Gender Dysphoria is a crippling mental illness now labeled by the Diagnostics and Statistics Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). It has become closely associated with the "Transgender Craze," which is spreading rapidly and specifically with teenage girls. In this episode, Daniel and Jared rely heavily on a book entitled, Irresistible Damage by Abigail Shrier. Our main question is: How can the church teach about sin, when we live in a culture that no longer recognizes nor understands that term? Even the definition of "good" is now subjective to postmodern listeners, making it almost impossible to communicate the reality of sin.

This week Hidden God welcomes Tulsa Bible Church Children's Director, Mady Boultinghouse, for a discussion on vision. Engaging the culture is one of the hardest battles fought in churches today. How do we engage? Aren't we risking our testimony and holiness? How should we engage and to what extent can we engage without adapting worldly influences? Several models of cultural engagement have been knowingly or unknowingly used to reach and/or transform the culture with the Truth of the Gospel. When Jesus said, "If anyone wishes to follow after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me," he was asking for complete surrender. Yet, Matthew 11.28, "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest," doesn't communicate surrender in the same way. The sin beneath every other sin is a spiritual cancer and simply affects everyone.

Perhaps no other section in Mere Christianity addresses issues of the Gospel and the doctrine of Christ like Book 2. Our hope is to show how Lewis explains the truth of the Gospel in a pluralistic, post-modern world.

CS Lewis' classic, Mere Christianity, continues to have a life-changing impact on the world. In this episode, they turn to Lewis to challenge the modern concept of Dualism. Join Jared and Daniel as they discuss the limitations of Dualism and how Christianity is distinct!

CS Lewis has made a profound impact on Christianity as an apologist, writer, and philosopher. In this series, Daniel and Jared dialogue through some of Lewis' strongest arguments in Mere Christianity. Is there really a divine standard for morality? How can we know? The spiritual dynamics of suffering go much deeper than the pat-answers we are accustomed to hearing. God will certainly use suffering for good, but He didn't originally create man or creation to suffer. Suffering was a result of the Fall. Nonetheless, Scripture affirms that God takes what Satan meant for evil and turns it for our good. Enjoy this final episode on Luther's Theology of the Cross. 

Gotta have faith...faith...faith! Have faith in your faith, right? The topic of faith is as interesting as it is vital for our spiritual growth. Join Daniel and Jared as they explore more of Luther's, "Theology of the Cross," and the biblical concept of faith. 

In this episode Daniel and Jared continue their discussion on Martin Luther's, "Theology of the Cross." Isaiah 45.15 says, "Surely you (the LORD) are a God who hides himself." How is it possible that God both reveals and hides Himself at the same time? This apparent contradiction is one of the Bible's greatest paradoxes. "I know God because of my personal experience last Saturday night." "Yes, but I know God because of His Word." "Both of you are crazy, I know God because of nature and His creation." How exactly has God revealed Himself? How can we know for sure whether God has really spoken to us or we just ate some bad pizza that is stirring our gut?
