Total Depravity Says WHAT???
In this episode I take a look at what calvinists are saying about total depravity in their own words, and then I give a response with references to Adam Harwood in his new book "Christian Theology" and his 6 major views on the subject.
Then I look at Sam Webb and his overall conclusion of calvinism in a nutshell. What does it really matter?

Two Perspectives on God's Thoughts and Knowledge
Divine simplicity: discursive thought and generated knowledge Will Duffy and Chris Morrison
In this episode we explore some tough questions about specific bible passages that seem to indicate God changes his mind, he interacts with his creation, that he is temporal and experiences emotions and growth in knowledge as it relates to both the Old Testament authorial intent and New Testament incarnation. Chris takes the classical position which relies heavily on anthropomorphisms and other phenomenological explanations for texts that seem to show God gaining knowledge, changing his mind, and experiencing change that the classical models may have difficulty explaining.
Enjoy!

John 6:44- Who is able to come to Jesus?
In this episode I take a quick look at John 6:44 and we dive into some calvinist commentaries and non-calvinist commentaries to see what is being said about this verse. Who is able to come to Jesus? Who is drawn of the Father? Is the gospel enough to Bring someone to belief in Jesus?
- In addition to the commentaries, we also take a look at the grammatical and syntax of this verse to see if it supports the calvinist interpretation.

The Book of Revelation- Written Early or Late? James Rochford vs Dr. Dean Furlong
If you ever saw the Hank Hanegraaff vs Mark Hitchcock debate... ...you will be excited to hear that we have been working on and have scheduled James Michael Rochford and Dean Furlong to debate the DATE OF REVELATION.
This may impact one's view of eschatological doctrine via preterism vs futurism. IMO this is the equivalent of Hitchcock V Hanegraaff with updated arguments. You won’t want to miss this.
This took place March 21st @ 2pm cst Here is a link to james’ website supporting the late date.
There is a LOT of excellent material on this website supporting the late date. https://www.evidenceunseen.com/.../ju...
Here is a link to Dean’s website supporting the early date. He also did his dissertation on the subject and is VERY well-versed in the arguments for and against and early date. https://deanfurlong.com/irenaeus-domi...

Foreknowledge & Is Calvinism Fatalism?- Brian Wagner, PhD

I know that's a mouthful, but stick with me on this one. You dont want to miss it.
A great conversation to be had and I welcome any calvinists who wish to challenge the claim that Calvinism is actually just fatalism at is core.

Jody Dillow- Calvinism, Free Grace Soteriology, and YOUR Rewards in eternity
Final Destiny- Find the link to the excellent scholarly work by Dr. Jody Dillow here.
There is a ton of information on these very subjects. https://www.amazon.com/Final-Destiny-...
Calvinism and Free Grace Theology seem to butt heads on serious doctrinal issues. Wayne Grudem, John MacArthur and others have written and preached against free grace theology. Why is that?
We know that the idea of a Catholic Purgatory is not scriptural but what about the final accountability of the Christian? What exactly happens at the judgment seat of Christ for the christian as it is related to rewards and punishment?
Join Jody Dillow and myself as we discuss these topics. Feel free to chat or call in with your questions at the end. Remember the number: 816-866-0025. Enjoy!
TALKING CALVINISM with Kevin Thompson (Beyond the Fundamentals)
In this episode I am talking to fellow-podcaster Kevin Thompson about the problems with calvinism. We seek to ask and answer some of the tough questions about calvinism.
Here are two links to the video we reviewed. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=saved&v=741421129960882
If you have any interest in understanding soteriology, differences between arminianism and calvinism, or just plain old talking about the gospel... you dont want to miss this episode.
You can find Kevin's YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/KevinThompson1611
and his website here: http://beyondthefundamentals.com
Kevin is sometimes called an "anti-calvinist", and I hope to draw out some of these accusations as well.

The Purgatory Debate- Josh Gibbs (Free Grace) vs Mathew Broderick (Catholic)
Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory?
Do Christians go to a place called purgatory where they atone for sins not covered by the blood of Jesus? Does this impact the gospel in any way?
The doctrine of justification seems to be directly impacted by the Catholic dogma of purgatory (in which anyone who denies it is anathemitized), making the work of Christ ineffective regarding atonement.
Enjoy this episode and as always, call in at the end of the debate with your questions at 816-866-0025.
~ Eschatology Debate ~ (Pre-Millennialism) Joshua Gibbs vs Stacy Turbeville (Full Preterist) The End Times
Are we living in the new heavens and new earth right now? Has Jesus come back? Is the Devil still around and active on this earth? Did the Great Tribulation already occur and was Nero the AntiChrist? When was the book of Revelation written?
Tune in for the answers to these questions and more. In this debate I will represent the premillennial position while Stacy represents the full preterist position. The full preterist seems to be gaining popularity as we approach the end of this age. It's a bit like finding a an armadillo in southern Missouri, they were once rare and you would stop to get a picture, but now they are everywhere and carry a nasty disease called leprosy on them. The full preterist position has 2 BIG assumptions- Revelation was written in 60-65 AD and that we are living in the new heavens and new earth right now... this is as good as it gets folks! :)
Stacy and I debated the eternality of the Son (Jesus) in a Trinity vs Oneness dialogue a few weeks back. check that out if you haven't already.
As always, call in with questions or comments at 816-866-0025
The Eucharist Debate- Free Grace (Joshua Gibbs) vs Catholicism (Mathew Broderick)
In this episode we are debating the Eucharist. It is a totally open-ended topic that can go any direction each debater would like to take it.
As a Free Grace Christian I will make an argument against the historical problems with the Eucharist, trans-substantiation, the mass, the necessity of faith alone for justification in opposition to sacramental participation + faith, and the authority and nature of the Catholic priesthood compared to what the Bible teaches about the 2 classes of priests- Aaronic and Melchisek.
One side (catholicism) teaches faith + works are necessary for salvation while the other teaches that Faith in Jesus' is enough to be born again and have the righteousness of Jesus imputed to you.
Enjoy. as always, feel free to write in at TalkingChristianityApologetics@gmail.com

