e32 Creativity & Growth through Movement & Play, with Katharina Dodel

e32 Creativity & Growth through Movement & Play, with Katharina Dodel

Cartwheels, making up stories and curiously asking questions, Katharina Dodel is convinced that this is not something only reserved for kids. She's sure: We humans are made for movement, for being active. We stay awake and healthy if we continually encourage and challenge our body and mind.

Through playing she brings it both together as an endless, constant recombining of possibilities.

Without comparison and judgment – but with joy and ease. This became the slogan of her work around „wampediboo", her playful orbit where she offers Yoga, Movement Play and Handstand classes.

Besides playing with the body, Katharina plays with words as a journalist or when writing poetry and prose.

In this episode we talk about what role does movement play in Katharina's life, how she enriches her movement practice from yoga and vice versa., building a community of creative movement practice, and the story behind Wampediboo!

e12 Fairy Tales Retold with Stephan Kalinski

e12 Fairy Tales Retold with Stephan Kalinski

For as long as we remember, human kind has been fascinated with stories and story telling. Myths, Sagas, and fairy tales (among others) try to capture the collected wisdom of the ages and package it in a sometimes straight up, and at other times allegorical wrapping.

If you have read some old fairy tales and wondered what the authors were thinking, you're not alone. Stephan Kalinski started thinking about the values fairy tales portray and whether those values could be updated. His answer was yes, and he set out to re-tell the fairy tales for the modern times.

In this episode, we talk about the immensity of the task of retelling classics without spoiling them; the thought process that goes into changing words, concepts, and names; Stephan's vision for FairyTalesRetold, and a fair bit about the entrepreneurial effort behind going from an idea to making this project a reality.
