The Value of Your Soul

Mark 8:35-36

35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Thank the Lord for His Character

Thank the Lord for His Character

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”

The Steadfastness of Daniel

The Steadfastness of Daniel

Daniel was found to be faithful to God and steadfast in his faith from his youthful age till his old age. He faced a lot of oppositions, persecutions, hatred and challenges, yet he remained faithful. We are to learn from his life and remain faithful to God in every area of our lives

Success amidst all odds

Success amidst all odds

Many people are tired of living; they have struggled for a long time with no tangible result to show for all the efforts. Some have attributed their situations to their family background, illiteracy and poverty, and so have resolved to take it as their fate. However, the truth is that there are many people who have gone through worse situations and emerged successful. For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant – Job 14:7-9 (NKJV).

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret [things belong] unto the Lord our God

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret [things belong] unto the Lord our God

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret [things belong] unto the Lord our God
Respecting the people of Israel, and the providential dealings of God with them, and especially the final rejection of them; with respect to which, the apostle's exclamation agrees with this, ( Romans 11:33 ) ; and though the Lord had revealed many things which should befall them, there were others still secret with him, and the reasons of others; and particularly the times and seasons of their accomplishment, which he retains in his own power, ( Acts 1:6 ) . There are many secret things in nature, which cannot be found out and accounted for by men, which the Lord only knows; and there are many things in Providence, which are unsearchable, and past finding out by finite minds, especially the true causes and reasons of them; and there are many things relating to God himself, which remain secret with him; notwithstanding the revelation he has made of himself; for not only some of his perfections, as eternity, immensity are beyond our comprehension; but the mode of subsistence of the three divine Persons in the Godhead, the paternity of the one, the generation of the other, and the procession of the Spirit from them both; the union of the two natures, divine and human, in the person of Christ; the thoughts, purposes, and decrees of God within himself, until brought into execution; and so there are many things relating to his creatures, as the particular persons predestined unto eternal life, what becomes of such who die in infancy, what will befall us in life, when we shall die, where and in what manner, and also the day and hour of the last judgment. The Jews generally interpret this and what follows of the sins of men, and punishment for them, and, particularly, idolatry; take Aben Ezra's sense instead of many,

that [we] may do all the words of this law:
for the end of this revelation is practice; hearing and reading the word will be of no avail, unless what is heard and read is practised. Some render the words F9,

``he that commits idolatry secretly, his punishment is by the hand of heaven (from God immediately); he that commits it openly, it lies upon us and upon our children to do as is written in the law:''but those [things which are] revealed [belong] to us and to our
children for ever;
the things of nature and Providence, which are plain and manifest, are for our use and instruction; and especially the word and ordinances of God, which are the revelation of his will, the doctrines and promises contained in the Scriptures, each of the duties of religion, and the commandments of God, such as are of eternal obligation, which may be chiefly designed, because it follows:``the secret things of the Lord our God are revealed to us and to our children;''but neither the construction of the words in the original, nor the Hebrew accents, will admit of such a version; otherwise it would furnish out a very great truth: for the secrets of God's love, of his council and covenant, are revealed unto his people, as well as many of his providences, and the mysteries of his grace; see ( Psalms 25:14 ) . There are some extraordinary pricks in the Hebrew text on the words "to us and to our children": which are designed to point out the remarkable and wonderful condescension and goodness of God, in making a revelation of his mind and will, both with respect to doctrine and duty, to the sons of men.

and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.

A faithful service

A faithful service

refer :- Joshua 24:1-15

 Joshua called together all the tribes of Israel at Shechem. He called in the elders, chiefs, judges, and officers. They presented themselves before God.  Then Joshua addressed all the people:  I took your ancestor Abraham from the far side of The River. I led him all over the land of Canaan and multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac.  Then I gave Isaac Jacob and Esau. I let Esau have the mountains of Seir as home, but Jacob and his sons ended up in Egypt.  I sent Moses and Aaron. I hit Egypt hard with plagues and then led you out of there.  I brought your ancestors out of Egypt. You came to the sea, the Egyptians in hot pursuit with chariots and cavalry, to the very edge of the Red Sea!  "Then they cried out for help to God. He put a cloud between you and the Egyptians and then let the sea loose on them. It drowned them.  I brought you to the country of the Amorites, who lived east of the Jordan, and they fought you. But I fought for you and you took their land. I destroyed them for you.  Then Balak son of Zippor made his appearance. He was the king of Moab. He got ready to fight Israel by sending for Balaam son of Beor to come and curse you.  But I wouldn't listen to Balaam - he ended up blessing you over and over! I saved you from him.  "You then crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The Jericho leaders ganged up on you as well as the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites, but I turned them over to you.  "I sent the Hornet ahead of you. It drove out the two Amorite kings - did your work for you. You didn't have to do a thing, not so much as raise a finger.  "I handed you a land for which you did not work, towns you did not build. And here you are now living in them and eating from vineyards and olive groves you did not plant.  "So now: Fear God. Worship him in total commitment. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped on the far side of The River (the Euphrates) and in Egypt. You, worship God.

 "If you decide that it's a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you'd rather serve - and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you're now living. As for me and my family, we'll worship God."

Revelation

Revelation means to show us something we did not know or see before. In Christianity revelation refers to the way in which God reveals himself . Revelation does not only happen to saints or 'holy people'. You are responsible for listening to God's word in order to see how God is revealing himself to you.

Walking under the control of the spirit of God

Galatians 5:16-25

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, ..

20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;

Principles of Giving

Principles of Giving

Giving - and receiving again according to how we have given. This is a principle which covers a vast area, far more than just sharing our finances, but in all our giving expressions - projected attitudes towards others, words spoken to others, etc., so that we are reminded again, “blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”

The wise man wrote, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth, and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.” (Prov. 11:24).

Job referred to this same principle of giving, with its inherent increase, but used a different illustration, when he said, “For He maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof.” (Job 36:27). If there is no vapour ascending, how then can there be a condensing of the clouds into rain? If there be no scattering of seed, how then can there be an increase of harvest? If there be no outflow of blessing from our hearts to others, how then shall we in turn inherit a blessing? Give, and it shall be given unto you. The more we “bless the Lord,” the more He gathers up those “vapours” and multiplies and increases until He pours upon us blessings of an hundredfold.

One might be ever so isolated, separated unto the Lord, drawn without the camp, so that your outward contacts are limited, but this need not be a hindrance to our giving - “Give unto the Lord, ye kindred’s of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come before Him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” (1 Chron. 16:28-29). As our worship ascends, He will in turn pour out blessings to the remote corners of the earth.
