How Healthy Are Your Lady Parts? With Dr. Nicole Wiliams MD

How Healthy Are Your Lady Parts? With Dr. Nicole Wiliams MD

Ever wondered how healthy your lady parts are? Or if your lady parts are normal? Well, we're talking about it on today's episode of The Genuine Mom Club Podcast. On this episode we are joined by the amazing, Dr. Nicole Williams. Dr. Nicole E. Williams is a native of East St. Louis and board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. With the philosophy of marrying both alternative and traditional medicine, Dr. Williams opened The Gynecology Institute of Chicago in July 2013. Since that time, she has expanded the GIC to 3 locations and has cared for thousands of patients (and their vaginas). Dr. Williams has a degree in English Literature and Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MD from Loyola University Chicago. In 2008, she made it to the final round of ABC's "The Mole" reality show, taking second place. Dr. Williams has appeared in Redbook, Prevention Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Chicago Sun-Times, WomensForum.com, Buzzfeed, and Bustle. She is a tireless advocate for women's health issues, especially maternal issues, and has successfully lobbied Congress on behalf of her patients, having her formal remarks on maternal health entered into the public record. Dr. Williams also travels the world extensively, educating and operating on those who need it most in the most far flung places. She has worked in Haiti, Rwanda, Ghana, the Philippines, and Cambodia, to name a few. Dr. Williams has also made many appearances on ABC, NPR, WGN, CBS and FOX Chicago as a noted speaker on women's health. In This is How You Vagina, Dr. Williams seeks to dispel all the myths she still hears from patients every day about their vaginas, and to empower them with vagina knowledge.

Should Education Be One Size Fits All?

Should Education Be One Size Fits All?

Does your child struggle with learning? Were they considered 'late' when it came to reading and writing? Have you ever felt that the educational standards aren't fair to all students? Because not all students are the same, so why is education the same? Is there an alternative that can help our kids learn the way that they need to?

On this episode of The Genuine Mom Club Podcast I chatted with Lyssa Rida about what her family does for education. She shares how her son was struggling with reading, and what she did to remedy that.

When Mom-Friends Break Up!

When Mom-Friends Break Up!

Have you ever broken up with a mom-friend? Maybe the relationship started out so good, you shared about your motherhood journeys, you called each other and texted when you were nursing the baby to sleep. But as time went on and your babies grew, you realized conversations about other things (not related to diapers and breast milk or formula) just weren't going easy. Or, perhaps you found that this dear mom-friend turned toxic and narcissistic really quick! Maybe your mom-friend moved away, and the calls and texts became fewer and farther between. What do you do when a mom-friend relationship fades? When should you call it quits on a mom-relationship that has become unhealthy?

We are talking about Mom-Break-Ups on this episode of The Genuine Mom Club Podcast!

You Do Deserve Happiness.

You Do Deserve Happiness.

Would you say that you are hardest on yourself? Others can make mistakes, you forgive them. But when it comes to your mistakes, you feel great defeat, anger, and frustration when you’ve messed up? Do you feel like other people deserve great things, but you are undeserving?

When it comes to needing help, are you hesitant to ask for help from other people because you feel like you aren’t worthy, or that you don’t want to be a burden to anyone? These are just a few symptoms of low self-esteem. And it’s no small thing. When you don’t take care of physical conditions, it causes more serious problems throughout your body and mind. The same is true for low self-esteem. When you neglect it, it throws off more than just feeling bad about who you are.

Let’s work to change that. Listen to this Episode of The Genuine Mom Club Podcast and learn some simple steps to help you grow your self-confidence.

STOP Falling In The Rabbit Hole

STOP Falling In The Rabbit Hole

You know the situation when someone says something to you, and it's literally like burning coals to your soul.

Their words just hurt. And maybe they didn't mean to say something harsh, but you took it that way.

You took it personally, and then you felt overly defeated and disappointed. Then you found yourself dwelling on their words, or actions, for far too long.

How can you avoid this? How can you stop falling down the rabbit hole of 'taking things personally'? How can you be more confident, and not worry so much about what people are saying or reacting?

On today's episode of The Genuine Mom Club Podcast,  I'm sharing 6 proven steps for helping you stay out of the never ending rabbit hole! Listen now!

Finding Myself on the Motherhood Journey

Finding Myself on the Motherhood Journey

When you were a kid you had this flare of greatness. You wanted to do something big with your life, maybe you wanted to be a famous actress, chef, artist, or singer. But then as the years went on, that hope for the future faded. You had kids and now that feeling is completely lost. Every now and then you still get that little spark of excitement. But then it fades as you get overwhelmed with the many tasks you must handle as a parent.

Today on The Genuine Mom Club Podcast, I chatted with Kate House from The Live by Design Podcast. We chatted about this motherhood journey, finding joy and cultivating gratitude while finding yourself through it and so much more.

Kate is a wife, a mommy of two sweet boys, and she has a huge passion for helping others live a life of intention through joy, gratitude, and health. She’s also a yoga instructor, health coach, and blogger!  She’s an amazing podcaster that has a huge desire to help her listeners live their biggest, boldest life. She’s just a wholesome, wonderful, and joyful woman. And her words are sweet like honey!

Enjoy the show!

Let's Be Practical With Self-Care

Let's Be Practical With Self-Care

Self Care. A term that is being used high and low these days. Everyone and their mother are saying “Self-care! Make sure you get yourself care! You need to make yourself a priority.” I see all these cute little cliché posts on Instagram about self-care with perfectly placed graphics that show a lady with a face mask, or maybe nails getting painted.

But unfortunately, that self-care that people are so genuinely yelling from the roof tops has now become another stressor under a new mom’s skin. When I had kids (not that long ago), I remember everyone giving me advice “Make sure you sleep when baby sleeps.” “Leave the laundry and cleaning, you can get to it later.” And while these are all beautiful nuggets of wisdom, they aren’t always practical.

So, what are some practical ways to get that self-care and self-love that you so desperately need? Listen in for some fantastic ideas!

Everyone Has a Story to Share - Here's Mine.

It's not easy to talk about, but this episode is my why. Why I'm doing what I'm doing. And, why I'm so desperate to help all the mamas!
