(Warning: This Sherpa Sheet makes continuous use of the word "super"...in case that word easily offends you. But listen to the interview with Jasmin, and it makes heaps of sense.) Before we started our recording, Jasmin asked if it was okay if her cockatiels flew around during the interview. Not a problem (Not like it was a pet lion!!).So we had built - in nature sounds for a super-down to earth person! I really admired her candor throughout the interview, whether about modeling, acting, social media, posing for Playboy, or cosmetic surgery. (Super honest!) She told me she really wanted to let people know about cosmetic surgery, and has appeared on other venues to discuss it as well. She's worked so hard to get to the level that she's at, and she has a great appreciation of how far she's gotten (super grounded!) . Plus! What does a supermodel do on her day off? Why is Leo so lucky? Mom knows best! Which bird doesn't live up to their name? And, is "Beauty by Jasmin" on the shelves yet?? (Also, happy super birthday, Jasmin!)

Welcome to the Sherpa Sheet! It's the "Save the Earth" edition. I wanted to be sure I would pronounce Na'ilah's name correctly for the interview (I know it bugs me when people mispronounce "sherpa"..or "Jim"). She prefers the pronunciation "NY-lah..like the Lion King." And oddly enough, isn't preserving our planet for the next generation part of "The Circle of Life"? (My lawyer,Dirty Louie, says I won't have to pay Elton John and Tim Rice royalties for saying that.) I definitely agree that she is living up to the definition of her name. Na'ilah's clearly a woman of many talents, and her creative side is evident in her podcast. She even "out-sherpa'd" me with her podcast suggestions. She listens to more than I do in a given time. Hmmmm...If I hang up on this podcasting gig, I may have found a Sherpa Successor. Plus! Seafood lasagne! Gary Vee strikes again! Styrofoam gets the boot! And, The sherpa's elementary school teacher leaves a lifetime littering lesson!

If I could bottle and sell Apple Crider's energy from our interview alone, I'd already be on track to making money. He's definitely someone who is wise beyond his years in matters of marketing and personal finance. If you looked up "ambition" in the dictionary, you'd probably see his picture. He's no fly-by night-get-rich-quick snake oil salesman. He's clearly a guy who's been out in the trenches, and can walk the walk and talk the talk with his podcast guests. His podcast and website will give you good information regarding earning money, Plus! Money-making apps! Mom as a podcast guest? It was a real pleasure speaking with Zach for this week's episode. Talk about someone with a real passion for life, and a spiritual connection to what he does for others. Super easy to listen to his show, too, since it's in easy 1-minute bites. And he gives you a minute worth thinking about. I think Mary Catherine will certainly grow up in a world where her parents will always let her know how special she is to them. After our conversation, I got him Dan Young's (my previous guest, who hosts Total Wellness Radio) contact info. I think even if they don't end up on each other's podcast, they would still have a great conversation about living a healthy life. But fingers crossed for networking. Also! All meat, all the time? Is it too late to eat that (thank you, Sherpa Bride!)? Who needs a coach? And, does the Master's Tournament of Disc Golf give you a green jacket, or a ladder to get your Frisbee off the roof?

Bonus-sized episode this week, and for good reason! Bruce Goldberg and I had a chat for about 2 hours, not all of which is on the show. Like I mention in the interview, part of the reason Bruce was brought on to be our voiceover guy was so there was a different voice for the podcast, for the segments in our show. I felt that having Bruce on for an interview helps introduce him to the audience, since he's an important part of the show now. And what an interesting story he has to tell. From a kid with a radio set, to a dj, to radio personality, to A&R guy, to business owner to voiceover artist, this is one guy who has no interest in being complacent in life. I found his story fascinating, funny, and inspirational as well. I found him on a site called fiverr, but I got a million dollars' worth of advice in our conversation. Plus! Battle of the AI assistants! Swearing to make a 30-second ad better! Bruce's assistant sounds familiar! And Bruce notices something off with Milli Vanilli, but he doesn't blame it on the rain! (but if you're gonna blame it on something....) Bruce's info: www.thevoiceoverguy.com.au ; also on www.fiverr.com as radiomania.

