors, the GORE! It’s a Scream baby!

Similarly, on today’s show, we see a reunion of the panel from the Freddy Vs. Jason episode! That’s right, today we welcome good friend of the podcast, Tom Cornell, back to the show, and of course Devyn Ray is back! We all discuss the new cast of characters that is full of “2011 celebrities”, and unpack all of our thoughts. From the opening scene, to that doozy twist ending, we cover it all. #73. Sex and the City VS. And Just Like That (with Joey Moser)

Well listeners, if you must know, Sex and the City is one of your host’s favorite shows ever (warts and all). So of course with the release of the much anticipated continuation series, And Just Like That, there was bound to be an episode on the subject. Dropping by the show is an old friend of the podcast, Joey Moser, who’s a writer over at Awards Daily, and is also a hardcore SATC fan from way back. Today’s chat goes into the original series and what we loved about it (and what needed to be updated), and also the new series, and all that’s gone down so far. This is definitely a chat filled with spoilers if you haven’t watched the first three episodes of “And Just Like That” yet. So go get caught up, then head back over here for our fun chat about all that has gone down to far, the new additions to the cast, and of course, the factor of absence of Samantha Jones. So go grab a cosmo, or a mini bottle of Tito’s from your purse, and listen to all the chatter!

#71. Cooking show divas (with Nick Kochanov, host of “The Good Vanilla”)

#71. Cooking show divas (with Nick Kochanov, host of “The Good Vanilla”)

Listeners, as you know, this is a pop culture podcast, and if we talk about formative pop culture figures in my life, it definitely included some fabulous ladies of the culinary world. There’s something so soothing about being shown some delicious-looking food, in a kitchen we will never be able to afford. For today’s episode we welcome to the show a podcaster whose show is all about the gay icon, and culinary marvel that is, Ina Garten! So he was a perfect person to have on to talk about cooking show divas. From Ina, to Nigella Lawson, or even the iconic Martha Stewart, there have been so many women who’ve made their personal stamp on the genre of the cooking show. We talk about what makes them special, which recipes we love to make, and somehow even end up ranting about the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked”. Also Nick talks about his fantastic podcast, “The Good Vanilla”, and he gets to experience our recurring segment, “your birth in pop culture”!

#64. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th (2009)

#64. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th (2009)

Well listeners, this week we learned a lesson from this film, which was, “don’t ever trust Michael Bay with anything”.
Today, Zacary and Devyn are talking about the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th. It somehow manages to deflate any real mystery from the story, and commits the ultimate crime of explaining TOO MUCH.
But don’t worry, because the only thing more fun to talk about than a good remake, is a BAD remake! Zacary and Devyn dive into the characters, screenplay, goofs, kills, and the man himself, Jason Vorhees!
Also if you have a fear of dying in a sleeping bag, then this film is a serious trigger warning!
As always, your favorite duo give out their personal picks for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”!

#63. Film Fridays: Jason X

Well campers, we’re getting a little bored with Camp Crystal Lake. How about we head to space? Grab your machetes and let’s go! Today we are talking about sequel that sent Jason Vorhees to the final frontier. Devyn has been very excited to get to this particular movie, and It was Zacary’s first time watching, so it was a party! This movie is some really good, dumb fun, and it’s the only sequel to feature android nipples! Zacary and Devyn discuss the wacky dialogue, all the wild death scenes, and as always, give their personal picks for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”! So hop aboard the spacecraft campers!

#62. Film Fridays: Jason Goes to Hell- The Final Friday

Hey campers! As always, we’re headed down to Camp Crystal Lake, to get into the latest misadventures with Jason Vorhees. But this sequel is an odd one, as it technically features people posessssed by Jason Vorhees. Does it count as a satisfying last chapter for the franchise ? Tune in to hear Zacary and Devyn get into it! As always, they close things out by giving their picks for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”!

#61. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 8- Jason Takes Manhattan

It's time to climb aboard a boat with Jason, and an endless supply of teen targets, and head to the city that never sleeps! Anyone who's been listening to this series knows that Zacary has been so excited for this sequel in the franchise, and after seeing it, he can only say that he was...disappointed.

For a film that relies on a gimmick, and even has the city name included in the title, it sure does take a long time to even arrive there. Zacary and Devyn discuss this wild sequel that includes rockers, drug visions, unbothered New Yorkers on the subway, and a cranky waitress.

