Heart Of An Athlete ~ Featuring Kristina Bangma Entrepreneur & Author

February is Heart Month and I am delighted to be in conversation with Kristina Bangma, who wears many hats from  including: entrepreneur, fitness coach, former competitive endurance athlete and author. I am beaming her in all the way from  the west coast of Canada in  Vancouver, BC.  She founded her first company, Kits Energy Training Inc., in 2003 and seven years later she introduced the Kits Energy Cycling Club where she coaches cyclists of every fitness level and ability from their first or fastest long-distance event.   Her personal training Clients range from experienced and competitive athletes to individuals who are being introduced to exercise for the first time.  Kristina is passionate about helping others live their best lives by educating them on how to live a healthy life beyond the finish line. She believes that if we want to achieve true health, and maintain it as we age, we cannot focus solely on just the physical aspect.  Our emotional, mental, nutritional, and social health are as equally important.  Kristina factors all these vital components into her training programs, setting her clients up for long-term success.   In 2016, Kristina was diagnosed with ARVC, a rare, genetic heart disease that progresses faster with exercise. Her diagnosis forced her to change her lifestyle, identity, and ideas of what it truly means to live a healthy life.   Kristina’s memoir, Athlete at Heart, details her journey from the day of diagnosis to where she is today, which is thriving and living a joyful life.  Although her story does revolve around heart disease and cycling, it is full of lessons and tools that everyone can relate too and use to help them in their own lives.  Connect with Kristina Bangman here: https://www.kristinabangma.com  With February being Heart month, support a good cause by supporting Kristina - Check out her book here: https://www.amazon.ca/Athlete-Heart-Learning-heart-disease/dp/1738988902?nodl=1&dplnkId=fc53e65c-9865-4c3a-ae40-c8560892891d To have your questions and stories featured in future episodes head over to the show website: https://ireniaroussel.org/canadian-side-hustle-business-podcast/  Stay connected and subscribe to receive the latest blog nuggets!