Welcome back to the Sherpa Sheet! A little background on this week's episode. I had initially been scheduled to interview just Dave Roberts for this show, because Amanda Greenwood wasn't sure if she could make it. I had a feeling it would be fun with one or two of them. Luckily, she was able to make it. At first, there was no audio for our interview, but once we got it working, BOOM! Dave and Amanda just got the ball rolling before we even started recording. This was actual conversation:
Dave: Jim, I have to warn you, I'm not wearing any trousers.
Amanda: Me, neither. In fact, I'm wearing my husband's underwear.
Dave: So am I!
Now, I don't know about you, but when you start off like that, I know it's going to be a fun interview. I found it interesting how they found lives and careers for themselves in South Korea. As for me, I get a little nervous if I have to drive into the next county. You can tell throughout the interview, and their podcast, what good friends they are, and they were up to whatever the interview had in store for them. They're the type of people that you could go out to lunch with and come back with as old friends. They certainly were at home at the Sherpa Chalet...with (or without) pants .Plus: Yo! Sup!: The Podcast! Chessboxing-.the Sport of Kings (and Rooks)? Amanda's FitBit gauges the show! An (almost) K-Pop duet with Dave! And, if you are "literally overwhelmed with a case of the Mondays during a 7th inning stretch" these Owls will be looking for you! (I'll be hiding in the Chalet, as a home tonsorial artist.)

I guess we could call this edition of the Sherpa Sheet, "When the Sherpa met the Kid". And I certainly was glad to... Under the charge of overusing the word "interesting", I plead guilty, which I guess is better than pleading insanity. I really enjoyed my conversation with Stacy. He really knows a lot about literature, and you could see how much it plays a part in his life. He doesn't just write, he creates-which is what authors aspire to do. He's played so many roles in his life and it doesn't appear that he'll be slowing down for quite some time. Stacy and i spoke about his influences, and how his life has influenced his writing. Plus-the story of Tsoro the Watcher-and what to watch out for in the next season! Stacy's connection to previous guest Susannah Lewis! How cadence helps Stacy write! And what will The Kid read to "the kid", after he makes his debut?

Hmmmm....they say you're not supposed to discuss religion in mixed company. But after interviewing Michael Wood, I would think differently. Here's a talented guy, who wears many hats, who uses his talents to present a DAILY podcast of Bible passages. Regardless of what your religion is, his podcast is a well-produced broadcast that you will enjoy, and get a better understanding of the Bible. In this episode, Michael discusses his background and how religion became an important part of his life, and how the podcast has affected him. Also, did Jesus really say "Hold on, I'm recording!"? Bible bloopers! The link between Overwatch and the Bible! And "Dante's Inferno:The Podcast?" I think Facebook might be the fifth level of Hell, so I'm intrigued!

