Counterparts - JFK - May 9th 2023
www.counterpartsshow.comJohn Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often referred to by his initials JFK, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. He was the youngest person to assume the presidency by election and the youngest president at the end of his tenure. Kennedy served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his foreign policy concerned relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. A Democrat, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in both houses of the U.S. Congress prior to his presidency. Born into the prominent Kennedy family in Brookline, Massachusetts, Kennedy graduated from Harvard University in 1940 before joining the U.S. Naval Reserve the following year. During World War II, he commanded a series of PT boats in the Pacific theater. Kennedy's survival following the sinking of PT-109 and his rescue of his fellow sailors made him a war hero and earned the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, but left him with serious injuries. After a brief stint in journalism, Kennedy represented a working-class Boston district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953. He was subsequently elected to the U.S. Senate and served as the junior senator for Massachusetts from 1953 to 1960. While in the Senate, Kennedy published his book, Profiles in Courage, which won a Pulitzer Prize. Kennedy ran in the 1960 presidential election. His campaign gained momentum after the first televised presidential debates in American history, and he was elected president, narrowly defeating Republican opponent Richard Nixon, who was the incumbent vice president. He was the first Catholic elected president.
Counterparts - The Pyramids - April 25th 2023
www.counterpartsshow.com The PYRAMIDS!! Last week we covered UFOs and resolved the mysteries with our single show! You're welcome! This week we will solve the mysteries of the Pyramids of Giza and maybe a few others from around the world. Join us to get real answers! The Giza Pyramid complex (also called the Giza necropolis) in Egypt is home to the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx. All were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, between 2600 and 2500 BC. The site also includes several temples and cemeteries and the remains of a workers' village. The site is at the edges of the Western Desert, approximately 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) west of the Nile River in the city of Giza, and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) southwest of the city centre of Cairo. It forms the northernmost part of the 16,000-hectare (40,000-acre) Pyramid Fields of the Memphis and its Necropolis UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 1979.[1] The pyramid fields include the Abu Sir, Saqarra and Dahshur pyramid complexes, that were all built in the vicinity of Egypt's ancient capital of Memphis. The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Khafre are the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt, and they have historically been common as emblems of Ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. They were popularised in Hellenistic times, when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is by far the oldest of the Ancient Wonders and the only one still in existence.

Here's an excerpt from an article regarding what the Pentagon is saying.
CRAZY!!!ARTICLE:
There is a possibility that extraterrestrial motherships and smaller probes may be visiting planets in our solar system, the head of the Pentagon’s unidentified aerial phenomena research office noted in a report draft shared Tuesday.“ an artificial interstellar object could potentially be a parent craft that releases many small probes during its close passage to Earth, an operational construct not too dissimilar from NASA missions,” Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, wrote in a research report co-authored by Abraham Loeb, chairman of Harvard University’s astronomy department.

Counterparts - Giselle Achecar - April 11th 2023
https://www.giselleachecar.com/
I’ve had a unique life. Though I’ve written tens of thousands of pages of stories (whether for myself or others), I’m not sure how I conjured the story I’ve actually lived. I’m an attorney, marketing executive, brand coach, chef, mom, environmental advocate, Zumba aficionado and Latina. All of those pieces of me and the experiences I’ve lived as a result make me who I am - an evolving creative creature on this glorious planet. That picture of me embodies my essence. A dear friend snapped that photo during the product shoot for Gigi’s Organics, my organic Latin seasonings brand. I was euphoric, having achieved a creative milestone I’d dreamed about ten years prior. I couldn’t have launched Gigi’s Organics without having the skills gained from the successes and “failures” (opportunities for growth) along the way. I love stories and they’re everywhere - in recipes, books, screenplays, legal briefs, social media posts, and videos. Stories tell the world who we are, how we think, and what we value. Throw in a flawed hero(ine), a compelling journey, and a redemption arc, and I’m hooked. Because I feel human when immersed in that experience. Stories make me feel a part of something bigger than myself. That’s why brand storytelling is the secret sauce for business growth. People resonate with stories that make them feel like they’re members of a community. They support businesses that support them. I’ve had a diverse background across industries as varied as technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, media and entertainment, food, fashion, and law, leading marketing teams at startups and Fortune 100 companies. I’ve launched businesses in media, food, and biotech and even had three screenplays optioned by major Hollywood studios. I now use that knowledge to empower entrepreneurs to build and scale their brands by giving them the confidence and skills to create messaging that positions them to manifest their vision. That’s the impact I give people - helping them achieve their dreams. www.counterpartsshow.com

