Things you should know before getting the big chop.
Having helped my friends transitioned back to their natural hair by doing the big chop and cutting my hair, I have come to have a better understanding of the 'big chop' process from naturalista standpoint and a processed outlook. Here I am sharing a few things that persons should know before the big chop to assist them on their new journey. Here is a link to my blog post on Understanding your hair Porosity that will also be genuinely beneficial to you on your new hair path. jodyannevanessa.com/2020/02/29/understanding-your-hair-porosity/

How Many People should Be in your RelationSHIP?
I had to touch on the Will and Jada scenario and state why I believe it is none of our business. Let's be frank; no relationSHIP is perfect. We all have a storm that knocks the wind out of us. It is also essential for us to be careful about what we share because the external opinions can be the thing that keeps you together or rip you apart. Protect your relationSHIP and mental health. #relationships

Take Care of your Mental health while advocating for a Better World
The killing of our fellow black brothers and sisters is heartbreaking. While many are advocating for a better world, we also need to ensure that we are taking care of ourselves. #Blacklivesmatter and we need to preserve ourselves so that we can show the world how much. We are beautiful, brilliant human beings. We are not wild animals to be taken down in the streets. So let take care of ourselves so we can make a difference for future generations. So we can teach our children games and how to love instead of how to fall on their knees at the sight of the police. I recognise my privilege as a Jamaican, but the hurt and pain cannot be ignored. This episode is for you, my black brothers and sisters. XOXO

Get a Nutritionist not an Influencer
After the loss of a family member, I started to reflect on some of the things people took for granted as it pertained to their health. There are so many things we ignore, and because of the internet, we sometimes believe we have all the information at our fingertips. But when it comes to health and nutrition, nothing beats a licensed professional. This piece is dedicated to that lost family member and to those who are struggling with weight gain and have no idea what to do. Get expert advice. You will feel relieved, and you may realise you need to change more than what you eat.
