Discomfort is a part of life. We get to celebrate the moment we realize that we are suffering in some way because then we have a choice. We can either stay in our current situation or we can choose to spend some money and time to get out of the suffering. You decide.
Life is 50% uncomfortable. What most people don’t understand is that you are in control of the discomfort. In this episode I teach you how I do this. On the other side is the wonderful blessing of nourishing your whole soul and having soaring confidence- if that’s what you want.

Deanna of @thehealthycreative_ and I teach our clients that the way to get anything you want is to be willing to feel uncomfortable. One of the first things we teach our clients is that what they perceive as a weakness, is actually a strength they have that is being overused. And the next thing we teach is that the more willing you are to feel uncomfortable, the more you achieve in your life. One of the best ways to practice this is in our families. Noticing what you are feeling before you react or yell at your kids is a good indicator of what you are not willing to feel for very long. We talk about our most uncomfortable emotions: embarrassment, shame, irritation, and feeling annoyed.
A lot of times we focus on what isn’t working in our relationships and if our friends or partners are being good friends or not. In this episode I want to offer to you what does work in strong relationships and how you can be a good friend. Take your focus off what others are doing or not doing for a minute and focus on what you are thinking and doing instead.
Since the beginning, all satan has ever wanted was credit. Power. Glory. So when we give him credit and power then we are giving him exactly what he wants. In this episode I’ll teach you how to take the power back and stop giving satan what he wants.
Sometimes we feel guilty because we don’t fit into a box of rules that society or someone has made up. Ultimately what’s happening is we have thoughts and beliefs that we should be fitting into some kind of box and then if we don’t, we feel stressed or guilty or defeated. Deanna and I are professional rule breakers and rebels so we are here to help you feel better about not fitting in. Find Deanna @thehealthycreative of Facebook l. We all have a critical voice in our minds that we have been living with our whole lives. The way we interact with this critic will determine whether we are adding more love into our lives or more rejection. In this episode I explain an activity I do with my clients that helps with handleing the critical voice in our minds and you can do it too!!
Rejecting certain parts of yourself is emotionally exhausting. I know, because I did it for years. I’ve also done the work to undo a lot of my emotionally unhealthy behaviors and have helped many woman fall in love with themselves and their lives as well. I’m starting a new opportunity for women who have been curious about coaching and desire some support and I share all about this new opportunity in this episode. For more details, email me at Coachingwithjamee@gmail.com or come find me on Instagram @jameeandelin and send me a message. I’m also on Facebook as well.
We all have an ideal in our minds: a perfect marriage, a perfect job, a perfect body or life. We can spend our lives trying to achieve this idea of perfection to realize that we don’t even like to spend our time doing the things that achieve that ideal or we can realize that who we are and what we have is actually what we want. And is that perfection? I think so. So maybe we all have actually reached perfection in the way we are going to in this moment...
Taking care of ourselves and meeting our needs is sometimes easier to do if you believe that you have others to take care of and others need your help. But over time, it’s important to believe that you alone are worth caring of just because you are alive on this planet. Olivia and I share some ways in which we feed our own self confidence and take care of ourselves.
Members of our teams (or families) can get side tracked from the actual problem. Members of the families can be so focused on trying to be right and not allowing other members to play their role that it creates more problems than the ones that are already there. And we all know that there are already going to be problems in a family without trying, so why create more problems if we can help it? In this episode we talk about moms wanting everyone to clean 😂, everyone in the family having different goals and roles, keeping our end goals in mind, what happens when we lose sight of what we really really really want, and how stay amused as opposed to getting frustrated.
My daughter Olivia is joining us and sharing life lessons she has learned from the Avengers Movies. In this episode we learn how to find peace when we feel annoyed with other people and the decisions they are making, why we are judging others harshly and how to find more compassion for others. Olivia shares a personal story about when she judged someone recently and how she handled that.
