Many times, analysis of data (including big data) limit the insights one can draw from it. This is because not all required data is available in internal/transactional systems. Bringing in data viz. Alternative Data (financial transactions, sensors, mobile/app data, public data etc.) helps one to do a deeper analysis, generate early insights and get more accurate predictions.
That’s why we bring you Pramod Singh, Chief Analytics Officer, Vice-President Data Sciences and Analytics - Yodlee and Vaibhav Fadnavis, PGP Co'06, Director - Advanced Analytics (AI & Machine Learning) - Microsoft on a session on ‘How to Deepen Your Insights - The Rise of Alternative Data’.

Transaction data enrichment and credit risk modelling are some of the solutions that they take to the market.
Proptech isn’t an entirely new trend in the market. The government’s Smart Cities mission was the first major fillip for the adoption of technology, to create better and more efficient cities. However, in the current economic scenario, where almost every expert has predicted negative global GDP growth in 2020 and where housing sales and launches have dropped significantly, that Proptech has once again come under the spotlight. With customer site visits being practically non-existent, construction activity has come to a virtual standstill due to the lockdowns and issues with the availability of raw materials, especially from countries like China, it seems as if the solution lies in the adoption of smart technology.

“In such a world, the last thing a teacher needs to give her pupils is more information. They already have too much of it. Instead, people need the ability to make sense of information, to tell the difference between what is important and what is not, and above all to combine many bits of information into a broad picture of the world” -Yuva Harari
With such widescale lockdown, elementary, and secondary schools need to adapt to online education. More interestingly, a significant % of students in countries like India are experiencing online learning for the first time, adjusting to the new normal.

This forced pause due to the pandemic has given each one of us that space to go to great depths within ourselves. For some it may have opened creativity, calmness, clarity and overall, well-being, while for others the intensity of fear, helplessness and insecurity would have made home. We believe that we are made up of positive as well as shadow aspects, which have always been there; the only difference is that many of us are becoming more aware. And therefore, being conscious of what this context is demanding from us will lead to future benefits.
One such critical aspect is parenting, especially when you and your children are working from the same work-home spaces, boundaries are blurring, and challenges are increasing. But so are the opportunities.