Counterparts - Charles Andrew Payne - January 24th 2023
Actor Charles Andrew Payne has a vast resume. One of his proudest roles is Pastor Bruce Barnes in the feature film LEFT BEHIND: RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST. Pastor Barnes is the bedrock of the story, a man torn between the faith he professes and what he believes. His family is taken in the rapture, but he has been left behind. Charles also narrates the film as his character Pastor Barnes.
Past television series and feature films include Miracle In East Texas where Charles played Reverend Reece. He had the role of Jock on the television series Wynona Earp and the role of Darryl in The Surrogate While living in Vancouver one of the roles he most enjoyed was playing Breeze on MacGyver with Richard Dean Anderson and worked with Richard again on Stargate. He had the pleasure of working with Johnny Depp on 21 Jump Street in one of his earlier TV roles. He also worked with Kevin Sorbo on Andromeda and Miracle in East Texas. He joined both Pam Grier and Snoop Dog on The L – Word. A fun fact is that Charles often gets mistaken for Samuel L Jackson. People get mad when he tells them “I’m not him”. Considering Samuel is 20-plus years older and taller, “I think it will be a great day when he gets mistaken for me, then I’ll know I’ve made it.” add Charles.
LEFT BEHIND: RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST is coming to theaters nationwide beginning Thursday, January 26. Charles joins a stellar cast. Starring Kevin Sorbo (GOD’S NOT DEAD, SOUL SURFER), Neal McDonough (MINORITY REPORT, “Arrow,” TIMELINE), Corbin Bernsen (“Psych,” MAJOR LEAGUE, “The Resident”), Bailey Chase (“Longmire,” “Saving Grace”), Greg Perrow (ACTOR FOR HIRE, THOSE WHO KILL), Sarah Fisher (“Degrassi: The Next Generation,” ROXY) and Sam Sorbo (LET THERE BE LIGHT, HOPE BRIDGE, MIRACLE IN EAST TEXAS), LEFT BEHIND: RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST is the next chapter of the mega-hit LEFT BEHIND film franchise, based on the 80 million-copy New York Times bestselling book series of the same name.

Counterparts - Derek Vanderhorst - October 18th 2022
We welcome Derek Vanderhorst to Counterparts this week. Derek has an incredible story to share and we are honored to have him here.
Derek reclaims his voice on his debut album WILDFLOWER - which was released April 15, 2022. The Folk-Americana artist and acclaimed Hollywood sound designer return to his roots following a devastating head and neck cancer diagnosis.
Derek was diagnosed with stage 4 head and neck cancer in 2016, he was told he might lose his voice–– or worse, die.
After forging a successful Hollywood career as a sought-after film and documentary supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer– known for his work on the Academy Award-nominated No Country for Old Men, as well as Hidden Figures, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye– Derek is now pouring his renewed passion and dedication into the music of his own.
The moment he was diagnosed, he knew his lifelong dedication to music could no longer take a back seat. Now, 5-years cancer-free, (and after hundreds of hours of vocal rehab), Derek has re-claimed his voice as an Americana artist releasing his first-ever solo album, Wildflower, in April 2022.
With his post-cancer outlook on life, Derek hopes to empower and inspire others that it is never too late to find your voice: During recovery, Vanderhorst wrote over 150 songs. Eleven of those songs make up Wildflower. “It’s an album of metaphorically and emotionally going home and becoming grounded,” he explains. “It’s about finding balance in life.”

Counterparts - Mr. ESQ - June 7th 2022
Mr. ESQ
Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Mr. Esq had a rough time during his formative years, which threatened his musical career, but with determination and resilience, he is back on track Setbacks are inevitable in life. However, one can see them as positive lessons instead of demoralizing failures. Learning to deal with setbacks and obstacles is important in moving forward and achieving one’s goal. This is the story of Mr. Esq, a rapper, singer, and songwriter from British Columbia. Mr. Esq was born and raised in a somewhat troubled area with six siblings, three older boys, and girls. He was introduced to the realities of life at a very tender age, and the negative aspects of life seemed to appeal more.
Mr. Esq got into drug distribution and driving for illegal activities before he could possess a license. His association clearly defined his life at the time as Mr. Esq worked for people who were consistently disobedient to the law. Soon, that way of life became natural to him, and he continued to delve deeper into it.
When Mr. Esq was 18, he got a lady pregnant and decided to quit his violent lifestyle to cater to the needs of his unborn baby. As expected, leaving such a lifestyle and not suffering consequences is unheard of, and Mr. Esq had to ward off his former colleagues who were still demanding his services. Shortly after moving away, Mr. Esq’s child passed away at his birth. The unfortunate event introduced a dark chapter in his life as Mr. Esq started drinking heavily and getting involved in vices again.
Before long, Mr. Esq was faced with fourteen years of Federal Penitentiary. He got a little bit lucky, getting a combined sentence of ten years. While at the Penitentiary, Mr. Esq made several discoveries that established a pivot for his restoration. Speaking about it, Mr. Esq had this to say, “I recognized I never properly coped with the death of my son, and I drowned myself in alcohol instead. Doing so was a large contributing factor to my behavior that landed me in the bad situations I was in and was the result of why I was sitting where I was. I decided to make changes in my character that I hoped would result in a better quality of life. This was when I got back into writing.”

Counterparts - Wellness Talk - Five Ways to Unfriend Sugar - May 28th 2022
Ever since he was a kid, George was always active. He was an athlete growing up playing high school baseball, and football and was heavily active in martial arts and strength training. After high school, George’s passion for music led him to become a musician and he has been a part-time professional drummer for the last 20 years.
Through those years he realized he also was dealing with a lot of chronic conditions such as allergies, bronchitis, frequent sinus infections and lower back pain due to severe athletic injuries. He decided that he needed to take full responsibility for his health and not leave it in the hands of prescription and over-the-counter medications, which many times made the conditions worse. So he read and studied hundreds of books and tapes on nutrition, health, spirituality, and personal development.
For the last 12 years, George has been using Strength training, yoga, meditation, and high-level nutrition to enhance his healthy lifestyle. He has since used all these principles to help heal the injury, heal all his other chronic conditions and keep himself in shape. He has studied, Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, sports nutrition, and various forms of meditation.
His goal is to help spread the message of natural health and healing and to do his part to help people take responsibility for their health. His philosophy is that healing is not only physical but mental as well. Your outlook on life and your ability to be in the moment have just as much to do with healing as eating right and exercising. He also believes that making a few simple changes over time can lead to a major difference. It all starts with taking responsibility for your health and letting your body’s natural healing ability take over.
