The Universal Church VS The Local Church

what is the main difference between the Universal Spiritual family and the Local Spiritual Family?

The Universal Spiritual Family: “… and on this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18); “… because I persecuted the church of God” (1 Corinthians 15:9); “… just as Christ loved the church… to present her to himself as a radiant church” (Ephesians 5:25–27); “… for the sake of his body, which is the church” (Colossians 1:24); “to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven” (Hebrews 12:23).

The Local Spiritual Family: “If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church” (Matthew 18:17); “In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers” (Acts 13:1); “From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church” (Acts 20:13); “I commend to you our sister, Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchreae” (Romans 16:1); “Greet also the church that meets at their house” (Romans 16:5); “To the angel of the church in Ephesus, write” (Revelation 2:1).

It is clear from the Scripture references above that the New Testament speaks of both the church universal (which comprises all of the true believers throughout history from every kindred, tribe, and tongue) and also speaks of local churches (which consist of all of those separate bodies of Christ who meet together for worship, spiritual ministry, prophetic ministry. Bible study, prayer and communion, in local settings).

The Universal Church has in it only true believers, ones whom the Spirit has called to trust in the saving work of Calvary, and who will be presented to Christ without spot or blemish.

Healthy Living For Kingdom Purpose Part 2

I was 260 lbs when I started my health journey with this program. I dealt with constant pain, and headaches due to my weight. I also suffered from limited mobility (I had to have my wife help me put my socks on). I was discouraged by the health issues I suffered from being overweight and how it hindered my quality of life. Kingdom Interview with Michael Brodeur- Catch The Fire

Michael Brodeur was raised in San Francisco during the turbulent ‘60s by counter-cultural parents. He gave his life to Jesus while hitchhiking around the country and began to train for ministry. He returned to San Francisco in 1977 as part of a church-planting team and co-founded an evangelistic ministry that mobilized thousands to share the gospel throughout the Bay Area.

In 1984, Michael and his wife, Diane, planted a Vineyard church in San Francisco that grew to be one of the largest and most impactful churches the city had seen in a generation. This led to an invitation to serve as a Vineyard district overseer for most of Northern California.

In 2010 after 33 years of fruitful ministry in San Francisco, the Brodeurs moved to Redding, California, where Michael has served in a number of ministries, including Jesus Culture, Global Legacy, and the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. Michael is the author of several books and travels around the world as a conference speaker and leadership coach. He is the founder of www.DestinyFinder.com and www.PastorsCoach.com, two powerful websites that are transforming individuals and organizations around the world. He also currently serves part time with Catch the Fire World and part time as a pastor with Jesus Culture Church in Sacramento CA.
