'Next Goal Wins' with Thomas Rongen
Ep 21: Special Guest Thomas Rongen joins the podcast as we look back on the fantastic story of his tenure in charge of American Samoa in 2011. Directed by Mike Brett and Steve Jamison, the story was later released via the superb documentary 'Next Goal Wins' in 2014. It chronicled the tale of a small island team in the South Pacific, still haunted by their 31-0 loss to Australia in April 2001 to go on and win their first-ever competitive game (and more) after the Dutchman took charge a decade later. The story is also to be released as a motion picture in the near future with Michael Fassbender playing the role of Thomas.