As humans we were not created to always feel happy. We are not designed to always look on the bright side and to feel happiness all the time. Sometimes we cover up our negative emotions because they feel crappy and our brain doesn’t want to feel any discomfort so our brains offer us the idea that our emotions are bad. But nothing is wrong with any emotion. In this episode we will investigate how positivity can be toxic and what to do with any emotion. Seeking pleasure and avoiding pain leads to an unauthentic life. Others are less likely to connect with you and you will find it difficult to connect with others. Understanding and nourishing yourself with allowing emotions leads to deeper relationships. Starting with the one you have with you!
Deanna is a holistic Lifecoach who specializes in helping people change their relationships with their bodies and with food from a place of radical self love. Some questions we answer in this episode are: •I’m not happy with my physical appearance (weight and strength) I know what I need to do to change it but I’m still not able to make myself do it. •What are some ways to deal with stress and anxiety and not letting stress control me? • Self care. What is this? • If I’m not hungry, then why am I eating? • People say I eat because of a deeper issue or problem but I think I just like to eat. And I am not aware of a deeper problem. • I’m not able to do active things right now because of the quarantine. This feels like a problem to me. What advise do you have? • How do I discover what I enjoy doing that doesn’t have to do with food? Your brain has 3 functions when it comes to your survival. It only wants to keep you alive. It’s not concerned with your overall happiness. So every thought that your brain offers you can be categorized into one or all of the 3 functions. These functions are also called motivations because it is motivated to keep you alive by 1) Seeking Pleasure 2) Avoiding Pain 3) Conserving Energy. Your brain does not care about anything else but to do these three things for survival. Knowing this gives you power over your brain. When you have power over your brain then you can overcome the natural man. Woot woot!! That’s why we are here. To not just survive and live at the effect of our brains but to overcome our brains and thrive. This doesn’t mean our brains are wrong all the time. But we decide if we want to believe them or not. And no matter what you decide, you were designed this way which means that you are enough either way.

I am sure you have heard of someone saying the phrase, “don’t should on yourself.” I want to explain what that even means, what happens in our brain when we think the words should or shouldn’t, what happens in our bodies, and then spiritually. Applying this concept to our lives can ultimately reduce our stress by about 80%. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Try it out for yourself.
I am very grateful to be able to visit with one of my clients, Bre Rayner!!! It’s a vulnerable thing to share your experience with struggle and reaching out for help- and being excited to invest in yourself!! Bre shares her story of going from working mom to stay at home mom and the struggle that was. The relationship developed between coach and client is very special and I hope you’ll be able to feel some of that in this episode. Bre has decided to become a coach herself and help other people who are also struggling. Her clients feel that working with her feels natural and they love her. ❤️ you can connect with her on Instagram @lifecoachingwithbre and her website www.lifecoachingwithbre.com Not every client becomes a coach and that isn’t even why most people hire me. However, sometimes the transformation that happens inspires others to help people in similar ways. Nonetheless everyone who goes through my coaching program does choose to go out and serve and help in many ways that were unknown to them before we started working together.
Meditation strengthens different muscles in your brain so that it becomes natural to be present in your life, intentional, and to not give into urges for all those cookies that you’re trying not to eat because you want to feel better! In this episode I show you how easy meditation can be and how to get started.
In this episode we discuss what the purpose of taking responsibility for our own thoughts and feelings and action feels like and looks like. And this is IN FACT the purpose of the podcast. I teach you throughout all the episodes how to take full responsibility for your thoughts and actions. But what if others in your life don’t want to take full responsibility? What then? How does it feel waiting for others to take responsibility? How do you behave when they don’t? And is waiting for their to take responsibility taking responsibility for your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Very interesting topic.
Pleasure- including sexual pleasure- is for YOU. Nobody else can feel your pleasure. And something wonderful about pleasure is that when you intentionally soak it up, your brain stored up those pleasure hormones to be released later during times of stress. Imagine the impact of that? The pleasure hormones take the edge off of stress on a daily basis. There are other benefits too. Imagine the possibilities!!!

Having choices and options and control is a good thing! All of our thoughts that our brain offers you is so nice of your brain. We don’t need to be mad. That would be like going to a food buffet and being mad at all the food options. How funny would that be?
