The Independent artist show, broadcast 214: Candy L. Keith Hinton, and more
Welcome to broadcast 204 of the Independent artist show. My name is Jared Rimer, and we've got a packed show for you. Studio4632, a net label on Bandcamp, recently lost their founder Candy L. In her memory, the community recently released an album entitled A Last Sunset- A Celebration of Candy Lozier- Volume 1. We're also going to play an album entitled Scenes From A Forest which was done by Cousin Silas with her. Also, in the forgotten category, Scott Lawlor released a hidden gem that he found and released this year. A Process of Transformation is in between two albums, and the album is three tracks long. "Scott Lawlor returns to eM with a deeply personal album about love and loss. The work herein is Scott at his absolute finest, and is best described by the artist himself. "The idea that something is dying needs to be investigated to see what it is. It is not we who are really dying but only the false self that is experiencing the end of its illusory view of life — our personal, homemade self, which has been the object of our efforts and is secretly present in virtually all of our good deeds." This is only a portion of the notations themselves. Click on the link where you can read, and buy this album. Included is also a PDF file with pictures and notes within it as well. We're also going to have some other music by a wide range of artists as well. The Last Sunset album is 3 hours alone, so there is no way we're going to feature every track. Here is the Email I received through Scott Lawlor. "Hi friends and fans. Please forgive the above average communications lately but I wanted to bring an album to your attention, one that I have a track on, but, more importantly than that, a collection of tracks that honors the memory of Candy Lozier who passed on from this world in September. As a lot of you know, she was a great supporter of the music community, owner of studio4632.bandcamp.com and a terrific composer and improviser in her own right." There are 296 releases on this label, check them out and support the work of this label. Underneath that, is the link which we've linked above. We can't forget Keith Hinton who submitted two tracks to us as well. We sent him everything we've got, and he has been in communication with the network by Twitter direct message. Thanks Keith for the music, and for communicating with us. I hope you'll enjoy today's program and thanks so much for listening! For the playlist, go to our blog as posting it here will cut it quite close to character limits. I'll also have them on this blog which is my personal blog as well. Thanks for listening!

The Independent artist show, broadcast 197: recollecting the snow
Hello, welcome to broadcast 197 of the independent artist show. On this program, please find some discussion of varying types, a very interesting track I think is appropriate for this time of year, and some catching up on comments. For those who want, please find contact information for me and utalize it. I can't do this alone. Also on today's program, I'll talk about the next upcoming independent artist spotlight, where I was put in contact with an artist, but yet, the artist requested to have the music baught due to copright concerns. I'll talk about that, as well. Now, please find below, the playlist of today's program. From the familiar to the unheard. On today's program, we bring you Recollecting the Snow by Scott Lawlor & Rebekkah Hilgraves which turns out to be a concept album which came from an article. The link to the article is on the page that is linked to the album and track that is in this set. The track itself is 1 hour, 4 minutes, and the story is quite chilling. I'm playing it today because of the continuing freeze that parts of the country are still in, and since I've not played this track in awhile, I end the program with it. Your comments are well welcome with this. I've already put it up on board 177, the independent artist board as well as the weather board on board 242 on Live wire. Learn more about Live wire here. I think that this track is still rellivant today. Scott Lawlor & Rebekkah Hilgraves Recollecting the Snow 1:04:09 This completes the program, thanks so much for listening!

The Independent artist spotlight for February 9, 2019
On the 74th edition of the spotlight, we're going to play an artist that I've been neglection status for some time. They contacted me in July of 2018, and finally we're going to play them today. Also, some of my favorites. They contacted me through the artist submission page on the mix and I want to see what people think. CityFedelia Part raw, street poet and soulful RnB singer, City Fidelia is an artist whose music and storytelling defies traditional labels.   An Ottawa native, now residing in Toronto, the rapper/songwriter’s humble upbringing is naturally woven into the fabric of his music and the stories he tells through his art. City’s ability to be vulnerable and authentic in his lyricism, telling stories about his own struggles and the unspoken nuances of modern life, is grounded in his goal to inspire inner-city youth to leave the path of hardship in order to pursue their dreams. He also spearheads Ensemble, a collective of creatives in music, fashion and art working on a singular mission: to bring people together and teach that anything is possible through art. With so many exciting ideas and so much music lined up, Fidelia, is ready to stick his head out and establish his name in the industry, in his own inimitable way. Playlist is on our blog for your convenience. Due to a technical error, the playlist can't be posted on this episode.

