Silence the Noise

Silence the Noise

Stop giving people power over you. When someone has a negative influence over any aspect of your life, you're giving them power over you — and that can hold you back.

Instead, establish healthy boundaries with the people around you — and assume responsibility for your emotions, not theirs.

Jon Stewart Speaks on Dave Chappelle's 'SNL' Monologue

Speaking plainly, he acknowledged his longtime friendship with Chappelle, before noting that he doesn’t think censorship is the way to help people with hostile views learn and grow.

“Comedy is reductive. We play with tropes because everyone has prejudices in their lives and the way they view things,” he said. “And comics rely on those prejudices as a shorthand for our material. Even the wokest of comics play with tropes to a certain extent.”

He proposed that anti-Semitism should be dealt with in a straightforward manner, or “we will never gain any kind of understanding with each other.”

Kanye West MLK-Ultra: Harley Pasternak's Alleged Threats

Harley Pasternak threatens to ‘institutionalize’ Kanye West: ‘Back to Zombieland;' Kanye West exposed his former trainer Harley Pasternak for purportedly threatening to have him hospitalize. Beloved celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak appeared to threaten to “institutionalize” Kanye West so that the rapper would be medicated into “Zombieland forever.” Following his anti-Semitic rants, West shared texts purportedly sent by Pasternak, who is Jewish, that began by offering to have a “loving, open conversation” with him based on “fact.” Pasternak also asked his former friend and client to refrain from “cuss words” or “crazy stuff.” “Second option, I have you institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever. Play date with the kids just won’t be the same,” the message continued. West, 45, tweeted the screenshot Thursday and wrote that he was “mentally misdiagnosed and nearly drugged out of my mind to make me a manageable well behaved celebrity. In 2016, According to law enforcement sources ... cops responded to a call for a welfare check on Kanye around 1:20 PM PT. He was at his trainer, Harley Pasternak's home at the time and was "acting erratically." Pasternak refused to give a statement to TMZ. Remember the drug "Modafinil" reduces extreme sleepiness... Ye told Piers Morgan that he was misdiagnosed and was suffering from extreme exhaustion during that time and had not slept for days. Pasternak allegedly had Ye sent to the same psychiatric hospital for a 72-hour hold; the same hospital as Brittney Spears and Amanda Bynes at UCLA Medical Center.

Adidas founder Adolf Adi Dassler's own past, former member of the Nazi Party

Adidas founder Adolf Adi Dassler's own past, former member of the Nazi Party

Source: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/adidas-founded-former-nazi/; The shoe and sportswear company was founded in 1949 by Adi Dassler, whose previous enterprise had manufactured military equipment for Nazi Germany.

Nur Ibrahim

Published October 27, 2022; The man who founded Adidas in 1949 had been a card-carrying member of the Nazi Party, but the extent of his involvement with the party and its tenets is debated. After rapper and fashion designer Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, caused an uproar by making anti-Semitic comments, a number of prominent companies rescinded their partnerships with him, including Adidas. The sportswear giant had been in a decade-long partnership with Ye, developing his Yeezy branded sneakers and other products that became best selling items.

On Oct. 25, 2022, Adidas announced that they were terminating their partnership with Ye. But the company has its own dark ties to anti-Semitism, in the form of its founder, Adolf "Adi" Dassler, who had been a member of the Nazi Party. Dassler, according to the Adidas website, registered a company in 1924 as "Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik" with the aim of creating the best sports equipment. After this, the website skips over a chunk of history, and goes to 1949. So what was Dassler up to before and during World War II? His first company was actually started in 1924 with his brother Rudolf. Although a German sprinter wearing the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory's shoes won the bronze medal at the Olympics in 1932, it was Black American sprinter Jesse Owens who won multiple gold medals wearing Dassler Brothers shoes in 1936, putting the company on the map.

The Dasslers both joined the Nazi party in 1933, according to the German magazine Der Spiegel. According to the Oxford Dictionary of Sports Studies, their initial company had "prospered in the Nazi years in the 1930s, as sport became a popular pursuit associated with the goals of the Hitler regime." Adi even joined the Hitler Youth in 1935 as a sports coach and supplier.

Like many small and medium-sized companies in war-era Germany, they participated in the Nazi war effort. Four years into World War II, the shoemakers in Herzogenaurach, the Dasslers' hometown, were suffering and ordered to cease all civilian operations in Dec. 1943. The German army was in retreat, and resources were scarce. The Dassler factory's shoe-making machines were converted into spot-welding equipment for weapons manufacturing. At this point, everyone in Herzogenaurach was working for the military.