As always, they close things out by giving their picks for "scream queen of the week", and "kill of the week"! So come on campers, start spreading the news! Jason wants to be a part of it. New York, New York!

#60. Messy Mondays: "I warned you!"

#60. Messy Mondays: "I warned you!"

Well listeners, they gave you fair warning, and now the time has come for Zacary and Tom to float away, and continue to have messy Mondays somewhere else! But they have one last fun show before they go, and don't worry, they have all of the details so you'll know how to follow them on their new adventure!

Also, to keep things light and fun, we start off the episode with a discussion about narcissism in the gay community. Woohoo!

Later in the show, they also answer some questions from reddit, and Zacary talks about a messy moment of his own! So come join the last show on In Another World!

#59. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 7- The New Blood

Hey campers! It’s time to head down to Crystal lake again, for the newest recap of Friday the 13TH. This week, we’re covering the 7th entry, Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood

Apparently this was the movie that one of the producers wanted to “win an Academy Award”. SPOILER ALERT: it did not, in fact, win any Academy Awards.

This is the first movie in the series that brought another supernatural element into play, namely, telekinesis. Imagine “Carrie vs. Jason”, and you’ve pretty much got the idea of this one. It’s a wild ride, and Zacary and Devyn had a blast talking about it.

As always, they give their personal picks for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”!

#58. Messy Mondays: The Airbnb Fiasco

#58. Messy Mondays: The Airbnb Fiasco

This week, Zacary starts off the episode with a “messy moment” of his own. Tom’s waited days to hear the tale of the disastrous Airbnb, and why not just air it out on the pod, because after all, that’s what the show is all about. After Zacary’s saga, they dive into Tom’s current love of the Gossip Girl reboot, Drag Race All Stars 6, and a million other topics. And as always they dive into some stories, and questions from the web!

#57. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 6- Jason Lives

It’s time for, yet another, trip down to Crystal Lake, only this time, let’s just call it “Forrest Green”. Partners on this horror journey, Zacary and Devyn, dive into the sixth entry into the Friday the 13th film franchise, and the first one that truly seems to be aware of just how goofy and fun these films can be. They discuss all of the hilariously meta moments, and character cliches, that really let us know that the filmmakers knew what they were doing. As always they close out the episode by giving their picks for, “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”! So come on campers, let’s head down to Camp Crystal Lake. And yes, this movie finally has actual campers!

#56. Messy Mondays: Tom and Zacary recorded a theme song

#56. Messy Mondays: Tom and Zacary recorded a theme song

It’s time for another edition of Messy Mondays, and since Tom and Zacary discussed the topic of jobs last week, they figured they would start things off with the very light topics of death, and the year of 2020. Don’t worry, they find a way to somehow make jokes and get some levity into the program.

They also talk about the upcoming theme song that will be feature on the spin off pod, thats coming soon. It was written by Tom, and you’ll get to hear the misadventures of Zacary recording a vocal track.

And later in the show, they read some stores from the internet about everything from a guy who wants to explore the male spectrum of his bisexuality (much to the hatred of his “girlfriend”), to another bigger question about what happens when dating starts to feel harder when you’re a gay person over the age of thirty.

It’s a fun time on the show today, everyone!

#55. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 5- A New Beginning

#55. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 5- A New Beginning

It’s time for another “Film Fridays”, and another trip down to our beloved Crystal Lake. As always, we’re joined by “the queen of the spooky”, Devyn Ray, to unpack all of the crazy that lies in this fifth installment into the Friday the 13th film franchise. Zacary and Devyn discuss the continuing story of a now teenage Tommy Jarvis, from the last film, as he meets a truly 80’s-tastic group of misfits.
This movie is packed with so many horror tropes, and too many characters to care about. Also, somehow there is a lot of ranting about the musical, “Guys and Dolls” (just as a warning).
And of course, like they always do, they award their personal choices for the honors of “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”. So let’s go campers! Slash just kidding, we still somehow haven’t seen any campers in this film series…

#54. Messy Mondays: A Talk About…Jobs

#54. Messy Mondays: A Talk About…Jobs

It's Monday, so Zacary and Tom are joining up again for another edition of, "Messy Mondays". After a particularly entertaining rant about the Olsen twins, your hosts dive into an honest chat about their work histories. The bad bosses, the awful customers, the wild coworkers, they go into ALL of it.
And after that chat they go into the "Messy Mondays" segment, which includes, questions about relationships, as well as a story about a truly awful kisser!
So tune in listeners, and be sure to catch the announcement, at the top of the episode, about the future of the show!

