Occasionally, Hollywood actually listened…only to be slapped down by critics who just didn’t get or appreciate stories they weren’t already familiar with. That’s a shame, because when it comes to movies like 2009’s Surrogates, we’re here to tell you that it’s not that bad.

Over the years, Disney has put out animated movies that have sparked our imaginations and stood the test of time. Every now and then though, the critics find one and take the House Of Mouse down a notch or two. Were they justified this time? In the 80’s there were a lot of sci-fi and fantasy movies soaring to the big screen. Worlds of wonder and fantastical things were aplenty at the theatre. But what would happen when one movie decided it wanted to be both a fantasy film and a sci-fi film? Throw in the coolest fidget spinner ever and you have a hit, right? Maybe not, but we’re here to prove to you that Krull is not that bad.

In 1982, the world was introduced to the Commodore 64. With a whopping 64 kilobytes of RAW, it was state of the art. We were also introduced to Tron, a world that took more than in 64kb to make. In 2010, we were introduced to the iPad with 256 megabytes of RAM. We also got Tron: Legacy. History shows us that with game changing technology comes great Tron movies…because Tron: Legacy is not that bad.

With movies like Sonic The Hedgehog and shows like The Last Of Us and Halo, it’s easy to forget that there once was a time when big screen video game adaptations weren’t worth waiting for. One 1995 film took the button mashing, techno-rocking, plotless attitude all the way to the bank, proving one thing…we clearly had much lower expectations in the 90’s. We’ve all taken part in scavenger hunts. They’re fun, you get your step count in and when we were young, it was the best way for our parents to get us out of the house so they could cry freedom and enjoy the silence caused by our absence.