John 7:53-8:11. The Pericope Adulterae Debate Review and More
In this episode I am interviewing Dr. James Snapp, Jr. where we will review portions of the debate between Dr. Stephen Boyce and Dr. Jeff Riddle. See here for a link to that debate https://youtu.be/-RkxlW9cP0U.

Debate- Dr. Jeff Riddle and Dr. Stephen Boyce ~John 7:53-8:11 The Pericope Adulterae~
Thesis- “Is the PA an authentic part of John's Gospel? The PA should be rejected on external, internal, and historical grounds.”
In this debate Dr. Stephen Boyce is taking the affirmative that the PA is NOT an authentic part of John's gospel and that it should therefore be rejected on external, internal, and historical grounds.”
Dr. Jeff Riddle will take the negative and show that the PA is authentic to the gospel of John and that it should be accepted on external, internal and historical grounds.
Call in with your questions at 816-866-0025 or you can send them in your livestream chat to be answered at the end of the debate.
TRINITY VS ONENESS DEBATE- Josh Gibbs vs Stacy Turbeville
In this debate we are really answering 3 questions: 1. Is the Son divine? 2. Is Jesus God the Son or God the Father? 3. Did Jesus pre-exist the incarnation?
Tune in for this debate if you are interested in understanding how Jesus is not the Father, not the Son and not the Holy Ghost, yet these 3 persons are identified as being independent persons who make up our one God according to Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29. The Trinity is seen in both testaments and I hope to show that in this debate.
See Michael Heiser's work on this subject for more information as well as Robert Bowman Jr., Dr. Edward Dalcour, and Keith Piper, all of whom I cited in this debate.

Unitarian vs Trinitarian Debate ~Kenneth Joel vs Josh Gibbs~ Did Jesus exist in the Old Testament?
In this episode I am debating a "biblical unitarian" regarding the nature of God. He will defend the unitarian POV which says the Father is the one person of the Godhead while the son is 100% man with no divine nature while the Holy Spirit is simply an impersonal force used by the Father to accomplish his own will.
As a trinitarian, I will establish the 3 persons within the one being which we call God. He is complex in nature yet very clearly identified as 3 persons throughout the entire Bible. Jesus was not a created being yet existed with the Father and Holy Spirit from eternity past. We will draw out the discussion and nail down the differences in our views on God and ultimately the impact one's view of Jesus has on the gospel itself. We are taking calls at the end if anyone wants to call in At 816-866-0025!

What’s your view regarding some important textual variants?
Mark 16:9-20 – regarded in early Egypt as secondary (cf. Jn. 21:25 in Aleph)
“Secondary” does not mean “non-original” – Psalms, Proverbs, Jeremiah.
John 7:53-8:11 – Pentecost-lection
A lector’s copy was used as an early exemplar
Left off here------
Luke 22:43-44 – movement into Matthew 26
(First John 5:7 (Comma Johanneum) – see the blog)
(Mark 1:2 – “In Isaiah” or “in the prophets” – see the blog)
(Matthew 6:13 (doxology) – see the blog)
(Luke 23:34 – see the blog)
(John 1:18 – see the blog)
(John 3:13 – see the blog)
Jude verse 3 – the conflation in Codex Sinaiticus (if we have time)
● How do you regard “Confessional Bibliology”?
Ultra-minority-readings in the TR.
Parablepsis in the Byzantine Text. Example: James 4:12.

Randy Krakowski is a self-identifying Agnostic Atheist. He says this is one who neither claims to know a God exists and believes there is no God because there is no tangible evidence of one. In this episode we use a formal style debate pattern to decide if the Kalam Cosmological Argument is sound and if it leads you to the God of Christianity. Does God Exist? Enjoy!
Debating Eternal Security with Sean Adams
In this episode Sean Adams and myself debate the eternal security of the believer. We discuss passages such as Hebrews 6:1-10, 1 Corinthians 3:10-16, and Romans 8:1 regarding the flesh, spirit, damnation, and carnality of a Christian, and the condemnation of a believer regarding salvation in contrast to rewards. The Bible Debate
In this Episode we have the audio from a live debate over the topic of Bible Versions between myself and Tyler Hood. Tyler is the man! A great friend of mine, even though we disagree on this subject. It has been a while since we did this debate, and my views may have become more distinguished and broad since. :)

2v2 Debate- Does God Decree Sin?
This is a tag-team debate where James Gray @JamesGray__ and myself- Josh Gibbs @thaRealJgibbs represent the traditional perspective where we will deny that God Decrees sin. Kris Williams @Kdubtru and Dave @Presbypolemics will represent the calvinist position that God does decree sin. Some would consider this the great theodicy, which is, what is the origin of evil and how is God still a holy God having permitted evil to enter the world... #apologetics #debate #calvinism #biblestudy #oldpaths #God #christianity
Debate- Who is willing and able to come to Christ?
In this episode I debate a seasoned Vet (literally a veteran active in the military) over the question of Total inability/Total Depravity. I consider Dave to be a friend! Very good discussion! enjoy!
