By Joel Patrick
But then something happened. I changed the way I thought. I faced my fears by developing new disciplines. And today, I’m helping others create vision and act on their goals.

Why Your Goals Are Holding You Back
So many of us say: I'll start tomorrow, next week, next month or next year? But, what if the success of our plans depends, not so much on what we choose to do tomorrow, but on the very thing we choose to do next?
In our attempts to make improvements in our lives we look for The home run. But the home run may not even be the most valuable statistic in baseball, much less our dreams. Perhaps success is found by understanding our motives and assessing where we are in proximity to our dreams.
Maybe if we do these things, we’d find that success is nearer to us right now, than any other day that might be in front of us.

Joel Patrick: A Working Title
This was an easy episode to record. But it was a tough one to release. God has blessed everyone with a gift. That gift is an invitation, a ticket for the journey of a lifetime. A journey filled with challenges and rewards. Disappointments and victories. If we choose not to give up, the journey presents us with a new gift. This new gift is the story we get to tell others in hopes that they will not give up in the face of disappointment. That they will stick it out and get their reward. God always has more for your story. But first you must accept the challenges then and only then will you feel the exhilaration of victory. HAPPY LISTENING!!!

The Meaningful Movement
In today’s episode I sit down with Dr. Steve Capobianco. Dr. Capobianco is a thought leader in the world of movement. A co-founder of a kinesiology tap company called Rock Tape, he now travels the world educating health professionals how to strategically use movement to heal the mind and body.
In our conversation, Dr, Steve shares his approach for getting people back from injury to the activity of their choosing by getting them to have that ah-ha moment on their journey. By creating pleasant experiences and moving them into experiential events which lead them back to their meaningful movement.

John Davis - Values, Basics, Slowdown, Prioritize
In this episode of the Hilt Podcast w/JP I sit down with the wonderfully made John Davis. John is a native of Littleton, Colorado where he still lives with his wife and 3 kids. I first met John when I moved to the Denver area back in 2014. I was instantly drawn to his approach to 'the process'. When everyone else is looking for a reason not to do the difficult thing, John looks for every reason why he should do it.
During our conversation John explains how values and fundamentals are key in creating his vision. He shares how identifying the basics is vital to executing correctly and consistently. He also spoke with me about how his gift to handle and execute so much can sometimes be a limitation. So, he intentionally takes time to slow things down and prioritize what is truly important.
What I learned from John in this conversation is that what we say we believe can only be tested in the fire. And it's not until the smoke clears that we discover our true beliefs. Our beliefs determine who we become on the other side of pain.
I know you will learn a ton from this episode and I highly recommend you share it with someone. Yield this knowledge with care and intent. Enjoy the conversation.
Randy Tomlin Knowing Yourself and the Game
Tomlin attended Liberty University and was drafted by the Pirates in the 18th round (460th overall) of the 1988 amateur entry draft. He posted good numbers in the minor leagues and after a couple years made his major league debut on August 6, 1990. His career highlights include a 2.55 ERA in 1990 and a 2.98 ERA in 1991. Tomlin played his final Major League game on May 20, 1994. He went 30-31 in 94 career starts with 297 career strikeouts.
After retiring from Major League Baseball, Tomlin was the pitching coach at Liberty University from 1997-2006.[1] He then went on to become the pitching coach for the Washington Nationals affiliate Potomac Nationals of the single-A Carolina League from 2007-2008 and the pitching coach of Nationals double-A affiliate Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League from 2009-2011. He currently lives in Lynchburg, Virginia, and is the head coach at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In this episode I speak with my old college coach about how he overcame his limitations by developing his knowledge of baseball and how he built his capacity to compete at the highest level by challenging himself to compete in life on a daily basis. This approach to life and baseball prepared him to capitalize on the opportunities of a lifetime.
This conversation was an absolute honor to be a part of. I hope you enjoy listening to Randy as much as I did. And I know you'll get something out of it for sure. WIELD THIS KNOWLEDGE WITH INTENT. Happy listening.

You Are More
You are not the sum of your past mistakes. If you will remain where your feet are and control what you can control, you can change the lens through which you see your struggles.
