Episode 29, we sit down with our third-ever guest that was not a player, but instead a reporter for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tom has been around the Iowa program for a very long time and has been a part of some historic games and seasons, watching and reporting from the sidelines. A dream job for many, Tom is incredibly humble and fun to chat with. Episode 28, someone that was a big factor in plugging up holes on the defensive line last season, and is poised to be a huge impact player this season with the departure of VanNess on the line. We were really excited to chat with Mr. Black. Yahya is a massive human being and one of the kindest interviews we've conducted yet. A native Minnesotan, he chatted with us while on Christmas break at home and we even had a chance to chat with his dad for a second.

Episode 27 | Quinn Schulte
Episode 27, a massively underrated player in Iowa's secondary that had a huge impact this past season... Quinn Schulte. We had a great time chatting with Quinn and he was incredibly accommodating in allowing us to interview him. Quinn has been with the Hawkeyes since he joined as a preferred walk-on in 2019. However, Quinn is no stranger to the Hawkeye program, as he grew up close by in Cedar Rapids and played for his father at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, having a partial stake in leading his high school team to a state championship.

Episode 26, this man needs no introduction. Matthew had the time of his life chatting with Nico, and we learned a lot about him from an off the field perspective. Nico has been with the Hawkeye football program for a number of years now, and is set to return for one final season in 2023, hoping to surpass some receiving records in the process. Matthew even gets clarification on his last name pronunciation, and we relive the Iowa - Penn State game from 2 years ago.

Episode 25, one of the newest members of the IA Hawkeyes roster this past season, Freshman phenom kicker, Drew Stevens. Drew burst onto the scene and set some records for freshman kickers at Iowa, en route to becoming an All-Big-Ten honoree. Drew was a great guest and offered some insight as to how he focuses and his mentality for kicking and social media. Drew explained how he made it to IA City from South Carolina, and what he is looking forward to moving forward as his career wearing the Black and Gold.

Episode 24, the glue of the offensive line and someone that stepped into some very large shoes, Logan Jones. As a sophomore, Logan was thrown into a line that overcame some struggles this past year and was a part of a team with a beautiful story arc. He's making a name for himself in the weight room and the sky is the limit on the field at Center. Episode 16 | Luke Lachey
Episode 16, the future of Tight End U, Luke Lachey. As a sophomore, Luke is already making a name for himself in the tight end room both on and off the field. As a native of Columbus, Ohio, Luke's father played for the Buckeyes and is still the gameday broadcaster for the Bucs. It was a huge snag for the Hawkeyes to land this recruit, and we couldn't be any more excited to chat with him. Matthew and I both believe Luke will follow in his father's footsteps by playing successfully in the NFL soon. Luke was completely willing to talk to us and was an awesome guest!
Funny side story, my wife's Aunt was Luke's 6th grade history teacher in Ohio. We chat about that connection, how much he looks forward to going back to Columbus this season, and what super power he would prefer to have if given the choice.

Episode 13, quite possibly one of the most generationally recognized names in hawkeye football's recent history. With a father that played at Iowa in the late 90's, a brother that played defensive end recently, and another brother that has an offer to play at Iowa. Eric is the 3rd Epenesa in a family full of very talented athletes. He's a young underclassman on the team, but poised to make a true impact in the coming years, both on and off the football field. Episode 12 | Tory Taylor
Episode 12, the international guest edition. Matthew started out worried that he wouldn't be able to understand or comprehend what Tory was saying, and ended up having a blast. A native of Australia, Tory attended a punting academy and made the seamless transition to American college football with high praise from those closest to the program. Tory has won the hearts of fans with his charming looks, witty press conferences, and pinpoint punt placements. Tory Taylor will be a Junior Punter for the Iowa Hawkeyes this coming season. Normally punting is an afterthought of the fans, or an opportunity to get up and use the restroom during the punts, but Tory is captivating to watch. His control of the ball and placement make it such an exciting opportunity to see where our defense will be able to start. Matthew loved this one and it really was a lot of fun. Tory is a great guest and we think you'll love listening.

Episode 11 | Parker Dilley
Episode 11, we have our 1st ever guest that's not a student athlete. Parker Dilley is one of the creative team that produces the videos you see on social media for the Iowa Hawkeye Football Team. He's been working with the Hawkeyes since he was a student there in college, aside from the short stint when he was a Maryland Terrapin for less than a year. Parker makes an incredible product week after week with both hype videos, and hit films that cover each game. If you saw Matthew's first ever Hype video we made, we straight up ripped it off of Parker and his creative team. He was ever so gracious and was complimentary in our efforts to duplicate his masterpiece. They do say imitation is the purest form of flattery. Parker works 7 days a week during the season and is extremely fun to chat with. This is our longest podcast ever, and I feel like I could have chatted with him easily for another hour.

Episode 10, our 5th ever guest, and this one really comes through. Kaevon Merriweather is a Senior from the state of Michigan, competing as a Defensive Back for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He is a very well spoken, smart, thoughtful athlete, as evidenced by not his social media, but the University of Iowa's Social Media feed. He is spotted giving back time and time again to the youth. Our first upperclassman and what might be our most fun interview yet. Kaevon is an absolute beautiful soul, as well as an incredible athlete, and the conversation ranged from his memories at Iowa, experiences, his acting debut, and even got into some African-American history and how we can all do better. Honestly, we didn't get in everything I wanted to talk to him about, but I know we will have him back on again one day to finish our conversation. He's just a player that is really "Bigger Than the Game!"
