Sport is a medium that removes the boundaries between people and nations and creates an environment of love, peace, friendship, compassion, and harmony and cricket is one of them.  

Cricket is not only a mere game for Pakistan. With a strong record and contributions to the game of cricket, it’s hard to ignore the Pakistani Cricket Team, but I am noticing for some time that Pakistan isn’t getting its fair share in the hosting of international multilateral tournaments on its soil.

The results of the Italian General Election 2022 are astonishing and a watershed moment in the history of the country.  

For the first time in the history of the country, Italy is going to have the First Female Prime Minister. Her name is Giorgia Meloni. Her party Fratelli d'Italia has got a 26% vote in the 2022 Italian General Election.  Her election victory is also an indication of riding right wing across Europe. 

From Sweden to France, From Switzerland to Spain we are witnessing the rise of right-wing political parties gaining momentum and forming a government as well.  From the rise and popularity of Marine Le Pen in France to the fourth consecutive victory of Viktor Orban in Hungary, the right wing and populism aren’t only gaining popularity in Europe but also will be the major catalyst for electoral victory in the Future.  

In this Podcast, I try to explain in detail the factors that led to the victory of Giorgia Meloni in the recent Italian General Election and the rise of the right-wing all across Europe as well.

The International Cricket Council has changed some rules of cricket. Those rules have been implemented since October 1st, 2022, and will also be applicable in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.  From banning the use of saliva to polish the ball to declaring the Mankading legal, these rules are diverse and will shape future of the international cricket.

Prime Minister Imran Khan became the first prime minister in the history of Pakistan who has been removed as the PM through of vote of no confidence on April 10, 2022.  He served as the PM of the country from 2018-to 2022.

This is the third time in the history of Pakistan that a vote of no confidence is presented against the prime minister in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed is a Swedish political scientist and author of Pakistani descent. He obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stockholm University, where he is currently Professor Emeritus, having retired in 2010. During 2015-2019 he was Visiting Professor at the Government College University, Lahore, and in 2013-2015 he was Visiting Professor at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He is an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) at the National University of Singapore and was Visiting Research Professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS). He was also the Visiting Professor at the South Asian Studies Programme, the National University of Singapore from June 2007 to June 2010. He is also an Editor-in-General of the "Liberal Arts & Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)"; a member of the editorial advisory boards of "Asian Ethnicity"; "Journal of Punjab Studies"; "IPRI Journal, Islamabad"; and "PIPS Research Journal of Conflict and Peace Studies, Islamabad.  

On April 3, 2022, there was going to be voting in the National Assembly of Pakistan for the vote of no confidence against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran khan.  This was the third time in the history of Pakistan that a vote of no confidence is presented against the prime minister in the National Assembly of Pakistan.  But something unexpected happened. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly rejected the vote of no confidence against the prime minister and soon after that prime minister Imran Khan dismissed the National Assembly and created a constitutional crisis in the country. 

 In this podcast with Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, we have discussed in detail this constitutional crisis, the history of the fragile democratic structure of Pakistan, and what we can do in the future to avoid all this happening again.

 Lata Mangeshkar has passed away on 6th February 2022. The finest and the most complete singer from the Indian subcontinent. The Queen of hearts and the voice of the voiceless people left more than Billion admirers in grief and sorrow.

Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed is a Swedish political scientist and author of Pakistani descent. He obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stockholm University, where he is currently Professor Emeritus, having retired in 2010. During 2015-2019 he was Visiting Professor at the Government College University, Lahore, and in 2013-2015 he was Visiting Professor at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He is an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) at the National University of Singapore and was Visiting Research Professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS). He was also the Visiting Professor at the South Asian Studies Programme, the National University of Singapore from June 2007 to June 2010. He is also an Editor-in-General of the "Liberal Arts & Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)"; a member of the editorial advisory boards of "Asian Ethnicity"; "Journal of Punjab Studies"; "IPRI Journal, Islamabad"; and "PIPS Research Journal of Conflict and Peace Studies, Islamabad.  In this podcast, Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed discussed the Kashmir conflict in detail, unfolded the role of Jinnah, Nehru, Mountbatten, and Patel.
