We also look at examples of comics from the past to convey the present. Then we dive into film, games, and other comics that have followed along this line of thinking and how it tankers sales in all mediums.
The 100 Man Slaughter Competition and The Massacre of Nanking
Warning: This is a violent episode about the war crimes that happened during the start of World War 2 in China. The taking of Nanking and the contest to kill 100 men. I also go into the aftermath of what happened after the war with these crimes and the ramifications of it being felt to this day.
Gryla, The Yule Lads, and Loss
On todays episode we take a look at Gryla and her clan, from her husbands, to the Yule cat, and the 13 Yule lads. We also go into how traditions like Gryla, Perchta, Krampus, and the Mari Lwyd, help cope with grief and loss in their own special ways.
Mari Lwyd
On today’s episode, we’re going to take a dive into the Welsh tradition of the Mari Lwyd, something I kept calling the Mary Lewd until I found the proper vernacular to pronounce it correctly. This one is a short one, but I hope you enjoy it all the same. Music for today's episode was created by Alexander Nakaraka
Krampus and Perchta
On todays episode, I dive into as much history as I can on Krampus and Perchta. I also go into how religion has played a part in both holidays.
