This podcast is for teachers and parents who believe children must be loved first, and no academic subject, content matter, or trend can replace the human connection all children need to thrive. It’s about bringing authentic learning to students and encouraging creativity, collaboration and the use of critical thinking skills throughout the school day and beyond. It is an introduction to and based on my forthcoming book: Educate the Heart: Screen-Free Activities for Grades PreK-6 to Inspire Authentic Learning. Please join me and be part of the conversation! Together we can be so much better!
This episode is inspired by a recent blog post from Jon Wennstrom and the brand new children’s book “One Drop Of Kindness” by Jeff Kubiak. It will discuss a classic, simple, yet powerful classroom activity called ‘The Wrinkled Heart’ which will teach children the power we all have to choose our words carefully and be mindful of the way we treat others.
This episode will discuss the concept of having a calm corner and you don’t need any kind of special equipment, supplies, or even a corner! It will explain how simple it is to give children the opportunity to calm down or cheer up in a practical, real-life way. Details, rules, and procedures are made so simple so you will be able to begin to teach your children self regulation strategies as soon as you are done listening.
This episode will give basic information about what STEM means, what types of materials to begin with, and how to immediately begin introducing the STEM design process to your students in a meaningful way.
This episode will discuss 7 research-based strategies for asking great questions that will spark imagination, activate critical thinking skills and give students opportunities to be creative. For parents and educators of students of all ages.
I will introduce myself and tell you how and why this podcast came about. I hope you’ll join the discussion about how we can create meaningful experiences for our children and I’ll share a little bit in this podcast about how collaborative group work is implemented in my classroom.
