In this Podcast, Ben Pugh talks about his framework for thinking through how we can help people who are in recovery. Al Rycroft shares his pastoral and practical experiences of helping people in recovery. These two sections are then followed by reflections, questions and further comments. Before we reboot the Joshua Centre podcast for 2021, with some exciting plans for learning together about church planting and multiplication, we wanted to interview Josh Cockayne about his stories about the life cycle of a church plant. Josh was involved in planting G2 Central, which was a church plant in the city centre of York. He is now serving as an assistant curate at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in the town of St Andrew's and as Lecturer in Analytical and Exegetical Theology at the University of St Andrew's.

Will your congregation still be able to turn the lights on when the Joshua Centre funding runs out? What can you do to make sure that you are still going for many more years to come?

Urgency is about being brutally honest about our present reality. What the level of urgency is in our congregations? If it is not very high, do we need to do something about it? If so - why, what can we do, and how should we go about it?  

Ben has been leading a church plant on a Council Estate in Bolton for the last 6 years, and is about to move on to start a new church plant in a different estate, entrusting the church his has been leading to others. Ben is also the Co-leader of the 'Antioch Network' in Manchester Diocese (https://antiochnetwork.org.uk/), which has been set up to make disciples of Jesus by starting small churches in housing estates.

In this episode, we are talking with Anthony Clowes, who has recently started working as a leadership coach at the Joshua Centre, about being courageous in our leadership and using sports, and our other hobbies, as tools for sharing the good news about Jesus.

In this episode, we will be interviewing Duncan Petty, who for about sixteen years has been involved in leading Oaks, which is a church plant in Tanhouse estate in Skelmersdale. He shares about how he got involved and built community, and what he has learnt through his experience with Oaks.

In recent years, the methodology of Oaks  has been inspired by Eugene Peterson's book The Contemplative Pastor and Seven Sacred Spaces by George Lings.

This episode features Sharon Collins, who will be sharing about her experience as an urban evangelist with The Pop Up Church at a library in Blackburn. Jack Shepherd and Dan Rogers also have a conversation about how to encourage people to take steps forward in their relationship with Jesus.

How do we help people work together as teams? In this episode of the Joshua Centre Podcast, Jack Shepherd and Dan Rogers explore how in leadership we can reflect the attitude of Jesus, described in Philippians 2, rather than that of the Lone Ranger or Father Christmas.
