In That Number: Southampton FC Podcast

Brothers Ray and Kevin see their appetite whetted by Southampton's ritual consumption of Norwich City at home, especially the show-stopping specialty from Oriol Romeu. The ITN News is full of Kosher goodness about our loanees, women's team and B Team.

In the extra time segment, strange dog-loving neighbour Tim drops in to tell us about Saints' upcoming fixtures in the FA cup against West Ham and away to Villa in the league.

Kevin and Ray can't disguise their joy and fascination as the Saints assassinate Everton without much of a fight. In the ITN News, we discuss Southampton's 'revolutionary' new tactics, Martin Semmens's interview with the BBC, fixture and player movements, and the loanees, women's and B-Team.

There's no Tim this week, so we rely on our own intelligence to navigate the upcoming home fixture against bottom-of-the-table Norwich. If you stick around to the end, you'll spy predictions, Fantasy Premier League and Super 6 updates, as well as a new game.

Kevin and Ray love it when a plan comes together, and this week, Colonel Ralph "Hannibal" Hasenhüttl put on masterclasses to outsmart both Antonio Conte and Ralf Rangnick and shut up the fools that bring up last year's score ad nauseum in the commentary. Central to the plan's success were the crack commando unit of Stuart "Faceman" Armstrong, Armando "Howlin' Mad" Broja and Ché B.A. Mac Adams - The A-Team!

In the ITN News, we discuss men down with injuries, Ralph's interview in which he considers demobilisation, and the mercenaries soon to be out of contract, not forgetting the usual recon on our loanees, B-Team, and the women's side.

Our very own fugitive tough guy Tim is on duty to look at the team in action against Everton on base at St. Mary's. Look no further than the extra time segment for action and adventure, as we find out who's standing to attention and who's gone AWOL in the predictions, Fantasy Premier League and Super 6. We'll be back midweek next week with our usual unrivalled firepower.

After a short gap in their CV, Kevin and Ray are back to review the FA Cup fourth round tie that went cringeworthily off-script. After Coventry took the lead in the first act, the understudies were swept away for bit parts from Saints' superstars in the second and extra time. With strikes as stratospheric as their careers, Stuart Armstrong and Kyle Walker-Peters made sure the curtains were for the Sky Blues.

While no agents phones were ringing this transfer window, Southampton did grab a couple of Willies in January. This means a surprise appearance of the Transfer Rumour Quiz in the ITN News segment, along with a round up of the women's and B Team, and an end to Djenepo's run in the AFCON.

There's a lengthy cameo from our very own jobbing Hollywood actor Tim Bisantz, as he previews the upcoming tour dates against Tottenham and Manchester United. There are extra extras in the extra-special extra time segment, including predictions, Fantasy Premier League and Super 6. 

Ray and Kevin report on an out-of-this world heroic performance as the Super Saints scored and held back and fought the evil Manchester City for a point each at St. Mary's. The flying superhero who saved the day was none other than super scorpion Mohammed Salisu, a superhero flying into every tackle, block, interception, and clearance with super speed and strength.

Rather than the Daily Planet, your super hosts serve you up the ITN News. Tim also swoops in for the second half as his secret alter-ego, T-Bizzle, to preview our next guests in the South Hampshire metropolis, Coventry City. We reveal the secret identities of our Super 6 and Super FPL winners in the usual kryptonite of our comic extra time segment. We'll be landing an extraterrestrial pod in your feeds again in a fortnight!

It's been a week of two halves in the soap opera that is Southampton FC. There was such emotion that Ray and Kevin were walking on air as Saints put four past Brentford at St. Mary's. It was the very first moment Dragan Šolak and his right-hand man Henrik Kraft saw the team, and the crowd knew he was there. We belong together and it should stay so forever.

Southampton let go of the dream away from home, however, as the flamin' mongrels of Molineux put three in Foster's net to strike us pink despite a moment of magic from our guiding star James Ward-Prowse. Surf hunk Tim returns to regale us with tales of the latest team to arrive on the sunny shores of the Solent: minnows Manchester City.

Aside from the ITN News, there's the usual bush tucker of the extra-time segment, with predictions, Super 6 and FPL, as well as another look at the Championship Draft, a contest that's getting tighter than an Aussie swimsuit. A great deal has happened at Southampton FC since the last episode and Ray and Kevin are back to catch up. Aside from events on the pitch - a spectacular Boxing Day win at West Ham, draws with Crystal Palace and Tottenham and an eventful Cup Game in Wales - they look at the cancelled matches against Brentford and Newcastle and, of course, the successful takeover bid by Sport Republic.