#53. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 4- The Final Chapter

It’s time to head to Crystal Lake again, to spend some more time with our boy, Jason Vorhees! We’ve reached the fourth entry in the Friday the 13th film series, which adds 80’s child star, Corey Feldman, to the mix. It also wouldn’t be a Friday the 13th movie without a fresh crop of teens to terrorize! There’s even an appearance from the ever kooky, Crispin Glover! Tune in to hear all of our thoughts on this entry that was originally intended to be the last in the franchise. Also you’ll find out who Zacary was crushing on hardcore, while watching this goofy sequel. And as always, hosts Zacary Landolt and Devyn Ray, give their picks for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”!

#52. Messy Mondays: “I’d rather die, than be wet!”

It’s time for another edition of “Messy Mondays”, and on today’s show Zacary and Tom are taking a trip down memory lane, through their respective dating lives. They talk about men who love to ghost, ones who can’t read a room, and men who just generally act a fool. They also close things out with a few “messy moments” from the web.

#51. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 3

#51. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th Part 3

It's Friday again, which means it's time to head back to Crystal Lake, to spend another "Film Fridays" with Jason! This week, host Zacary Landolt, and guest co-host, Devyn Ray, discuss (and roast) the third installment in this franchise.

When this movie was released it was presented with 3-D technology, which means a whole lot of visual gags. One would argue that it's hard to present a discussion that properly shows off the crazy that is all of the 3-D shots, on a podcast. And you would be right. So there aren't a ton of clips this week, campers, because it's hard to hear popcorn shooting at the screen.

This movie is truly 80's time capsule. As always, Zacary and Devyn declare their picks for "scream queen of the week", and "kill of the week"!

Let's go on this wild ride, ya'll!

#50. Messy Mondays: "Will & Grace gays"

#50. Messy Mondays: "Will & Grace gays"

It’s time to jump into another edition of “Messy Mondays”, for Monday, July 5th. This week, hosts Zacary Landolt, and Tom Cornell discuss this weeks episode of Rupaul’s Drag Race: All stars 6, Fear Street 1994, and other pop culture moments from the past week.

Later, in the official Messy Mondays segment, they get into a discussion about masculinity in the LGBTQ community, and they talk about the art of taking a compliment. Zacary has a letter from someone online who is being set up on a date from their fraternity brother, and Tom reads a letter from someone who’s boyfriend is definitely on the needy side. As always, they offer their advice, and remind the listeners that they are absolutely NOT licensed medical professionals.

#48. Messy Mondays: "Oh sweetie, I think you're just young"

Well it was a busy week in pop culture, so that means a jam-packed Messy Mondays! Your hosts Zacary and Tom, discuss the intense revelations in the Britney Spears court case, the coming out of NFL star Carl Nissib, and they unpack some thoughts about the premiere of Rupaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 6.

Tom also rants about a recent binge of the Peacock original comedy, Girls5Eva, much to the delight of Zacary, who has already been beaming with gay love for the new show that stars: Sara Bareilles, Busy Phillips, Paula Pell, and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

And they give their thoughts/advice to a queer person questioning if there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to celebrate Pride, and to a poor young thing that is attracted to their friend, and doesn’t know how to approach it. Zacary also dishes a couple anonymous secrets!

#47. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th (1980)

#47. Film Fridays: Friday the 13th (1980)

Well it isn’t exactly Friday the 13th, but today seems as good a Friday as any to start a journey through our next horror franchise! Devyn Ray is back to go through every movie in the Friday the 13th series. We start with the film that started it all in 1980. Before Jason was taking Manhattan, or journeying to space, it was just a simple low budget horror movie, cashing in on the success of the movie Halloween. This first film is wild. It has lots of sex, strange camera angles, sweaters in summer, and Kevin Bacon! Zacary and Devyn go into all of the gory details, and as usual, they give out their awards for “scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”!

#46. Messy Mondays- “The Vizzy Auhn”

It’s time for another Messy Mondays, with Zacary and Tom! This week on the show: Tom spills about meeting Marina, for a virtual meet and greet, Zacary plays the new trailer for M. Night Shamaylan’s upcoming movie, “Old”, and they both go on a rant about vintage trashy reality tv. And because it’s Monday, they spill some (anonymous) secrets from people on the internet, which include someone who curiously schedules their sleeping pills, and a queer person reveals their revenge on a high school bully. They also give some advice to someone with a crush.