The brothers reportedly disagreed on politics, however. According to the book "Sneaker Wars: The Enemy Brothers Who Founded Adidas and Puma and the Family Feud That Forever Changed the Business of Sport" by Barbara Smit, Rudolf was more sympathetic to the Nazi cause, while Adolf preferred to focus on the business. Not so fast Adidas! Kanye West TM & IP

Not so fast Adidas! Kanye West TM & IP

The partnership between Ye and Adidas appears to be a “standard licensing deal” that was labeled as a collaboration, according to Kurtz. “That means that Kanye is licensing to Adidas his trademarks and intellectual property, Yeezy and YZY, to put on shoes and apparel,” he said. “Adidas looks to be the one who’s doing the manufacturing and the designing, and that’s why they’re the ones on all the design patents.” The Yeezy business earned more than $500 million in total royalty payments and marketing fees through 2020, the first four years of the Adidas deal. Ye’s pact with Adidas gave him a 15% royalty on wholesale Yeezy products, Forbes reported in 2019, but Ye told Bloomberg News in September that he wanted to renegotiate to a 20% lifetime agreement. Filings with the PTO show that his company, Mascotte, has registered or applied to register 164 trademarks related to the Yeezy brand, including “Yeezy,” “Donda,” and “Yeezus.” The trademarks cover products in a variety of industries from shoes, sportswear, food, and beverages, to cosmetics and products in the metaverse. The Gerben Law Firm, based in Washington, D.C., compiled the filings. Unlike the other Yeezy footwear, Ye did obtain a design patent for the Yeezy Slide in 2020. In a since deleted Instagram post from June, Ye accused Adidas of creating knockoff Yeezy Slides. Brand Value The fallout may also serve as a warning for companies to complete their due diligence when jumping into co-branding deals, which have risen in popularity in the past few years, said trademark attorney Kazuyo Morita, who is a partner at Holland & Hart LLP. Celebrity co-branding can often provide increased sales, consumer hype, and can distribute economic risk, she said. “And really, the more controversial the figure, the bigger the splash—and maybe the bigger the payoff—but there’s also this exact type of risk.” In theory, Adidas could continue selling shoes that look identical to Yeezy shoes as long as they don’t use the trademarks owned by Ye. But Gerben said the controversy around the partnership has already diminished the value of Adidas’ designs. “If Adidas is going to move forward with any use of a product that resembles something they did with Kanye, I don’t think that’s going to go over well,” he said. “It is essentially just a complete loss for them.”

The Ugly Truth About Record Labels

The Ugly Truth About Record Labels

They kill artistry and instincts. It gets harsher. The music you made and that you love is not yours. You can't release it. You might not ever be able to release it. Imagine writing your best music ever and it's somewhere sitting on a shelf, holed up in a life sentence. Prince said in 2015 "Record contracts are just like-- I'm gonna say the word--slavery." Prince also said "I would tell any young artist... don't sign."

Former video director Robert Starbuck calls on rappers to "change the culture."
As previously reported by REVOLT, award-winning rapper Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston on (Nov. 1) that was another senseless murder. In the short time since his death, there have been a lot of discussions around the topic of how art imitates life. Mia Jaye, the girlfriend of another slain rapper, Young Dolph, called on the community to be the change they want to see. Former music video director Robert Starbuck has also joined the conversation.
Starbuck’s Twitter bio reads, “Used to direct stars, now I fight for freedom.” Yesterday morning, he posted a video just over four minutes long to his Twitter feed. He captioned the clip, “Another young rapper is dead. This time it’s Takeoff from Migos. Recently, it was PnB Rock, who I once directed. I used to direct people like Gucci Mane, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, Lil Yachty, Akon, Machine Gun Kelly, etc. I have some hard truths and a challenge for all rappers.”

Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion claims her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment stiffed her

BACKGROUND: Known hottie Megan Thee Stallion claims her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, is stiffing her on payment and may be sabotaging the rollout for her upcoming album, Traumazine. In a now-deleted Instagram post from February 2020, Megan — legal name Megan Pete — alleges she never received payment from 1501 “in her life.” For several years, she has expressed her desire to leave the independent Houston label led by ex–baseball player Carl Crawford. On March 21, 1501 countersued the rapper over the definition of an “album,” claiming that 2021’s Something for Thee Hotties does not fulfill the requirements to be deemed an album. The countersuit follows Meg’s original February 2022 lawsuit, in which she claimed Something does count as an album and contributes to satisfying her obligations to the label. The new legal storm arrives after Megan’s previous lawsuits against 1501, in which she claimed the label barred her from releasing new music after she tried to renegotiate her contract. And on August 11, the rapper decided to release her newest album, Traumazine, after a stunted rollout plagued by song and cover-art leaks, hinting in new tweets that the leaks could have been sabotage from 1501.

N.O.R.E./Revolt TV backlash for Kanye West Interview

Does Freedom of Speech apply to Kanye West? Does anybody honestly believe that Kanye West hates black people? Or, was the "White Lives Matter" t-shirt just a ploy to stir up media blitz and outrage amongst the black culture? Should people be sick of the "cancel culture?" Is Kanye West anti-semetic or just angry at certain people within the jewish community? There are so many unanswered questions. Leave us your thoughts in a voicemail comment.

Is Candace Owens using Kanye West?

Friends of Kanye West told TMZ that Candace Owens didn't just decide to wear their "White Lives Matter" shirts on a whim -- the two have been planning it for weeks -- with some of Kanye's former friends telling TMZ that she's acting as his chief advisor in his day-to-day life. Sources close to Kanye told TMZ that Candace has been reaching out to people on Kanye's behalf, working to set up calls, meetings and appearances. TMZ reported that they were told folks who were close to Kanye (many have distanced themselves after his recent attacks) believe he's in a bad space mentally, and anyone working to persuade him to do anything other than get help doesn't have his best interests at heart.