A tale that involves war, spies, and sex scandals, Kevin does a deep dive on how the man with the money - Serbian media magnate Dragan Šolak - made his fortune. Also, we meet Dragan's other 'dragons' - elusive investment banker Henrik Kraft, and tech boffin Rasmus Ankersen.

Tim is also in, here to look at the latest proposition of our opponents this week: the recuperated Brentford and a trip to Molineux to face a tricky Wolves side. There's also the failed product demonstration of the extra time segment, in which we see how Super 6 and FPL scores are looking, and even try our hand at some Serbian phrases to welcome in our new Balkan overlords.

Ray and Kevin just about wake up from what seems like a coma and are still feeling dead inside after the zombie 'Walkers' of Saints' defence allow three goals to get past them at the Emirates. Our attack has also lost its bite: the lack of goals compounded by the loss of our three main strikers.

Missing both keepers, we thought the apocalypse was upon us. However, after welcoming in Big Willy Caballero, we know it is! The ITN News looks at various outbreaks and rebuilding the squad as players drop like flies, followed by a customary look at loanees and the more successful Women's and B teams.

Tim joins forces with us to look at Southampton's chances of survival against the horde of London clubs poised to attack in December. This week it's a road trip to Selhurst park and a home visit from Brentford. There's also the extra time segment for all you undead out there.

Your two ITN agents, Ray Hunt and Kevin 'Moscow Mush' Milverton investigate the unexplained phenomenon of Southampton finding ever more mysterious ways of throwing away leads, this time against the Foxes and ten-man Brighton. Apology is policy for Ralph Hasenhüttl after paranormal activity from Alex McCarthy leaves Saints without a first team goalkeeper.

There's more conspiracy and intrigue as they look at the secretive machinations of a takeover from the syndicate in the ITN News, as well as the Player and Goal of the Month for November. 

Tim joins us as unassigned detail as we look to fight the future against Arsenal next weekend. We still want to believe that three points are out there somewhere. Only a true believer would stick around for the extra time segment where we find the truth about predictions, Fantasy Premier League and Super 6.

Guys... where ARE we? The survivors of a crash landing of a first half are forced to work together in order to survive in a match where hope has deserted them to face the elements of the Merseyside wilderness, desperate to find their way home. Ray and Kevin are the mysterious observers lurking in the background. They travel back in time to look at a week of ITN News, loan watches and the Women's and B teams. Tim joins and flashes forward to the future visits of 'The Others' - Leicester and Brighton to the south of the island.

After a long wait, best friends Ray and Kevin crack open a cold one and pore through a spectacle of dross.  An immature second-half performance and irresponsible decisions led to Saints emerging losers against Dean Smith's Norwich City. In Tim's absence, the lads tackle the prospect of visiting Anfield to play Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

We get a round in each with the ITN News and an international roundup, and there's last orders in the form of the extra time segment.

Ray and Kevin check their vital signs after a busy shift for the Saints: a painful failed operation at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup and fans are rewarded for being patient as Southampton nurse a 1-0 lead at Vicarage Road despite lacking clinical precision in front of goal. Our very own intern Tim is on hand to give Aston Villa's heartbeat-raising visit to St. Mary's the preview treatment.

There's the routine surgery of the ITN News and the intensive care of our Extra Time segment to sooth your ails.

This week Saints brought us in warm and they brought us in cold with a 2-2 draw against Burnley in which they were both hunter and prey. Ray and Kevin choose to walk the way of the Armando lore, focusing on a young man whose name will one day be legendary. Well two men, in fact, as Tino Livramento once again showed himself to be a legend of the first order.

There's the usual ITN News, and Tim returns to preview two trips to a galaxy far, far away - London. Saints have high hopes of hunting some bounty either at Stamford Bridge in the cup or Vicarage Road in the league. The rebellious shenanigans of the extra time segment close the pod.

This week's episode is without The Moscow Mush, but substitute Tim Bisantz is on hand to show some love for Nathan Redmond as Saints overcame Leeds at St. Mary's on Saturday.

The pair also look forward to next weekend's visit of Burnley 

Ray and Kevin are your socialite tossers to guide you through the rollercoaster of emotions as Saints go off script to equalise at Stamford Bridge before crashing back to a less structured reality of a red card for James Ward-Prowse and conceding two goals late on to leave London empty-handed. 

There's more antics, romance, and heartbreak in the ITN News, Tim is on hand to preview the upcoming arrival of Leeds United to St. Mary's, and it's the usual flirting and light petting in the extra time segment.