#45. Film Fridays: Urban Legends- Final Cut (with Devyn Ray)

#45. Film Fridays: Urban Legends- Final Cut (with Devyn Ray)

If you had fun last week with our deep dive into the late 1990’s slasher horror gem, “Urban Legend”, then you’re in for something wild, as we cover the 2000 sequel, “Urban Legends: final cut”. One of the only horror movies that I can think of that’s set at a film school. Tune in, to hear us roast this logic-free, uneven mess of a movie. Luckily we at least have returning favorite from the first film, Loretta Devine, who again plays Reese, the security guard that’s not really amazing at her job. As always we close things out by giving our picks for “Scream queen of the week”, and “kill of the week”.

#44. TV Tuesdays: Smash S1 E12 "Publicity" (with Joey Moser)

#44. TV Tuesdays: Smash S1 E12 "Publicity" (with Joey Moser)

It's TV Tuesdays, which means that it's time to talk about "Smash", and so of course we have lovely guest Joey Moser (writer/reporter at Awards Daily) returning to go into this wild episode.
We've got Uma Thurman's character being very vocal about her peanut allergy, Karen singing Snow Patrol, and an elaborate Bollywood number, that maybe hasn't aged the best.
And as always we close things out with awards points to Ivy or karen, on the "Marilyn leaderboard". This week, in a twist on the usual closing segment where I usually award my "Karen moment of the week", I'll actually be shouting out a "Leo moment of the week"!

This week on the show, they play movie trailers for each other, of “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” (Zacary’s pick), and “Space Jam 2” (Tom’s pick). Tom also lets us know all of his thoughts about the new Marina album that dropped before recording!

They also comment on the major moment in pop culture that occurred, in the end of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. It’s truly hard to remember what life was like before it.

Zacary also drops more casting news about the upcoming HBO MAX produced “Sex and the City” reboot: “And Just Like That”.

And they dive into some “messy moments” from some anonymous users from REDDIT, and they do their best to solve their problems. Do they succeed? Well you’ll have to listen and find out!

#42. FILM FRIDAYS: Urban Legend (with Devyn Ray)

#42. FILM FRIDAYS: Urban Legend (with Devyn Ray)

It's always a party when Devyn Ray drops in to talk about horror, and this week we're covering a film that is one of the less popular slasher films of the late 90's: Urban Legend! It boasts a cast that includes; Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, Tara Reid, Loretta Devine, Brad Dourif, and even our beloved Robert England.

This film may not be a perfect one, but it sure is a lot a fun to watch, and gab about. We talk about all of the urban legends included in the plot of this horror gem, and discuss one of the greatest villain reveals in modern cinema (too much praise? I think not).

And as we do with all of our horror movies on film Fridays, we declare our picks for "scream queen of the week", and highlight our choices for "kill of the week"!

And she doesn’t waste any time In this episode, which is entitled, “The Movie Star”! And for such a fun episode I had to bring my fun Judy (and cohost of the podcast “Two Gays Watch”), Arron Holman. We dive into all of the fun with Uma, and unpack all sorts of things in this week’s episode, including the gross, toxic boyfriend energy from Dev this week. Also, can’t Tom and Sam just have sex? And of course, we throw some points on the “Marilyn leaderboard”, and I highlight my “Karen moment of the week”. So come on listeners, let’s really “dig deep” (forgive the poor quality joke) into Smash, episode 11!

#39. TV TUESDAYS: Smash S1 E10- "Understudy" (with Joey Moser)

#39. TV TUESDAYS: Smash S1 E10- "Understudy" (with Joey Moser)

It’s Tuesday! Which means its time to talk about SMASH! And it also means if you’ve been following our recaps over the past few weeks, then it should come as no surprise that I’m joined by Joey Moser!

Joey drops in to talk about episode 10, “Understudy”, which teases the arrival of Rebecca Duvall AKA Uma Thurman.

This episode features a lot of light plot, but it somehow is also super dense. Oh, the world of Smash strikes again!

Tune in to see what happens with John (the boring, republican lawyer) and Tom, Julia and her husband, Ivy and the show, and see if Karen makes any hot dogs!

As always, we close things out by adding points to the Marilyn Leaderboard, and I highlight my “Karen moment of the week”.

