Sweat Tech and more with Andy Blow - Ep. #82

Sweat Tech and more with Andy Blow - Ep. #82

Sport Scientist and co-founder of Precision Fuel & Hydration, Andy Blow, joins us to discuss some of the emerging wearable technology that may (or may not!) help athletes be more proactive in their hydration and electrolyte replenishment strategies.

We also ask for Andy’s interpretation on a recent scientific paper authored by Dr. Alan McCubbin that proposes a mathematical modeling technique for determining whether athletes should pursue sweat composition testing or more targeted hydration and sodium replenishment strategies, or go by taste.

Lastly, it’s summer for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Who is at risk for heat stress? Tune in to learn more!

More about our guest:

Andy Blow is a Sports Scientist and the founder of Precision Fuel & Hydration. Andy was formerly an elite-level triathlete who can count top-10 IRONMAN finishes and an Xterra Age-Group World title to his name. It was during his racing career that he discovered how personalizing your own carb, electrolyte and fluid intake can make such a big difference to performance, and this led to him setting up precisionfuelandhydration.com - a company that specializes in helping athletes nail their fueling and hydration strategies for training and competing.

Andy has a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Bath, UK. He currently lives in Christchurch, Dorset, in the UK with wife Lucy and their 2 young children Bobby and Bethany.
