Bridge Over Troubled Water
In part 3 of our 4-part series, "Spirit on the Water," we are seeking a biblical approach for navigating life's trials and chaos.  Today we mention one approach that is tempting but we should ultimately avoid. More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Special: My Inner Spiritual Circus
In this episode, Jeremy opens the curtains and gives us a glimpse into his own spiritual and vocational journey lately. We are standing at a crossroads. The church and cultural landscape is shifting, and certain things need to come crashing down. Out of the rubble will grow smaller, deeper, more authentic forms of Christian community asking for the good and ancient Way of Jesus. Be encouraged! More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Spirit Over Our Chaos
This is part 1 in a 4-part series called "Spirit on the Water" looking at the creation story in Genesis 1:2. What does it mean that "the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters"? More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Israel Trip 4: Hezekiah's Tunnel
Today I share my adventure of walking through Hezekiah's 2,700 year old tunnel, and offer some spiritual thoughts on the tunneling tenacity of Heaven's light that comes searching for us in our dark moments. Israel Trip 1: Scratch 'n Sniff Faith
Israel has been in the news lately, and so I thought I'd take share some reflections from my recent trip to the Holy Land. In this episode, I ask: Why bother going on a pilgrimage to that little contested strip of real estate?

Grace in a Hot Tub
There are moments in our Christian lives when we hear the rooster crow, and we realize we've completely blown it. This is one of those moments for me, and the irony is quite juicy. What lesson can God teach a preacher using a leaky inflatable hot tub? More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Life's the Curriculum, You're the Assignment
Many of us unknowingly distract ourselves from the chief task of personal spiritual formation by keeping busy attending Bible classes and storing up Bible knowledge. Here's a gentle reminder that everyday life is the real classroom and we are the main assignment. Thankfully we have a reliable "lab partner." More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Wisdom Has A Face
While we divide humanity into conservatives and liberals, the Bible describes people as either courting Lady Wisdom or Madam Folly. Then Jesus steps onto the scene and things really get interesting. Let's explore Wisdom today. More at www.jeremyberg.org.

WWJD? Go Sit By A Lake
“Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake” (Matt. 13:1). Following after Jesus can be rigorous and demanding, but sometimes it means relaxing by the lake. Here's a spiritual practice we can all get excited about. More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Chasing Lambs
I begin my day with a morning walk at Gale Woods Farm near our home. Today I came upon a baby lamb that had somehow gotten out of the sheep pen. He was running around, panicky and with terror in his eyes. My pastoral instincts kicked as I approached the little lamb saying, "Fear not little lamb, I'm a professional shepherd. I'll help you!" He ran the other way. More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Antique Shop: In Search of Something
"In that musty antique shop I once again caught a whiff of a memory of a moment I was probably never intended to have." This is one of my more personal and favorite reflections on one of my secret hobbies. May we all realize what we're searching for is usually closer than we think.

When Jesus visited Mary and Martha's house, Mary chose rightly and Martha got the short end of the stick. But I think we have been a bit hard on Martha through the centuries, and today I want to provide a new angle on this familiar story. More at www.jeremyberg.org.

God, Evil, & Spiritual Warfare
Why is the world so messed up?  Where is God in all of it? What role, if any, do Satan, angels and demons play in all the suffering? How do we face evil and suffering in a Christ-centered way? We are thrilled to gather together in-person again at St. Martin’s beginning this Sunday at 5pm for a 6-week Bible course “God, Evil, & Spiritual Warfare” I will be teaching. Join us in person or via zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84003569838?pwd=ZTljcG9aZkwxeE5vNEFkZ2Y4eUhtUT09. Grace and peace!

As a dad of 3 curious children, all of the new faith films being released offer great pathways into discussions about Easter and the story of Jesus. This past week we enjoyed two in particular that I thought I would recommend to others.

Counting on God
Jesus wouldn't last a week teaching mathematics in our schools today. His equations don't seem to add up from our earthly point of view. But God's strange math is something you can really count on for what counts most in the Kingdom of God! More at www.jeremyberg.org.

Good Friday: Dark, Cramped, & Stinky
I would summarize the past 12 months in 3 words: Dark, Cramped, and Stinky. When Jesus reached for an image to describe the passion he was about to endure, he compared it to Jonah's dark, cramped and stinky 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of a fish. Find a quiet place this evening and join Jeremy as he guides us in a series of Good Friday meditations from the belly of the fish.

Which Jesus?
Some Greek manuscripts reveal that Barabbas, the criminal released instead of Jesus, was also named Jesus. These two Jesuses present two different pathways to freedom. Which Jesus do you follow?

What if the fig tree Jesus cursed could tell his side of the story? Written and performed by Jeremy, this is a dramatic retelling of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem to shouts of "Hosanna!" during his last week, and how his fate was strangely intertwined with the fate of that old tree.
