I go over the basics of abuse culture and restorative justice, highlighting questions to ask yourself and your peers in order to plot a victim-affirming path forward, and finally providing some steps to take in the event of abuse. I tackle the nefarious myth that "hurt people hurt people" and draw a line between marginalized identity and inherent abusive nature.

More people are learning about things like compersion, intimate friendships, and open and honest communication. Many of the tools and skills that people learn to hone while engaging in polyamory carry over into other aspects of life not remotely related to romance and sex.

However, people still tend to ignore the full implications of the ethical part of non-monogamy, and so mainstream relationships simply end up being monogamy + (however many additional partners) - meaning they end up replicating the same harmful or abusive status quo that queer people have to actively fight just to live.

So, who gets to define themselves as queer, anyway?

Polyamory and other non-monogamies are ALL about the community and not just the sex, aren't they?

Intersectional/Integrated Non-Monogamy did not exist as a phrase until I coined it quite a few years ago. It involves discussing the actual history of non-monogamy and polyamory before the white mainstream stumbled onto it. It goes beyond simply discussing jealousy and compersion. It rejects slut-shaming or otherwise being ableist about STIs. It develops a concept of safer sex that is intersex/sex variant, trans/gender variant, and trauma-inclusive.

You may hear this term used by nonBlack people claiming to teach it, so know your shit and get the real definition and praxis here.

After all, ethics is not about talking points; it's about how you treat ALL the people, especially those you don't love romantically and/or those you don't want to fuck or who don't want to fuck you.
