Whoever said showing up is half the battle is full of shit.  The team that shows up but doesn’t perform still gets beat.  If you truly deserve all the things you’re daydreaming about you better stop wandering through life haphazardly.  You better get serious about your success and your efforts.  "You Can't Expect Extraordinary Results From Average Effort" Start living passionately and purposefully.  You deserve the best, but you’re gonna have to give your best to get it.  This will all lead me to discuss STANDARDS and how they dictate your success in life.  Your standards are your benchmarks for performance in all areas of your life. High standards equal high rates of return. Low standards equal a minimal existence and the acceptance of the average.  Today we will discuss and by discuss I mean I'm going to rant about WHY you should never lower your standards if you seak an amazing life.  Truth: Most people lower their standards to match or meet their efforts.  And this is why "most people" don't have the life they desire.  Elevate your efforts to the level of your standards, and you'll achieve all the things you wish for in your life.  Reminder: In life, we only get what we are willing to tolerate.  Only tolerate the best of yourself and for yourself.  Thanks for listening to the Thrive Forever Fit Show! Episode 40: Are You Being Derailed By Your Default Settings?
Are You Being Derailed By Your Default Settings?   In this episode, you'll learn how your default settings are getting in the way of you and your success.  What is a default setting?  Well in the world of technology (phones and computers) A default, in computer science, refers to the preexisting value of a user-configurable setting that is assigned to a software application, computer program or device. ... In many devices, the user has the option to restore these default settings for one or all options. In the human sense, it refers to your brain and your defaulted behaviors based on certain stimuli.  More simply stated you have been pre-programmed (your sub-conscience brian) with default reactions or behaviors. The majority of these defaults were programmed well before you become conscious of what was going on in the world.  Science states that few adults can remember anything that happened to them before the age of 3. Now, a new study has documented that it's about age 7 when our earliest memories begin to fade, a phenomenon known as “childhood amnesia.” In this episode, we will uncover some of your "default settings" and give you some actionable tips on how to reprogram your brain so that your default settings become positive and stop holding you back in life.  Thanks for listening to the Thrive Forever Fit Show! Stage Four 2 On Stage with Dylan Slattery LESS THAN 15% CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.  DYLAN WAS NOT EXPECTED TO LIVE. Feeling a lack of purpose in his senior year of college, Dylan was suffering from depression and thoughts of suicide.  Following his first diagnosis with melanoma at age 22, Dylan had surgery that left him with a seven-inch scar down the right side of his face.  Falling into a deeper depression, Dylan ran from his demons, masking them with alcohol, drugs, food, and any other distraction he could find.  8 months later, he was involved in a fatal car accident where he lost a high school classmate and friend. Just when things could not seem to get any worse, Dylan made the decision to leave college after his friends became worried he might take his own life.  Just when things couldn’t seem to get any worse, cancer returned, just a year and a half after his original diagnosis. In five years, Dylan literally took his life from Stage Four 2 On Stage.  Now he is challenging you to do the same. Whether it is a life-threatening diagnosis, a cancerous teammate, relationship, or self-sabotaging thoughts that are keeping you from pursuing your dreams. That is such a simple yet powerful thought.  It's 100% true.  You have everything you need to do everything you desire.  Truth: There are people with LESS than you doing MORE than you right now.  Less money, less education, less skills, etc... But the one difference is they are willing to DO everything it takes.  Listen I get it. The doing is the hard part.  It's much easier to sit around and pontificate about all the things you're GOING to do.  But the act of actually doing, well that's no fun. Ok, I'm not here to bust your chops.  I’m here to help you.  So, let's do this, what if I gave you three simple actions you could start right now that would get you doing instead of thinking?  Would you be down for that?? AWESOME!  1. Believe that you have everything you need because it's true. And the TRUTH is if you don't believe this first thing the rest of what I have to say doesn't matter.  2. Take action, not on everything, because that would be overwhelming. I want you to write down three actions you WILL take today that will move you closer to your goals.   Now, these aren't maybes or shoulds. These are MUST ACTIONS.  3. Accountability - I want you to tell one person exactly what you are going to do today and ask them to hold you accountable.  Ask them to text you throughout the day and check in on your MUST list.  Once you've completed your list, send them a text with a picture of your list with all three items checked off or a photo of you smiling from ear to ear because you are proud of yourself.  Repeat these three steps every day.  I still do this every single day!!!! Listening To This Podcast Will Improve Your Odds Of Abundant By 92%    It’s that time of year again.  People are making resolutions, declarations and shouting from the rooftops that this year is going to be different.  The truth is that this year won’t be different. In all honesty, it’s probably going to be worse.  You most likely you’ll end 2019 in worse shape physically, emotionally and financially.  I know, you’re thinking "WTF Jay" you’re supposed to be Mr. Positivity.  Listen I’m not trying to be Debbie The Downer, but I can’t lie to you and tell you it’s all going to be better because you’ve set a goal.  You see less than 8% of ALL New Years Resolutions are achieved. That’s an awful percentage, and it shows that most people don’t follow through with their BIG PLANS.  If we're really honest, most people don’t even believe the declaration when they make it.
