Thoughts #6: Iran Attacks Israel (I am Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds)
Iran has attacked Israel. "I am become Death Destroyer of worlds" feels to have been echoed through time to this moment. Humankind will prevail nonetheless.

#104: Kenny Roby (Music, Addiction, and Spiritual Growth)
Kenny Roby is a musician, song writer, natural philosopher, and well-rounded human being. His songs create a soft sound reminiscent of bluegrass and outlaw country, speaking of addiction, suffering, healing, life, and personal growth.
We discussed the theme of addiction, habits, and modern-day rituals after playing All Trains Lead to Cocaine, my personal favorite of Kenny's songs.
You can find Kenny's music anywhere you listen to your tunes. Find the Spotify link here.

At last, we've arrived at the final installment of my series on Camus's Nobel prize winning essay, The Myth of Sisyphus. Today, I will read the final chapter of The Myth of Sisyphus, and discuss it along with other points throughout the novel with the professor who introduced me to this in the first place: Jamal Lyksett.

An analysis of chapter 3 of Camus's Nobel prize winning essay, The Myth of Sisyphus. Here we delve into what absurd art and creation is and how to let go of that which you've created. How does the absurd artist deal with their art? What does it meant to create as an absurdist?

Ryan Bush is the author of Designing the Mind and his new upcoming book, Become Who You Are, which you can stay updated with its February release date at his website. We discussed psychitecture--the architecture of the mind--utilizing principles of Nietzsche and Maslow's philosophy and psychology.
#96: The Myth of Sisyphus (6: Drama)
We discuss Chapter 2 "The Absurd Man", Section 2, "Drama" of Camus' Nobel prize winning essay, The Myth of Sisyphus. Here, Camus explains why the actor is a prime example of who "the absurd man" is. The absurd man, much like the actor, lives many different lives--and all of them to the fullest. What the absurdist cannot unify, they multiply.

Jamal and I give an overview of the topics Camus discusses in chapter 1 of his Nobel prize winning essay, The Myth of Sisyphus. In addition to that, Jamal does a great job comparing Buddhism to Camus' absurdism by connecting the ideas of attachment, enlightenment, etc. to encountering the absurd. Jamal is a philosophy professor at the University of Idaho.

#91: The Myth of Sisyphus (2: Absurd Walls)
The contradiction that is met between our desire for meaning and the knowledge of its inexistence is the absurd. And this absurd is a wall that cannot be climbed over. This is episode two of my series on Albert Camus' Nobel Prize winning essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, in which I dive into section 2 of Chapter 1, "An Absurd Reasoning", i.e. "Absurd Walls". If you are struggling with thoughts of suicide or depression, please read the Myth of Sisyphus in its entirety prior to listening to this podcast. Please reach out to people you love and tell them how you feel. I am likewise happy to help if you go to the contact link located near the bottom of my website.

This episode in particular explains the first section of "An Absurd Reasoning", "Absurdity and Suicide". Dryw Owens is a multi-instrumentalist musician and producer. He is both the producer and a member of Moxy the Band. Moxy the Band recently put out their debut concept album, Dream Feeling, which incorporates '80s themes along with a futuristic, synth-wave type of sound. The album mainly covers the topic of loss (a friend moving away, a loved one passing, or being in a relationship doomed to end) and one's struggle towards overcoming it. We discussed the creative process, the flow state, following your dreams, and, of course, the concepts behind Dream Feeling and Moxy the Band. You can find Dryw Owens on Instagram @drywowens

#73: Aliens, Eric Weinstein, San Holo, roots, water, and the Tao with Daniel Torres
So, there's an uncontacted tribe off the coast of India that have no idea what civilization is, have no knowledge of technology (except the boats and planes they see), and don't even know there is such a thing called "India" that owns them. So, what if we're an uncontacted planet? What if an alien civilization owns us and they simply don't let other alien civilizations contact us, including themselves.
We also discussed the artist San Holo, and talked about water and roots in context of the Tao Te Ching. Peace out. Not sponsored by Elysian brewing, but I want to be.

#67: Royce Johnson (Twilight of the Idols - Education)
Mr. Royce Johnson returns to the ITA podcast to discuss Nietzsche's Twilight of the Idols, "What the Germans Lack", aphorisms 6 and 7 on education. Royce is an English teacher at Coeur d'Alene high school, and I attended his class in my senior year. His English class served as my formal introduction to higher level philosophy, which is interesting being that Friedrich Nietzsche started off as a philologist--someone who studies language. Prior to recording the podcast, Royce suggested that I read "On Language" by George Orwell, which is an interesting essay regarding doublespeak, euphemisms, etc.