How important is your mindset when you are a business owner? Should you be working hard or having fun? How do I know what my customers want to buy? Why aren’t people buying from me? Why is it taking so long? What is a day in the life of a successful business owner? These and a few other questions are answered in this episode of Coaching With Jamee. I love love love when a client says they are jealous of someone or something. What this means to me is we get to unpack the jealousy suitcase and find what they want for themselves. This isn’t meant in a competitive sense or to be prideful at all. Jealousy is a teacher that gives us insight into what we value and what we want to experience.
Brittany is the owner of a sleep consulting business called The Sleeper Teachers. I have many consultations with people and I’m actually surprised how often lack of sleep (and all that comes with that) comes up in my calls. We are all affected by sleep for good and bad and sleep affects our life in so many ways. Sleep is a basic human need, yet it’s not as easy as it seems like it should be for a lot of us. Brittany doesn’t hold back in sharing tips and tools on this episode and on her social media. Find her @TheSleeperTeachers Her website: Http://Sleeperteachers.com And here is a link to the UCLA body scan for sleep that Brittany refers to in the episode: https://www.uclahealth.org/marc/mpeg/Body-Scan-for-Sleep.mp3
We as humans do this all the time. We think what we are doing isn’t good enough; that there is always a better choice. We do this in our day to day lives and it can cause us to feel unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the way things are and who we are.
Love is a gift and an emotion in which we operate at our highest selves. I believe because God is love and we are created in his image then when we are operating through love then we are being our best selves.
Often we feel that uncomfortable feelings like stress, worry, frustration, anger are bad and that if our spouse is feeling them it is our job to make that feeling go away. This comes from the idea that you don’t like feeling uncomfortable and you are unaware that you are choosing the discomfort as is your spouse. They want to feel what they are feeling because of values they have. Allowing your spouse to feel what they are feeling is a form of love without feeling the need to control them. What do you think of that?
Most people think that they want more confidence and that it feels amazing. They think confident people just feel really good about life and themselves most of the time. I’m here to teach you the truth about confidence.
You get to be a fly on the wall and listen to Coral’s personal experience with forgiveness and how having the gift of forgiveness has enhanced the peace she feels in her life. Other people create their emotions with their thoughts and if they are feeling negative it’s because they want to. We can allow others to feel however they want to feel. Sometimes we want other to change- but ultimately this is so we can feel better. But you don’t have to wait for them to change in order to feel better. You can feel however you want to feel whenever you want to.
Solving the problems that your brain tells you are small and stupid and silly actually helps you when the problems arise that your brain tells you are big problems. Cause they do come. Those big problems. And when they do, you’ve been proactive and taught your brain how to solve problems- which are all just thinking problems by the way.
I have had lots of people wondering lots of things about coaching and what signing up for coaching even looks like. So I recorded this podcast episode in order to answer those questions for everyone. Enjoy!!
Some things just aren’t a problem for me. Some things are. But when they are it’s because of the thoughts and stories I’m believing that make it a problem. It’s what I’m making things mean that cause it to be a problem in my life.
In this episode, Monica and I (Jamee) invite you to listen in to part of a conversation we have about marriage. Let us know of any insights you have and come connect with us on Instagram. To connect more with Monica Tanner head over to her podcast called, On The Brighter Side.
Thinking that when something is hard it must be bad or wrong- just creates more resistance and intensifies the struggle. Which is ok. But I really enjoy just dropping the thought that hard isnt bad. Who would you be without this thought that hard is bad?
Lenaya Andersen joins me today. Lenaya is an English professor, Author, Mother, and Wife. In no particular order. She shares with us several stories in which our perspective on life will shift and the way we think may be different.
You, your brain, your body, and God are all separate. But all of you are a team. You’re not against each other and your body, your brain, and God are all doing exactly what their supposed to do. Your Job is to see this as a superhero team and work together to achieve anything you desire.
