Overcoming a Culture of Backbiting
Let's  have a spiritual conversation about overcoming a culture of backbiting. Not only is backbiting divisive, it also corrodes our happiness, relationships and hurts our souls. And it is SO pervasive in our culture! Friendships are often based in it, the media is saturated with it. Explore with me practical spiritual tools for developing the power (and discipline) to avoid it, live happier and create a more beautiful world.  Watch the original live video of this podcast here. Here you can read the quotes I share (all from 'Abdu'l-Baha) in context: First quote about backbiting here. Second quote about many roads leading to the truth here. Third quote about imperfections in every human being here. The book I am reading from The Divine Art of Living is a complications of quotes from the Baha'i Writings. How to be Happy During Difficulties
Let's have a spiritual conversation about being happy during our difficulties and passing those spiritual tests! We all know life is full of challenges - that fantasy of permanent ease just doesn't exist. But we CAN learn how to be happy in the midst of hard times. Some spiritual traditions even encourage people to pray for tests and challenges! If you are one of those (like me) who think "oh no" here is a podcast conversation for you. Why you may want to change that to an "oh yes" and how that attitude can help you be ready for challenge - and move THROUGH them with grace, faithfulness and joy. Quoted in this episode is this Baha'i Writing:  O SON OF MAN!   The true lover yearneth for tribulation even as doth the rebel for forgiveness and the sinful  for mercy. Referenced in this episode is the Midnight Prayer. How to Get Unstuck
Let's have a spiritual conversation about how to move beyond our current limitations. If we're growing (and we want to be!) we are always going to be pushing up against our own boundaries and inner obstacles. In this episode we'll explore three methods for getting passed your stuck points - depending on where you are in your life, and what works for you. We'll draw from some wisdom American playwright, Sam Shepard gave to young punk poetess, Patti Smith and explore both psychological and spiritual tools for moving forward. Grounded for Life?
Let's  have a spiritual conversation about how we've all been grounded for life! And how for the time being, that might not be such a bad thing.  Here is the quote from 'Abdu'l-Baha: Verily, God has chosen you for His love and knowledge;  God has chosen you for the worthy service of unifying mankind;    God has chosen you for the purpose of investigating reality and  promulgating international peace; God has chosen you for the progress  and development of humanity, for spreading and proclaiming  true education, for the expression of love toward your fellow  creatures and the removal of prejudice; God has chosen you to  blend together human hearts and give light to the human world.   The doors of His generosity are wide, wide open to us; but we must  be attentive, alert and mindful, occupied with service to all mankind,  appreciating the bestowals of God and ever conforming to  His will. And another one I reference:  One  would well remember the story of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, who when approached by a  believer in the depths of discouragement despairing of ever acquiring  the qualities and virtues that Bahá’ís are required to possess, replied  with the greatest compassion and encouragement, “little by little; day  by day” - ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Bahá’í World, 12: 704 PATREON ART CLASSROOM: https://www.patreon.com/jacquelineclaireart Join my email list here: eepurl.com/driTHr Check out my online art gallery: JacquelineClaireArt.com Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Finding JOY and LIVING Your Purpose
Let's have a spiritual conversation about finding your joy and purpose. Two things we hear a lot about in motivational messaging - but what does it really mean for us in our day to day lives, and how do we find it? Personally, I believe it is much more important to LIVE your purpose than to define it, and that we experience true joy through that process. Go deep with me into this topic as we weave the experiences of winter and restraint (symbolically expressed in the Catholic observation of Lent and the Baha'i Fast) followed by spring and renewal (Easter and the Baha'i New Year, known as Naw-Ruz) and how this rhythm of simplification and new growth can support us in finding joy and living our purpose.  Here is the quote from Rainer Maria Rilke: “Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to  love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are  now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers,  which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them.  And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps  you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant  day into the answer.” To watch the original video of this episode click here. How to Embrace Your Life (Right Now)
Let's have a spiritual conversation about the times we find ourselves living in, how rebirth can feel like death while it's happening, what it takes to live with courage (a deep breath and a leap) and how to say YES to life right now (no matter what) as it is happening. In this deep dive I reference  'Abdu'l-Baha's analogy of this life and the womb, as well as American playwright, John Patrick Shanley's introduction to 13 By Shanley and his play, Savage in Limbo .  *Correction: John Patrick Shanley wrote "Doubt" not "Proof" (I ALWAYS confuse those two play/movie titles.) Is Hope Just a Four-Letter Word?
Let's have a spiritual conversation about Hope. Hope has a mixed reputation, and in this episode I explore the difference between egoic hope and Holy Hope from a personal perspective. I will also touch on the Enneagram, a fascinating personality typology system (more on this in future episodes) and specifically the spiritual-physiological motivations of the Type 3, and how their experience, including their need for the antidote of Holy Hope, can teach us all more about resting in the true flow of life. **If you enjoy this Podcast and think it can empower people, please share with others!  And if you are able to offer your support financially please consider becoming a patron. Spiritual Resilience in the Time of COVID-19
Let's have a spiritual conversation about connecting with our spiritual purpose in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Many of us are scared and worried. All of us are experiencing a disruption to our usual routines. This time is a heightened individual and collective experience of our usual day to day upsets and delights. I believe in all our ups and downs the key to happiness - true spiritual joy and alignment is the remembrance of WHY we are here and WHAT the ultimate purpose of our lives is. Won't you take this deep dive with me?  **If you enjoy this Podcast and think it can empower people, please share with others! What If Things Aren't Going How You Wanted?
Let's have a spiritual conversation about how to roll with grace and gratitude when things aren't going how you wanted! I've learned a little about this through the process of making art. It is the unexpected twists that not only make life (and art) interesting, but innovative and beautiful. The more we develop the presence of mind to understand this AS IT IS HAPPENING the less stress and anxiety we will feel.  The quote I share at the end is from the Baha'i Writings, I first read it in this wonderful article. To see the painting I refer to, "Distant Melody" click here. You can also order prints as a daily reminder of today's spiritual conversation. Watch the original video of this podcast here. The Watchman, Part 2: A Jungian View
Let's have a spiritual conversation about the parable of the Watchman from The Seven Valleys, written by Bahá’u’lláh in Baghdad after He returned from Kurdistan in 1856. The Seven Valleys and the Four Valleys were addressed to Sufi  mystics with whom He had been in contact in Sulaymáníyyih. These works  are part of the publication Call of the Divine Beloved.  "Jungian" refers to Carl Jung (26 July 1875 – 6 June 1961), a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Jung's work was influential in the fields of psychiatry, anthropology, archaeology, literature, philosophy, and religious studies.  Jungian psychology (or analytical psychology), is a school of psychotherapy which emphasizes the importance of the individual  psyche and the personal quest for wholeness.  Become a patron: https://www.patreon.com/jacquelineclaireart Join my email list here: eepurl.com/driTHr  Check out my online art gallery: JacquelineClaireArt.com  Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
