Wildfire Lessons - An Interview with Dr. Sarah McCaffrey
Join Jonathan as he speaks with Dr Sarah M. McCaffrey, USDA Forest Service Research Social Scientist, as they discuss barriers and opportunities to engaging residents to mitigate wildfire hazards. Active involvement of the public will be central to improving forest health and decreasing wildfire risk. One barrier to effectively engaging the public may be that many of the accepted descriptions related to the public and wildfire are based primarily on conventional wisdoms that may or may not hold. Assessing the empirical reality of these narratives is critical in designing policy and outreach that effectively engages the public and ensures that limited resources address the issues that are of actual rather than perceived public concern.
Wildfire Lessons - An interview with Dan Schroder
The first podcast of a newly created series focused on challenges, solutions and wildfire mitigation best practices. Join Jonathan as he speaks with Dan Schroder of Colorado State University Extension about wildfire mitigation and work within Summit County, Colorado.
