Kait, along with her husband Casey, started Kane9 back in 2017, where she believed it would only be a hobby. Just a few years later, her dog training business has blown up. Shaun has been a CrossFit affiliate owner for over 14 years now, and specializes in group training, personal training, and youth instruction. Working with athletes from 8-83, Shaun has coached everyone from the beginner athlete, to Olympic Gold Medalists. Coach Lachen Reid was a longtime hockey player, but towards the end of his playing days, he recognized that he loved training for hockey much more than he loved playing the games. This made it a natural transition for him to become a strength coach. With mentors like former Cutoffs & Coffee guests Austin Jochum and Jake Tuura, Reid created his own philosophies and techniques that have helped his athletes consistently improve their strength and speed, as well as their play on the court/field/ice. Miles Burris refers to himself as “dreamer.” Growing up the youngest of 5 children, he spent a lot of time thinking, creating, and dreaming. He ultimately ended up manifesting a career in the NFL, playing for the Oakland Raiders from 2012 to 2014. In his rookie season, Burris immediately became a regular part of the Raiders' defense, starting all but one game that season. Since his career in the NFL, he has worked as an actor, appearing in the Disney+ film “Safety,” HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, the Netflix series Lucifer, and most recently is portraying Hunter Hearst Helmsley (HHH) on NBCs “Young Rock.”

Andrew Carber is, literally, one in a million..probably less. Carber originally went to Clemson University to pursue a collegiate golf career. After taking some advice from fellow Tiger Mike Williams (NFL WR), Carber decided to pursue pitching in the MLB. After a short, but promising baseball career was cut short due to Covid-19, he once again made a pivot, and pursued basketball at the professional level. A few months later, Carber was shooting a Netflix film called “Hustle.”
In this episode, we talk about the mindset, and the physical training Carber went through to have success at a very high level, in multiple sports!

Coach Jordan Beard is the Program Director at “The National Basketball Academy (TNBA). He has over 12 years of coaching and skill instruction experience. He has worked with a broad range of clients, from young players just beginning their basketball journey to NBA and Overseas professionals. Coach JB takes pride in being detailed in his teaching believing the better he is able to break down skills and concepts the better his players will be able to learn and progress.
Playing his high school basketball at Oberlin High School, Coach finished his career as Oberlin High School’s all-time leading scorer as well as the all-time Leader in assists, steals and 3pt field goals made. He was named Lorain County Mr. Basketball his senior year and earned all conference, county, district and all-state honors.
While never the tallest or most athletic player, Coach JB was able to have success and separate himself through his work ethic, understanding of the game and his dedication to skill work. These are the same principles and concepts he now uses to help his players improve their basketball skills and understanding of the game while also increasing their overall confidence in themselves.

About Coach Morris, in his own words: “For a large part of my life, I took for granted what a healthy strong body and mind plays into your everyday life. I have raced in numerous cycling races, 12/24/36/72-hour adventure races, and triathlons of all distances. My motivation was not only pushing athletes to their highest physical and mental potential but pushing myself as well. After suffering a spinal cord injury in May of 2012, I went from being on top of the world both mentally and physically to being what I refer to as “Zeroed Out”. I went from racing some of the toughest races on earth to not being able to push a wheel chair more than 5 ft. This life changing event made me realize how fortunate we are to wake up each and every day.
I work to encourage everyone to take advantage of every second. Don’t set goals that will start in a week. Start right now! And hopefully if you’re fortunate enough to have tomorrow you make that day better than the last. As a senior in high school, Clayton was 175lbs and topped 77mph. His freshman year of college Clayton attended Whitman College and topped 80mph his freshman fall. That winter he trained at Driveline Baseball and started throwing 84mph. His sophomore summer he reached 89mph before attending Lamar Community College. Clayton now tops 91mph, and he attends Augustana University, where he will be double majoring in Exercise Science and Data Analytics.
Coach Thompson is a wealth of knowledge, and in this episode, we take a deep dive into training with intent, the spinal engine, and training the mid ranges. Clayton is passionate about the strength field, and you can feel his energy through the microphone. Enjoy the ride!

Ben Iannacchione is in his first season as head strength and conditioning coach for University of Akron head coach Joe Moorhead in 2022. A former standout offensive lineman who played collegiately at Boise State, Iannacchione comes to Akron after spending the 2021 campaign on the Pitt football strength and conditioning staff. Before his time at Pitt, he spent time in the weight room’s at Kansas, Wyoming, and LSU.
Coach Iannacchione is an incredible human being. You can feel his passion for his work, and his passion for his family (both the ones who share his last name, and the one’s he coaches) from the very beginning of the conversation. Daniel Back grew up as a, self proclaimed, “Culdesac Kid.” Learning his love for performance, competition, and athleticism from participating in games like capture the flag, tag, and roller hockey. He turned his passion for recreational sports into a complete dedication for training athletes.
He first started training other clients in January of 2009. As his clients started seeing good results, more got interested, and his brand grew from there. Before he knew it, he was training some of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse basketball players, training a Division I basketball recruit from a local high school, and even running the university basketball team's preseason conditioning class as an undergraduate student.
He has since moved to Austin, TX, where he coaches at Xceleration Sports, and continues to have a major impact in the online training world, with his Jump Science Program. He’s been putting out elite content online since 2009, and after you hear this podcast, you’re going to want to pull up his YouTube channel to take even deeper dives into some of our speaking topics!

Coach Will Ratelle is a “Hoss.” A “hoss” is defined as “a horse, who can sprint fast, jump high, lift heavy, and 360 dunk.” As the creator of “The Hoss Project,” Coach Ratelle goes into detail about what, he believes, athletes need to be doing in the weight room, in order to maximize their outputs. Coach recognizes that there is a certain amount of fluff in the industry, and he understands by taking this fluff out, not only will athletes be able to get bigger and stronger, but they will enjoy the process a bit more. He’s one of the leaders of the “new school” approach to training, and he is able to articulate what he agrees with, and what he doesn’t. Shane Austin played major college football at the University of Hawaii. Austin also played big time professional football, setting multiple team records, in the Arena Football League. But he’ll be the first one to tell you, he never passed the “eye test.” Shorter than most professional quarterbacks, Shane had to develop an elite skill set that couldn’t be seen with the naked eye; enter visualization training. Austin developed the mental skills he needed to thrust him past his competitors, and gave him a huge advantage on the field. He has now taken that skill set, and been able to coach 100s of athletes to be able to give them the mental edge over competitors.
