Natasha Bascevan is Anishinaabe-Métis from Red River and Kitigan Zibi. She spent time this summer finishing her Master's of Education, gardening, watching her three children enjoy life on the river, and observing changes in nature. Natasha has worked as a First Nations, Métis and Inuit education consultant with the York Region District School Board. This fall, Natasha is embarking on a new journey as an Instructor at York University's Waaban Indigenous Teacher Education Program. Rabia is the recipient of the Elementary Teachers' Federations of Ontario’s 2020-2021 Anti-Racist and Equity Activism Award. Recently, Eco-Inquiry hired Rabia as an Equity Consultant to review the website with an equity, inclusivity and social justice lens.