The independent artist spotlight, podcast 70
On this edition of today's program, Michelle Qureshi is back with some new material/. She contacted me after I baught the album that was featured last podcast. Also, I was on Magnatune's app, and decided to see what new world artists I'd like to get that I don't have. Da Camera is an ensemble group that hales from London. It is described on Magnatune as: Celtic renaissance/baroque ensemble and it definitely has some great tracks on the only album they have. The profile is short, but is also informational. The next artist I got that sounded good is Katrina Wreede who lives in California. Katrina has an impressivbe biography, doing lots of vvarious things including teaching, performing, and creating. Magnatune describes her as: From fun and jazzy to moody and melancholic and it definitely may have something for everyone. Wade also has comments in regards to the last program, and we'll play it as well. Have comments, questions, or want to say hi? Go to the Contact the DJ's page through the mix, to contact me. The Inpdenendent artist spotlight, broadcast 67: two acappella groups
On this edition of the program, which is broadcast 67, we are having two acappella artists that have two different styles of music. One Jewish, one Christian and Christmas. Where applicable, we've provided information taken from the linked pages to the artists. Enjoy! Shir Soul Originally formed in 2005, Shir Soul Jewish a cappella is a soulful mix of pop, rock and contemporary music with a modern flare. They blend traditional a cappella sounds with original lyrics, creating a fusion that is truly unique. With the ability to take traditional tunes and spin them in a whole new musical way, Shir Soul has created a sound and genre that is truly unique. Having performed all over the United States and internationally, Shir Soul is as exciting live as their music sounds. With nearly 1 million views to date on YouTube, their videos have received a great of attention from the Jewish community and beyond. Acapeldridge I'm a pharmacist by trade, but I've always had a love for singing that was likely gained through years of worshiping with my family in church, singing a cappella hymns. I continued to sing as I grew older (and as my voice grew a little deeper), in high school and in college at Purdue. Acapeldridge has been a wonderful way for me to continue sharing my loves for singing and a cappella hymns. What started as a hobby in May of 2017 quickly grew in to a passion. My process is fairly humble; I record all of my music at home in a walk-in closet. My two greatest desires are to serve my Creator with the gifts and opportunities He's given me, and to preserve these wonderful, classic hymns for another generation. For a complete playlist, Go to my live journal por our mix blog and enjoy!

The Independent artist spotlight, broadcast 66: Magnatune Independent Holiday
Hello everyone! Welcome to the Independent artist spotlight show for Saturday, December 15, 2018. I've started this program off with an announcement about this show when it comes to Anchor, and something I'm working to resolve. As we have the holidays, and we've also got other commitments as well, the change will be good for all of us, right? If I can resolve the technical issues in the new year, or come up with a solution to upload the show in segments to resolve these issues, than I can commit to 4 full hours. We start the show with a few non-holiday tracks, but our goal is to talk about and play Jewish and Christmas music mainly from the Magnatune collection for this show. Wade's also commented, and my goal is to get all of these in place for a future show, Wade, thanks for listening. If you want to view the artists in which we're talking about as part of today's program, please go to the Magnatune artists listing page and select any artist in which you're interested in. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please use the contact the DJ's page on the Mix to allow yourself the opportunity to use the method that best suits your needs. The audio also avails you with the contact info as well. If you've got personal info, you may use that. Now, the playlist of today's show. Enjoy the program! Broadcastt 183 of the Independent artist show
Hi all, welcome to broadcast 182 of the independent artist show. This week, new material from new and old artists alike. We also play a bunch of other stuff. I hope you enjoy! Set 1: Six13 Schar Mitzvah / Hineni B'yadcha / Ahalello (feat. Mordechai Shapiro) 05:55 Shira Kline Maccabee March 01:12 Rising Appalachia Fly Around my Pretty Lil' Miss 04:24 David Grover Blood Of The Maccabees 02:59 Acappella When You're There 04:28 Set 2: Notes: John Cabrera lives in Tennessee. We don't know anything about him as there is no profile available, but he's put in the category of New Age. The album "Themes For Your Imagination - vol 1" is a good CD to have, I've listened to it. Released on Magnatune at the end of October, along with several others we're covering today, I like the sound, seems right, and the first track of this album seems like it can be done for a movie. I can't wait for volume 2. Album notes: "Vol.1 of Themes for Imagination features lush soundscapes and soaring musical themes. Blending various genres of music with orchestral instruments to produce a purely unique, yet contemporary sound and emotion. Your imagination is the only limit!" The Independent artist show, broadcast 182: music, and discussion on the news
This show is 164 mb, and was a great show. Here are the notes and playlist. This is broadcast 182 of the Independent artist show. On this show, we've got some thoughts on yesterday's horrific events, this time, another shooting. I'll be playing a wide variety of music including a new release by our friend, Scott Lawlor. I preordered this album, and I then just downloaded it today. I hope you'll enjoy today's program. The article: The Mass Shootings: What can we do in regards to the bigger problem? was written a year ago. I believe this article also fits this years full of events, including yesterday's tragedy. From KNX, Suspected Gunman in Massacre of 11 in Pittsburgh Synagogue Told Police 'I Just Want to Kill Jews' may want to be read if you wish to do so. Read these at your own time, and do contact me with your thoughts and comments. After the 2nd track, I give my brief thoughts, but I want people to think about this, and do something of importance. If you see something, say something. The Independent artist spotlight, broadcast 61
Hello folks, on today's program, I look to do two artists. Elizabeth Wolff has an album entitled Moments Musicaux which we took from in an earlier broadcast. It is requested that we play this artist again but talk about her and play the album in full. It is described on Magnatune as "19th century classical piano" and I definitely like the album. The profile last I read it was very extensive, so I'll leave it here for you to go and get and read. Kitka is described on Magnatune as "Eastern european women's vocal music." I really enjoy this group, and there are multiple albums for you to enjoy. Each have their own sound, and each is good in its own way.
