On this much awaited episode, JD waits for Max to wrap up his tennis match before the two get into discussing USATH Open Nationals, the summer of handball festivities, and the Handball News Team taking twitter by storm. We are still working out the kinks but hope you enjoy!

On this rare Monday edition of the pod, JD and Max give a recap of the Olympics opening weekend, a preview of what is to come with Flanders this weekend, and bikini bottom gate. If you don't get this reference to bikini bottom gate, you have been living under a rock...Patrick. Get it? We try to be funny here. Anyways twitter has been absolutely bonkers for handball, as it always is every four years for the Olympics. Let's keep it going!

On this episode of the Shootin' Straight Handball Podcast, JD and Max are once again without a special guest and forced to talk to themselves....Anyways, they give a little preview of the Olympics, regarding handball of course; as well as the upcoming beach handball events in Columbus and Max's trip with RIP Beach Handball to Portugal. We also discuss a little Kentucky Sports Radio after a caller named Mark dialed in to talk about the Stags. 

The handball podcast boys took a bit of a hiatus but are getting back into the swing of things. In this episode of Shootin' Straight, JD and Max discuss how the new Columbus Handball League is going, JD's trip with Team USA to the Canary Islands, and a brief recap of Handball Heroes II. Max is in the car driving to New Jersey, so not an eventful episode.

Welcome back shooters for a Star Wars edition of Team Handball Tuesday! While we did not mention Star Wars once on the show, we still had a good time catching up with JD and Max. Some good news in the Columbus handball world is the launching of the Columbus Team Handball league set to start in just a few weeks. The lads are pretty pumped and excited to see it get rolling. Otherwise this episode is just a bunch of rambling and mumbo jumbo. Hope you enjoy! 

Sunday Salutations to all our sleepy shooters out there! We were able to sit down and chat with show logo designer and Columbus artist, Dustin Bennett, to chat about a plethora of topics. On another unprecedented series of technical issues on this tumultuous Team Handball Tuesday, JD and Max were joined by special guest Jeremy Smith. After roughly 22 minutes, well who are we are kidding the entire episode, of audio problems we just powered on. Eventually we talked about Jeremy moving to Columbus to sail with the Armada, future coaching, life at OSU Team Handball, and some lacrosse similarities, since ya know this is a lacrosse podcast.   Hope you find some enjoyment out of this episode, as we slowly improve the quality of our show. We will be back to normal one day, we promise.

On this Terrific Team Handball Tuesday edition of the show, JD and Max were faced with the standard technical difficulties but this time different. We were unable to connect to twitch completely, new problem which was resolved later in the night. The next issue was that because nobody was listening to the recording while it was happening, there will be a huge echo the entire i am talking, which is unfortunately a lot...this is one of those episodes we don't want to post but we will for the people. Anyways, JD and Max just catch up on some things and do a little story telling.

On this First Friday edition of the show, JD and Max are joined by Sydney Worthy and Charley Kale from the University of Akron Women's Soccer Team. We had some technical difficulties but we have learned from our mistakes in 2020 and recorded the zoom meeting. Downside was we didn't start recording the zoom right away...but for what we did capture, it was still a solid show. On this Manic Monday edition of the show, Max and JD are joined by Jake Withers. Jake is professional lacrosse player for the NLL Halifax Thunderbirds and the PLL Waterdogs. Jake is a fellow Buckeye so the three talk some Ohio State stuff, as well as a whole slew of other things.  Jake showed up a little late, so the first 40 minutes is just Max and JD jabber-jawing, enjoy!

On this wacky Wednesday edition of the show, we had no co-hosts, a whole slew of technical difficulties, and special guest Bailey Croft. Bailey plays D3 College Basketball at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH. Bailey has played in some handball events in the past and so we talk about what it would take to recruit someone like him coming out of high school. On this fantastic Friday edition of the show, JD and Max are joined by Greg Gurenlian. Greg is a former professional lacrosse player in the MLL (MVP Winner), PLL, and Team USA (Gold Medal Winner). The three talk some lacrosse, some handball, some Hanukkah. We hope to see Team Beast take on Team Moose in handball sometime in 2021!

Josh is no longer able to play due to his knee issues but has since become an established referee in the region. On another Team Handball Tuesday edition of the podcast, JD and Joey were joined by professional lacrosse player Mark McNeill! Mark plays for the Archers Lacrosse Club and is a graduate of North Carolina where he played lacrosse and football. JD and Joey educate Mark on a myriad of handball questions and Mark enlightens everyone on some lacrosse topics. Joey has challenged Mark and his PLL buddies to a handball showdown in Detroit so we look forward to seeing that! We would also like to apologize for an issue we had both with OBS and twitch. The twitch steam went off the air after only 4 minutes and OBS stopped recording, even though it said it was recording, after an hour. It is a lesson for us to record the meetings on zoom too for the future!

Neil works in the Sports Analytics Department at ESPN and has been working on bringing statistical analysis to handball. The two discuss many points ranging from how to capitalize on the rules of handball, different tactics to implement, and how utilizing the data can help your team change the outcome of the game.
