It is best to read the post while listening to the audio. The audio itself is spoken much too fast, but I myself have a terrible problem with lisping so that my enunciation is not clear.

This episode can be used to begin a Theory of Knowledge course or class by having students individually or in groups play a game of Charades. The individual or group picks an object out from within the classroom and describes the object using adjectives while the rest of the class attempts to guess at what the object is that is being described. The key concepts to be worked at and questioned are perception (empiricism), representational thinking, categorical thinking, language and reason as ways of knowing and their connection, as well as "bringing to presence" or truth as "illumination". Going step-by-step through the procedures of how the object has been brought to presence can help establish how perception, experience, language and reason are connected to what we know and why we think we know it.

Introduction to Theory of Knowledge: An Alternative Approach

This audio presents a proposed alternative approach to the teaching and learning of the Theory of Knowledge course in the IB Diploma Program. It emphasizes that our representing of our world as object brought about by the technological world-view as a way of being in the world is highly questionable in its future outcomes.
