With background of architecture, Elaine Samonte has dabbled into multiple formats before landing into her current (and from the looks to it, long term endeavor!) paper cutting! But in this episode, we discussed her journey as a designer, and now finding her own voice through the craft that she has chosen. JP Cuison is a multi awarded ad man by day but multi talented designer and artist at night. As an advertising professional, he has had successes with the campaigns he has directed, resulting to two-time Philippine representation to the Cannes Young Lions International Advertising Festival. As an artist he goes by his name "Gigzilla", him being a big gig poster artist, with his quirky presentation of direction for this medium. We interviewed one of the three partners, Jethro Olba,  and we got a good conversation on processes, creative courage on why they started their own, a slight focus on the designer himself, and most importantly, WHY ODIN AND GROTESK (what a name!). With an amazing design career that spans decades, Frey Cabading can certainly be considered as one of the OGs or legends in Philippine graphic design. He started out in the early 60s already as an Assistant Art Director for JWalter Thompson right after college and went on to have great career that got him involved with prestigious clientele and projects that are now considered classics, like Asian Graphic Design Biannale (Tehran, Iran), International Creativity Shows in New York and Chicago , to local staples like Metrorail and Department of Agriculture logos. This I Saw_Cial Distancing Designer Interviews podcast episode is mainly an explainer on the why of this show. It came so far back it being a personal narration of the show's host, Dustin Carbonera, even telling his own starting point in his love for graphic design, some ups and downs, and the origin story of I Saw Design PH itself.
