On the heels of the racial unrest that followed from the heartless murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, Jewell discusses some of the heartbreaking truths about America and how she has tried to cope. The evil legacy of slavery left a gaping wound in the heart of America—both Black and White alike. And it led to racist mindsets that play themselves out in ugly, destructive ways. Let’s talk about what the cultural climate is revealing about the heart sickness most African Americans repress every day... just to survive.