#38. FILM FRIDAYS: Black Swan (with Tom Cornell)

#38. FILM FRIDAYS: Black Swan (with Tom Cornell)

Well it’s time for another edition of film Fridays, and I was so excited to invite my dear friend (and former guest on the show) Tom Cornell onto the pod, to talk about the 2010 psychological horror film, Black Swan! Tom is not someone I usually associate with film discussion, mostly because he almost never watches them! So we went quite a journey with this one. We both have a tendency to riff, and go off on tangents, so it was for sure a longer episode than usual. But honestly, I think you’ll love it as much as I do. Hear us talk about everything from the return of Winona Ryder, Nina’s flip phone, Mila Kunis giving zero fucks, and you’ll hear me attempt a French accent. I also play one of my favorite awards show moments from the year Black Swan came out (nervous laughter), and we will give our thoughts on this movie’s damn ending.

#36. FILM FRIDAYS: A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

#36. FILM FRIDAYS: A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

Well listeners, after many weeks, my guest cohost Devyn Ray, and myself, have finally reached the end of our journey through the Elm Street franchise. Unfortunately, our last entry is the Michael Bay- produced remake from 2010, starring Rooney Mara (before her dragon tattoo). This remake definitely loses all of the cheeky fun of all the previous entries, but Devyn and I at least had fun dragging it, and all it’s atrocities, on this podcast. As always, we award our “scream queen of the week”, and each highlight our choices for “kill of the week”.

#35. TV TUESDAYS: Smash S1 E8- "The Coup" (with Joey Moser)

#35. TV TUESDAYS: Smash S1 E8- "The Coup" (with Joey Moser)

It's time for another "TV Tuesdays", and I'm so excited to welcome back to the show, Joey Moser, to dive into episode 8, "The Coup". This week's episode finds Karen, Derek, and Eileen being sneaky and putting a demo together behind Tom and Julia's backs! Also featured in episode 8 are special guest stars Grace Gummer, and One Republic's Ryan Tedder.
Joey and I dive into all of the crazy in this episode, which includes almost no music, way too much non-Broadway plot lines, and a truly insane number at a bowling alley.
As always we close out things with adding more points to the "Marilyn Leaderboard", and I present my "Karen moment of the week".

#34. FILM FRIDAYS: Wes Craven's New Nightmare

It's time for another Film Fridays! It's time for the Elm Street series to go Hollywood meta! It's time to talk about the wild movie that is, Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

This film saw a full circle moment, with actors from the original film coming back as theirselves! Wes Craven is a horror genius for sure, but I wouldnt be shocked to find out that he smoked a few joints before having the dreams that inspired this movie.

Tune in to hear me (your host, Zacary Landolt), and my lovely guest cohost ("Queen of the Spooky") Devyn Ray, as we unpack all of the interesting bits of New Nightmare. As always we close out our conversation with the crowning of our "scream queen of the week", and highlighting our personal picks for, "kill of the week".

So lets head to Hollywood, and hangout with the ultimate Hollywood A-lister: Freddy Krueger!

#33. TV TUESDAYS: Smash S1 E7- “The Workshop” (with Steven Rice)

Everything’s coming up roses, on “tv Tuesdays” this week! Because episode seven, of Smash season one, sees Broadway icon, Bernadette Peters enter the picture! Also an old friend of the show, triple threat, Steven Rice, drops in to help recap, and discuss this weeks episode. He gives his perspective, as a McPhee STAN, and goes off on a few tangents (which we love right?). And as always, points get added to the “Marilyn leaderboard”, and the “Karen moment of the week” gets revealed. So get ready for this Bernadette love fest, and come tune in!

#32. FILM FRIDAYS: Freddys Dead- The Final Nightmare

It’s time for Film Fridays, and for the death of Freddy Kruger. We’ve reached the film in the “Elm Street” that technically showed the end of the original franchise. Devyn and I go into all of the wild twists and turns in this insane movie. The shenanigans from Freddy start to reach the level of looney toons, with more than a few winks to the audience. It’s truly a wild one, so tune in to hear all of our thoughts. And as always we give our honors for “scream queen of the week”, as well as, “kill of the week”!

#30. FILM FRIDAYS: A Nightmare on Elm Street 5- The Dream Child

Is it a boy? Or a girl? NEITHER, it’s Freddy baby! We’re back with our next Elm Street entry, and this one is maybe the wildest one yet (which is saying something). This film contains some pretty awesome makeup, and visual effects, as well as, some pretty killer Freddy Krueger one liners. As always, your two tour guides down Elm Street (Zacary Landolt, and Devyn Ray) reveal their honorary “scream queen of the week”, and highlight their “kill of the week!”.
