090322: Reilly Jeffers on Faith, Family & Football
On the September 3rd, 2022 edition of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union's Irish Sports Saturdays, host Angelo Di Carlo chats with South Bend native Reilly Jeffers, a staff member at Ohio State as the Buckeyes get set to face Notre Dame in a top 5 matchup to open the season. Reilly grew up a diehard Notre Dame fan. His dad, after all, was Jeff Jeffers--the most recognizable TV reporter to ever cover the Irish. Jeff died a few years ago, so this game brings a lot of emotions considering how much this one would mean to Jeff. It certainly means a whole lot to Reilly and his family. The journey to this point for Reilly wasn't easy. Just before the start of his junior year of high school football, Reilly was in a serious car crash that cost him that football season. Two weeks later, his dad had a stroke. It was faith that got Reilly through those dark days. And those dark days is what gave him his first chance to learn about coaching. It's a powerful conversation about faith, family and football.

101020: Focus on Faith with Fr. Joe Carey
On the October 10th, 2020 edition of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union's Irish Sports Saturdays, host Angelo Di Carlo chats with Father Joe Carey, CSC, in our Focus on Faith interview. Fr. Joe has loved Notre Dame his entire life. It's the only college he applied to. He is now 80-years-old and is a 1962 graduate of Notre Dame. He was ordained a Holy Cross Priest in 1969 and has spent nearly his entire life on campus. His family history dates back even further with his dad being a 1932 Notre Dame graduate. Fr. Joe tells a great story of his dad's interactions with Knute Rockne. Plus, Fr. Joe has seen so much himself from Montana's rise in 77 to Catholics vs Convicts in 1988. And what a unique role Fr. Joe played with the Catholics vs Convicts T-Shirts. He also has some great stories about Digger Phelps. Fr. Joe remains active on campus as chaplain for the Alliance of Catholic Eduation (ACE) and chaplain for the women's lacrosse team.