As the old saying goes, "You gotta get up early in the morning ....to get a podcast interview with Dan Young!" Or something like that...
Great early morning chat with Dan this week. He tells us what inspired him to get into the healthcare field, and about his work as a clinician. We discuss how pharmaceutical and natural medicine can peacefully coexist. And, if you think that supplements aren't checked by the FDA, you might have to rethink that. He also shares the healthy habits he adheres to in his life to keep health problems at bay(and it's not just an apple a day). Also, the rise of "cyberchondria" (love the word, hate the reality of it)!! An inside look at the Keto diet! And all this time I thought it was the Cheeto diet. First things first. Please don't confuse The Sherpa Sheet with The Mueller Report. We're the one that's not redacted. I have to confess...I really didn't know much about RPG's until I started listening to Thornvale. Granted, I grew up in the era of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) but I never really followed it. So, thank you, Susannah, for explaining it, and recommending other podcasts in this genre. I think that she will be the type of writer who will gather a large following in a short period of time, since she has such a love of the genre as many of its fans do. We also discuss how "Stranger Things has helped revive RPG. Also, monsters in Florida! Keeping the Vermont world separate from the Florida world! Characters with special powers! RPG players taking over! And, Susannah finds love on Christian Mingle !!( I didn't ask if her husband could sprout wings, but wouldn't that be cool?) Plus, we also throw in a dose of Sherpa Suggestions and Podcast Pointers. This time, we'll discuss your podcast settings. Did you know you can make me talk faster? It's a week about positivity! Let's start this week's Sherpa Sheet with a story. When I went to check out Deanne's podcast, and I read about its origin, 2 words came to mind... instant fascination. And after hearing some of her episodes, I said to myself, "This is someone I'm going to enjoy interviewing. ' And my Sherpa instincts were spot on. Here's a person who can juggle so much in her life and and keep up the positivity she shares in her podcasts. They really will put a smile on your face if you need a pick me up, or just want to maintain a sunny disposition. Her story is one of inspiration from an unexpected source. We talk about news reporting, how parents can be positive for their kids, and the problem with the lack of upbeat stories in the media. Plus, Deanne shares happy news from her own personal life! And was the Sherpa fanboying about an Oprah podcast?? You'll only be sure if you're listening! Plus, some kind words to some wonderful people ...with a presidential nomination!. And naturally, Sherpa Suggestions!!
As previously mentioned, Episode 5 was a "podcast primer" of sorts, to the listeners who aren't that experienced with podcasts. This week, I introduce an occasional segment called "Podcast Pointers" for those people. This time around, I answer the question, "How do you share a podcast?" If you've got a question about podcast apps, the show, a certain guest, or anything else concerning life on Mount Podcastia, join the people who have podcasts that want to promote them, who can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I'll try to help you out. Welcome to the Sherpa Sheet for Episode 5. I got some new listeners this past week who are new to the world of podcasts. So , we take a sneak peek behind the curtain of Too Many Podcasts!...and realize that this curtain needs to be vacuumed. Ugh. I explain what a podcast is and how to subscribe, and how to unsubscribe , once you realize you've made a grave judgement in error. Also, the origin of Viva La Sherpalution and how to become one of the People of the Pods! Let's not forget the debut of Mike Rafone this week! (Get it?)
But of course, it's not a true episode of Too Many Podcasts! without some Sherpa Suggestions. This time around, it's some of the most popular podcasts on Mount Podcastia. Maybe you'll find some of your favorites here?
This week's Sherpa Suggestions:Analysis of A Murder by Dr. Phil; Stupid Genius with Emma Chamberlain; The Joe Rogan Experience; On Second Thought: The Trevor Noah Podcast; Root of Evil-The True Story of the Hodel Family and The Black Dahlia; Sherpa fave : Stuff You Should Know.
In the future, once we gain more listeners, I'd love to do a listener feedback show. Emails, voicemails on the Anchor app. reviews, questions and comments would be featured. And I WILL name names! Of the listeners, that is....
Until next time, subscribe, spread the word, follow me on social media, and do the hokey pokey, because that's what it's all about! Viva La Sherpalution! Thank you for listening!
We'll start this week's Sherpa Sheet with a behind the scenes story. The interview with Kealy was conducted on a video app. Kealy was concerned about how she'd look on video sans makeup. I just use audio so, no worries. Trust me, she looked better without makeup than I did WITH makeup. And I was in a prom gown, With swim fins . When I was dating, Tinder referred to firewood and not a hookup app (Yet, with either one, I'd worry about who was holding the axe.), so it was interesting to hear her perspectives on dating in the modern age. Kealy talks about a great first date and how she successfully avoided working for a moving company of potential serial killers.. She aces "Which Is Better/Which is Worse?" a game that I made up that I will likely lose the pieces to. She teaches me how a guy should ask her out (Hint: Begging and pleading does not make the cut.) Plus! MeToo dating! How men screw up dates( We do!)! Weird Al breakup therapy! Why Kealy is openly discusses her sex life! (Be thankful that your Sherpa did not) A stoop grows in Brooklyn! And the story of how the lovely Sherpa bride came in the picture, even though Panera Bread thinks the Sherpa is a cheapskate!
Kealy, like the guests I've had on so far, was a real pleasure to speak with. She's clearly comfortable in her own skin, and was very down-to-earth Check out her podcast, but wear headphones! I'm sure at some point in her future, she will meet a great guy who will treat her the way women deserve to be treated. Someone that nice deserves that happiness. She stresses that men should listen...and if you're listening to her podcast, you're on the right path.
So, what else this week? It's a continuation of the Allison Sharpe Admiration Society! Thank you soooo much for the kind words about Too Many Podcasts! Hopefully, it will grow my listenership, or I'll have to revisit that begging and pleading again. Also, more Sherpa Suggestions for dating and sex podcasts. Welcome to the Sherpa Sheet! This time around it's a (bit more serious than usual) chat with David Battaglia about his podcast, "Perception Is Reality." David was a pleasure to speak with, and (I'll say it again for Episode 3), a big help. Check his podcast out and notice how tactfully he handles what could be uncomfortable conversations for many of us. We talk about how social media and political beliefs affect conversation in these times, and how to be a better conversationalist with those you might disagree with. Definitely stuff for me to keep in mind as I continue my own podcasting journey, aka "The Sherpa-lution". Oh, and we also rave about Allison Sharpe of Travel Snacks! (Remember her from Episode 1?) After our chat, a few Sherpa Suggestions on podcasts about communication. Then, I sing the finale from "Rigoletto". (What's that? It didn't record? Ummm...never mind that last part.) Welcome to The Sherpa Sheet! We made it to Episode 2! It was a pleasure speaking with Kc Gonzalez, who was also a big help. In this episode, we talk about food, cooking, the restaurant biz, air frying for beginners, his "mystery restaurant", and cooking boogers. (Just listen, you'll get it) Once again, I learned some stuff. Another step in my evolution as a podcaster!
Plus, the debut of Sherpa Suggestions. This week, in keeping with the culinary theme, you get a few more cooking podcast suggestions. I hope you check out Kc's show (don't call it a podcast!), and the other ones(you can call those podcasts!) out. If you have questions, comments, theme suggestions, or your own podcast you want promoted, email me at email@example.com.
