Ep 36: Bicycle Thieves
Ep 35: The Good Shepherd
An actor directing a film?
What a preposterous notion I hear you say!
I won't have it!
I can't accept it!
Well, that's exactly what martin & ølund attempt to wrangle this week on It's Not That Deep Bro as they watch Robert DeNiro's directorial opus "The Good Shepherd".
In an unprecedented double billing, 247 Studios alumni Brogan handles the smooth sounds on the tail end of this slice of pre-recorded sonic slop with his remix of Teardrops by Portishead.
As always, a thousand thank you's for listening and please, take good care of yourself.

Ep 29: Ed Wood
Yes, The Worst Film Director in The World, was the title Edward earned for himself and Mr Burton, through his film, has allowed us to peruse and empathise with Edward's tale at our own leisure.
Join us for the chat and stick around at the end for some audible chocolate ;)
Ep 28: Tampopo
Today's episode is a lesson in respect.
Respect for your food.
Respect for your work &
Respect for yourself.
Ølund and Martin take a good hard look at themselves after watching Juzo Itami's "Ramen Western" Tampopo.
Ep 27: Grave Of The Fireflies
Ep 26: GoodFellas
Ep 25: Gods Of Egypt
A film Martin has seen that Ølund has not!
Alex Pradas's 2016 Ancient Epic takes on the world of Ancient Egypt with open arms and even takes it to strange new places it possible never should have been taken.
A juxtaposition of feelings this week on It's Not That Deep Bro rounded off with our good pal Jafro and his banger of a track called "Forces" to suit the spiritual tone!
Ep 24: Zodiac
We end this weeks show with our good pal CJ Pandit and his new single "Right Person, Wrong Time".
Ep 23: Arrival
Watch for yourself and then come join us for the chat!
End Music: holiday bluez by ølund
Ep 22: Kids
It is a film that is firmly grounded in reality, which at times is almost too much to bare.
Rich with 1990's skateboard culture and all the music and fashion that comes with that period, Kids certainly wears it’s heart on it’s sleeve and whilst that might be too much for some I still highly recommend you take the time to see what Mr Fincher is trying to say.
Ep 21: Do The Right Thing
Ep 20: Kanye West on JRE
The conversation runs hot as each host finds a different take on the many points that were made over the course of the 3 hour episode, is Kanye a mentally ill menace to society or an empathetic revolutionary with a vision to save the planet?
You decide.
In closing we have one of MIPLTD's favourite songs of 2020, Save Some Love by HOFU and as for your time, we are in your debt.

Ep 19: Men In Black & Ufology Continued
Barry Sonnenfeld's 1997 Sci-Fi epic, "Men In Black" touches on all the tropes a good film regarding aliens must do if it is to call itself a well researched dive in the murky waters of Ufology and MIB does not disappoint, mostly due to the oversight of the role of Executive Producer that goes to Mr Steve Spielberg.
We conversate over all that and more whilst local talent Jafro closes the show with a production put together by himself and MIP's own ølund back in 2017 called "Banaki".
As always, thank you for you time and we hope you are keeping well.

Ep 17: Chinatown
On this particular occasion we discuss Roman Polanski's harrowingly relevant 1974 Noir Classic "Chinatown", amongst other such topics of recent interest.
Playing us out, we have the dulcet tones of brogan and his remix of HO.FU's "Proud of Me" and as always, we appreciate you taking the time out of your day to listen to our nonsense.

Ep 16: Pinocchio
Disney's Pinocchio is an allegorical tale of alchemical proportions.
Detailing the harshities a young man must face entering the world, naive Pinocchio, a wooden puppet, falls victim to malevolent tricksters and sinister characters and gets taken away to a far away land called Pleasure Island where sin and iniquity is in abundance.
It is here he realises the error of his ways, vows to listen to his conscious and become reunited with his estranged father.
Don’t let its age deter you, Pinocchio is as jarringly relevant and realistic thematically as it was when it was released back in 1940 and should be considered mandatory viewing by any self called cinephile.
Ep 15: Mulholland Drive
It's time for another instalment of It's Not That Deep Bro and this week we are having a chat about the 2001 David Lynch Dream-Horror, Mulholland Drive. We live in a post-MeToo world and with mental illness at an all time high due to the global pandemic there is no better time to take on board what Mr Lynch was trying to say with this film.
We also chat about Ølund's trip to a drive-in cinema, Martins past experiences with para-gliding and a whole host of other topics to pique your interest!
So please whether you're spending an evening in an easy chair or about go about your daily errands, choose It's Not That Deep Bro for your weekly dose of ear tripe.
Ep 14: Wash Us In The Blood
Ølund and Martin will be diving into the highly anticipated new song "Wash Us In Blood" and talking about the background behind the song and what it means for his next anticipated project, the Dr.Dre produced "Jesus Is King 2" (or is it called God's Country, who knows).
Ep 13: Boogie Nights
Boogie Nights, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson in 1997 is a hero's journey of unexpected proportions that highlights the conflicting juxtaposition of morals, ideology and intention that seem to manifest around a young rising star in any industry. It could be the music industry, it could be the sports world but in the case of Eddie Adams (played by Mark Wahlberg) AKA Dirk Diggler, we are diving into the glitzy yet harrowing world of the golden age of 1970's pornography.
Ep 12: LOCKDOWN SPECIAL: Close Encounters of the Third Kind & Ufology
Whats that I hear you say in a skeptical tone?
"Reality of the UFO phenomena?"
"There is no reality to the UFO phenomena."
Well that's not what young Steven Spielberg thought as he worked directly with personnel of the United States official UFO identification program Project Bluebook to make sure his film was true to the fact, and what he found after working with them is that there is much more to this phenomena that sliver disks and little green men.
If you've ever wanted to know more about the continuing history of the UFO phenomena and how it has bled into pop culture and world events this is the podcast for you.
Ep 11: The Holy Mountain
This podcast was made to talk about this film.
The Holy Mountain directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky is a tour de force of cult/avant-garde cinema.
This podcast is for the hesitant, experience Martin's first experience then dive in for yourself.

Ep 10: The King of Comedy & The Joker
This time around on the It's Not That Deep Bro Podcast we are diving into Martin Scorsese's 1982 cult classic "The King of Comedy" starring Robert DeNiro as the idiot savant Rupert Pupkin who will stop at nothing to achieve his dreams. It is a stark contrast to some of Scorsese's most well known films and formed the thematic backdrop for last years box office smash "Joker" directed by Todd Phillips. Scorsese's name was originally attached to "Joker" as executive producer but was dropped later for unknown reasons but his fingerprints remain all over the film.
