Reflection Part II: Resentment, Anxiety-mindsets, Inflection Points, and Becoming
Last episode of this season!! Mitou and I use this episode to dive deeper into boundaries and resentment and how they show up in our lives. We also talk about lessons we've taken away from this year including developing new skills like creativity, curiosity, identifying inflection points, and having faith in our abilities to overcome and become.
Bye 2022, thank you for all that you've taught us and may we be present and resilient for all that's ahead. Cheers!
Reflection Part I: Uncertainty, Boundaries, Brokenness, and PTSD
This episode is a bit different than the others in that Mitou Nguyen and I interview each other as we reflect on this past year. We start the conversation with how we started this year 2022. Mitou shares his journey with uncertainty and the stress/anxiety that prefaces big life milestones like buying a home and wedding. I share my most vulnerable moments of this year and the feeling of brokenness and hitting rock bottom.
Trigger warning: I do share my lowest of moments including when I was diagnosed with PTSD and the experience that follows.
I really enjoyed this podcast because of how we pursued the objective truth with where we were at the beginning of year and the growth we've seen since.

Married to medicine
I really appreciate this conversation because we talk about false narratives that show up in our lives and the impact it has made. We talk about anger, resentment, and sadness but also the joy and gratitude we feel towards our partners that show up for us.

Growing up in the church and unpacking both the good and the bad
Raquel H. and I grew up together since we were in third grade. We both clung onto Christianity as a core part of our identity. As we gotten older, we talk about the shift from a black and white mentality to seeing the nuances and humanness. We talk about the crucial role church has played by being a source of healing and shelter but also its role in perpetuating toxic messages like elitism, patriarchy, and fear-driven guilt and shame.
What is emotional work and why is it important?
In our first episode, I invited my friend Mitou N. to share his journey with emotional work. Mitou shares his principles of pursuing objective truths and leaning into compassion and how he benefits from the intentional emotional work.