The bad news is that there is no college for teaching grown ups how to be an adult- How to be in emotional adulthood. Bummer!! But I have good news too. The good news is that I can teach you. And we start with these podcast episodes .
This concept is a great way to shift your mindset and perspective on anything. Where are you suffering in your life? Where are you offended or sad? Its probably coming from the definition that you give to your circumstance. Its fun to feel empowered and to redefine every word or quality.
In this episode I will teach you how you can make some changes in your life rather quickly. You can change in a day! And each day you do this will add up to 365 changes in a year! You could be a completely different person one year from now.
In this episode I address the idea that we all choose to suffer. Sometimes we suffer because we want to, other times we suffer unnecessarily. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are choosing to suffer and we think the suffering is just happening to us. In what areas of your life do you choose to suffer because you want to and what areas do you not see that you are choosing to suffer?
Circumstances really are neutral you guys!!! We get to decide what we think about everything. There are very little facts to the circumstances of our lives and a lot I mean A LOT of thoughts and stories. Sometimes we confuse the thoughts for the circumstances but that is just not true. In this episode I tell you how you can see more clearly that the circumstances are neutral.
Ever feel run down and exhausted from serving in the church? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not feel obligated to participate in all the meetings and opportunities available? I hear you!! I’m a lot like you and have had thoughts that make me feel resentful and jealous of those who seem to be living quiet peaceful sabbath days without me. Listen to this episode for an experience I had today that changed my mindset. Mindset is everything. The way we think about everything is what creates our relationship with it.
In this episode we dive a little deeper into entitlement and I provide an exercise for you to do if you so desire to be honest with yourself and see where you are holding yourself back from getting results in your life. Good luck!!!
Do you feel overwhelmed with your ever growing checklist of things you should be doing? Do you feel like the people around you should be doing things better so your life would be easier? I have a simple solution for you in this episode.
Do you have a goal or a problem that you are trying to solve for and you just feel like you’ve been exhausting yourself trying to solve it and feel like nothing is working? Well I have some awesome news for you!!! You probably are trying to solve for the wrong problem. This is good news!!!!!
Everyone has a different sexual desire. If you think there is something wrong with your sexual desire or your spouses sexual desire then listen up!! I’m here to tell you what the problem is and how to fix it!!!!
Jesus said that “as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.” Jesus knows that whatever result we want in our life comes back to what we believe. Wherever you are in your life all comes back to you. Your beliefs. You have the power to create whatever experience you desire. In fact, whatever experience you are currently having all comes back to your own beliefs.
When we decide that we want to feel better and we are practicing this work then we realize that we need to change our thoughts and beliefs in order to change our feelings. So here are a few tips that I use in my life in order to do that. It feels empowering.
This is part one of my interview with Hillary Hess of helpingofhappiness.com I do a little coaching and we do some talking. Hillary is awesome and I’m glad she was vulnerable and authentic with us as she is navigating confidence and serving others!
It’s never about the money. It’s always about your belief in yourself. When we order something online we believe it will be delivered on our doorstep and we don’t doubt. But when we decide to invest in our own mental and emotional wellbeing we doubt if we will get the results or not. What if you decided to believe and decided to give it a try and create some evidence that you can get the results you desire?
People pleasing is lying. It’s deciding for other people how they will think and feel. It’s saying you want to do something even though you don’t want to. It creates resentment. It creates evidence that you don’t like something. It’s a lot of drama.
Do you find yourself thinking and feeling for your spouse or others in your life and making decisions for them before they have a chance to make it for themselves? It’s an interesting concept that can change your life when you decide to stop doing this.
In this episode, Whitney breaks down the cost of her dresses and how it differs having a business in the USA as opposed to over seas. We also go into some thoughts and beliefs about money that we have. These thoughts make me feel happier and live a happier life.
I had the honor of interviewing Whitney Lundeen of the company Sonnet James. In the episode she tells her story of starting a business as a single mother of two young boys and not knowing anything about business.
This is a small analogy I like to use when I’ve noticed that I’ve let my brain take over my life and I’m listening to the ideas and stories that my brain is telling me instead of me actively choosing the story I want that will lead me to the experience that I want.