Au revoir! This week, your two favourite plonkers are back with a fitting tribute to the late John Challis: an Only Fools and Horses mashup fit for the crème de la menthe of Peckham! You know it makes sense! Light relief is the order de jour, after Saints scrape through to the fourth round of the league cup on penalties and then Bednarek and Salisu act like a couple of dipsticks to allow Jimenez the only goal of the game at home to Wolves. Chateauneuf du Pape!

In the ITN News, we take a look at loanees, Bojack 'Trigger' Horseman's ailing B Team, and Marieanne Spacey-Cale's high-flying women. There's a preview from Tim and the usual nonsense of the extra time segment. Lovely jubbly! We'll be back next week to talk about the win at Chelsea - who knows? Who dares wins, and maybe this time next year we'll be Champions League! Bonjour!

Ray and Kevin take an intimate look at Saints' trip to the City, where even though nobody scored, one team was truly shafted by VAR. We couldn't help but wonder what might have been... Southampton's defensive quartet nonetheless stopped 'til they dropped in a courageous display of diligence and tactics. 

There's a little foreplay in the form of ITN News and updates on the loanees, ladies and the B team. It all comes to a climax with a look at the action-packed week that sees Saints travel to Sheffield in the cup and take on Wolves at home. Finally there's the sweaty glow of the extra time segment to send you on your way. 

In That Number is back again! Ray and Kevin sit through a drab daytime affair at St. Mary's, as Saints and West Ham's bidding war is decorated only by latest rental property Armando Brojadona.

In the ITN News, Kevin gives an epic run-down of the past fortnight's developments in the international roundup and we take a look at the up-and-coming Women's team, the dilapidated B team, and the loanees in urgent need of renovation. It's more loss than profit as we say goodbye both to Michael Obafemi, who was auctioned off to Swansea, and to hot property Rachel Panting, who makes a permanent move to Oxford United.

Tim is back with his do-it-yourself preview of Southampton's trip to Manchester and there's all the usual fixtures and fittings in the Extra Time segment.

As the countdown to the transfer deadline ticks away, Ray and Kevin look at the 8 new cats in the men’s team and look back at a week with 10 Saints goals on the road. This week, Ray and Kevin cut through the cynicism and fakery straight after a result that (almost) nobody saw coming: a hard fought point at St. Mary's against the 'Red Johns' of Ole Gunnar Solskjær's Manchester United.  Tino Livramento stole the limelight as he cut through the Red Devils' lines.   Also under investigation are the latest ITN News, transfer rumours, loan updates and a look at the birds and the Bs. Tim joins to preview two distant away fixtures against Newport County and Newcastle United, plus the usual soothsaying and trickery in the extra time segment.

This week, Ray and Kevin tackle the most inevitable of tragedies - Saints throwing away a lead. Predictably, the first game of the season at Goodison was marked by a baffling team selection, a great debut goal, poor defending, ineffective substitutions, and a Richarlison goal. In the ITN News there's even more transfer news, a cup tie, loan updates and a look at the birds and the Bs. Tim joins to preview the upcoming visit of Manchester United to St. Mary's, and there's the usual nonsense in the extra time segment.

In a turbulent week for football, In that Number's Ray & The Moscow Mush are taken over in a multi-dollar bid by a US consortium of Tim Bisantz & Alex Haas to discuss the very controversial European Super League.

They then turn their attention to Saints' horrific week: being slain in an FA Cup showdown by Leicester and then suffering another loss after taking a first half lead at the hands of the team with no manager, Spurs.

The gang discuss their thoughts and feelings towards Ralph before previewing our mouthwatering Friday night fixture against Leicester once again. 

This midweek episode sees Ray & The Moscow Mush break down our trip to The Hawthorns - an embarrassing 3-0 loss with a lifeless performance from our backline.

With no Saints games to discuss this week, Ray & The Moscow Mush have the honour of chatting with former captain Dean Hammond to go over his glorious time at the club which gave us the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and back-to-back promotions to get to the Premier League. 

Dean discusses his ventures into podcasting, his Dean Hammond Elite Fitness programme and all the managers he's had the pleasure of working under, including Alan Pardew, Nigel Adkins, Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri.

He also has time to answer some of your questions from our Discord group and goes into detail about life after Saints and football in general. 

In this latest edition of In that Number, Ray & The Moscow Mush bask in our FA Cup Quarter Final victory over Bournemouth which sees the Saints head to a Wembley semi.

Nathan Redmond finally showed he can be judge, jury and executioner, and during 'Haas Asks', they read out the social media replies about our struggling B side.

They also discuss the next Premier League fixture against Burnley on 4th April.

Tim joins the show and prepares us for next week's FA Cup Quarter Final against Bournemouth, the only hope left this campaign.
