I Want To Rewatch: An X-Files Podcast

By Lazy N Productions
Join Tori, a nerdy vampire-loving bonafide X-phile, and Nic, an opinionated paranormal-loving sort-of skeptical misanthrope, as they rewatch The X-Files. Tori was a huge fan as a teen, but hasn’t seen the original episodes in over a decade. Nic watched the first season when it originally aired, but that was it. Together they'll watch one episode per week and try to figure out if the truth is still out there...

One year ago today, August 20th 2020, we released our podcast teaser into the world. A week later, on August 27, 2020, the musical alpha and omega of IWTRW appeared for the first time in "Episode 0: 'Meet Tori and Nic'", but it had been mixed a week before and used in a second audio teaser that was scrapped and used instead in a simple video teaser that was posted to Instagram (and our personal FB pages) on September 3, 2020.  In honour of year one... the audio is here. Thanks for listening. Finally!     Something is causing regular citizens in a small town to snap and murder people with their bare hands in strange fits of rage. Season 1, Episode 6: “Shadows”
NOTE: This episode of The X-Files (and so also this episode of I Want To Rewatch) includes discussion of suicide.   After a young woman’s boss dies by suicide, other deaths and strange phenomena seem to follow her. Mulder and Scully are brought in by another agency to look at corpses exhibiting strange behavior. They appear to have been strangled without anyone touching their necks. Mulder posits it's the work of telekinesis. Scully is not convinced.   Because she thinks it’s aliens!   (Not really.)       (Originally recorded: 12 September 2020) (Originally released: 01 October 2020)     References:   Shadows | X-Files Wiki | Fandom ( x-files.fandom.com/wiki/Shadows )   The X-Files Declassified by Frank Lovece   wanting to believe: a critical guide to The X-Files, Millennium & The Lone Gunmen by Robert Shearman   Monsters of the Week: The Complete Critical Companion to The X-Files by Zack Handlen & Emily Todd Vanderwerf   The Truth is Out There: The Official Guide to the X-Files by Brian Lowry   The Unofficial X-Files Companion by N.E. Season 1, Episode 5: “The Jersey Devil”
In this episode: Scully goes on a date, and Mulder is all about the naked ladies (for work, really).   Also, when a body is found in the woods of New Jersey with a missing arm that appears to have been eaten off by human teeth, Mulder proposes it’s the work of the infamous Jersey Devil (#NotMyJerseyDevil). Mulder and Scully go to Atlantic City to try and investigate but the local cops don’t want them there. Could it really be aliens that crashed in the woods and are just trying to survive…? Could it?   (No.)   (Originally recorded: 06 September 2020) (Originally released: 24 September 2020)    References:   The Unofficial X-Files Companion by N.E. Season 1, Episode 4: “Conduit”
Two hosts. Two mics.         When a teen goes missing near Lake Okobogee, a UFO hotspot, Mulder wants to investigate. Blevins and Scully are both skeptical. Mulder argues the case is important because of UFO sightings from 1967 where a girl scout troop had a close encounter. And it turns out the mother of the missing teen was one of those girl scouts.     Oka-BO-geeee!            (Originally recorded: 05 September 2020) (Originally released: 17 September 2020)    References: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conduit_(The_X-Files)       The Truth Is Out There: The Official Guide to the X-Files by Brian Lowry            Music: “Dark Science” by David Hilowitz “The Truth Is What We Make of It” by The Agrarians You can find links to all our episodes, ways to subscribe, social media, and more here! https://linktr.ee/iwtrw

Season 1, Episode 3: “Squeeze”
The third time's the charm…  Unless you record an entire episode from the wrong mic!   After a series of murders that happen in closed rooms with no known point of entry where the victim’s livers are torn out, Scully’s old friend from the Academy asks for her help on the case. She tells Mulder about it, and he pulls out an X-Files about a series of similar murders… from 60 years ago. And another series from 30 years ago. Mulder is convinced it’s one perpetrator, and the other FBI guys mock him for being ‘out there.’ Because, you know…     It might be aliens.     (Originally recorded: 30 August 2020) (Originally released: 10 September 2020) And, yes,  Nic forgot to plug in his main mic on this session... Apologies.    References:   Squeeze | X-Files Wiki | Fandom   Squeeze (The X-Files) Wikipedia   The Truth Is Out There: The Official Guide to the X-Files by Brian Lowry      Music:   “Dark Science” by David Hilowitz   “The Truth Is What We Make of It” by The Agrarians      You can find links to all our episodes, ways to subscribe, social media, and more here!   https://linktr.ee/iwtrw