If you can’t control your value, then what is the point to this life? I want to offer you the idea that the point of this life is to experience what you choose to experience-for the fun of it and for the joy of it.
Humans are smart. And when we tell them that they can’t do things that people are actually doing in the world then it can be confusing. Especially for children. It helps to tell them that they can do those things and then teach them. It doesn’t ensure that they won’t do things that you don’t want them to do, but you will like who you are as a parent. The Family: A proclamation to the World- https://www.lds.org/manual/the-family-a-proclamation-to-the-world/the-family-a-proclamation-to-the-world?lang=eng
Most of us think that relationships are based off of what others say and do. But the truth is that all relationships with others are in your own mind. This is great news, right?! It means you are in charge of how you feel about everyone.
Our bodies are meant to process emotions. Most of us have not been taught this and how to process our emotions. In this episode I offer an example of how to process and why. And how to teach your kids!
There is opposition to everything in life including our FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS. In every thing turn.... turn.... turn... there is a season turn... turn ... turn.... THIS 50/50 rule sure does help me stay away from thinking that things have gone wrong. I’m just human!!!!!! And this is LIFE.
You are most likely, like 99%, not a victim every single day. Things happen in the world and it’s what you think about those things that are creating your feelings. You get to own all your feelings. What are you thinking that is causing you to feel that feeling?
Whatever you are thinking about and looking for is what will become true for you. Your brain only wants to prove your thoughts right and doesn’t want to help you. Look for what you want your reality to be and that is what you’ll find. Practice this and you will see.
Being alive doesn’t mean trying to be happy all the time. It means feeling all the feelings. The more we allow ourselves to feel the uncomfortable feelings, the more our ability to feel the opposite and comfortable feelings expand. Uncomfortable feelings can be linked to a value or a belief that we have and we get to decide if we like that value or belief and then own our feelings. So empowering!
Your brain has the most energy in the morning. Most of us let our brain go on autopilot in the mornings and just let it offer us all kinds of thoughts. Sometimes those thoughts create feelings we don’t like. We don’t have to be in autopilot if we don’t want to. But being aware of this is the first step.
These tools that I share are meant to enhance and augment your experience on this earth and be applied to your own mental and emotional health no matter where you are at on that journey. Some of us have been diagnosed with mental illness of some kind whether it be clinical depression, anxiety, bi-polar, or anything else and these tools are meant for you to add to whatever medical regiment you are choosing to follow. I am 100% in support of therapy and medication. I am 100% in support of humans doing what they need to do to prioritize their mental and emotional health.
Your actions create your results. Your results are your reality. Your reality doesn’t have anything to do with anyone else’s experience because everyone can only create their own reality with their thoughts and feelings and actions. Your brain proves all of your thoughts true. Whatever thoughts you choose to believe, will become your reality because your brain will find evidence for that thought. Your brains job is t to help you, but to prove thoughts true. Your job is to choose the thoughts that you want your Brian to find evidence for- that will become your reality.
The lasting way to make changes in your life is to change from the worlds view which is muster up a ton of self discipline and take some action, then get a result which will make you feel better. This view is not a lasting way to make any changes. We only have so much will power to continue on like this. In order to really take the actions we want to take in life we must first choose thoughts and beliefs that will create the feelings that will fuel the actions we want.
We are just beginning to discover what feelings and emotions are. An emotion or feeling is what is felt in the body after you think a thought and the brain releases chemicals and hormones into the body. Your body was made to be able to handle ANY feeling and emotion. Everything you desire in life is because of a feeling you think it will give you. The worst thing that will ever happen to you is a feeling that you will feel. We create feelings to fuel our actions or inactions.
Thoughts are created in your brain and then your brain creates chemicals that are sent into your body. Those chemicals in your body are called feelings and emotions. Circumstances such as the weather and things other people do or say do not have the power to give you feelings. You have all the power. You create your feelings with your thoughts. This is great news!!
