Listen with Lavers is the new entrepreneurial podcast for Coaches, Authors, Speakers, Experts, Healers, Practitioners & Thought-Leaders who want to simplify the ways in which they do good and get clients online. Episode 4 - Does your attitude and approach to business reflect a more traditional "Industrial Age" way of working...
...or do you lean towards a more modern "Digital-Age" approach to work and business?
You can take a guess right, but its hard to know for use…but It is possible to measure this based upon your unconscious biases towards work, busy’ness, time and technology.
I call this measure, your Industrio-Digital Maturity ranking or IDMR for short
And its what we’re going to explore over the next few episodes.
SeeThings are changing faster and faster!
Up until around just 15 to 20 years ago, if you wanted to get your message, your expertise out to the world and do meaningful work with customers en masse, you had to either be in front of them physically, on a telephone conference line, or you had to create and distribute physical products such as print, audio tape, CD, DVD...or, you had to be on TV.
The internet changed that.
More accurately, downloadable content... followed by streaming-media changed that.
Now, it has never been more easy, affordable and fast to reach your market, attract clients and do meaningful work.
Streaming, on-demand content, makes the manufacture of physical information products now defunct...
...as content can be produced and delivered to a ready global marketplace in moments, and consumed by your crowd and customers over and over around the world for years on end.
This podcast is prime example of this digital phenomena, 20 years ago to get this same audio message to you would require long hours of compact disc manufacture - sleeve design and printing along with the rigmarole of mailing it to you at a physical address…a process that could take weeks at best. To multiply the reach of that message would rely on a scale up of this manufacturing and distribution process and all the time, people and resources necessary for that to happen.
Nowadays, the information I’m sharing with you right now, can be expressed by my voice and in your head to think about within hours of producing the message, and can be freely distributed around the world with virtually zero overhead.
The Live videos I produce on my Facebook at www.lavers.live 20 years ago would require a nationally syndicated daily live tv show to be realised. Huge contracts, hundreds of people and multi-million dollar resources to make, market and distribute to the world.
Nowadays, I just need my iPhone and a plan. period.
So, with the barrier to global-mass-reach now so much lower, we’re seeing a huge expansion in the digitisation of expert-advice, coaching and thought-leadership... smart people and companies, efficiently distributing and monetising their expertise, without the overhead or the trade off of time...without the trade off of LIFE.
But, not everyone has matured into these changes yet.
In fact most are lagging behind...through no fault of their own.
It’s so easy to be habituated to the old-work-rules of a time that has now past…
…and this is why so many are stuck wondering how on earth to get educated fast and play catch up even faster in this virtual landscape.
